There had been an odd "couple" that have been a plague to the plains of Sacae, they had victimized the Sacaens that had showed them kindness. What was odd about this couple you may be thinking? They weren't even a couple, heck if anything they hated each other's guts but couldn't just simply just part ways. Was it that they hated each other that they were in love, or the other way around. Love for another person, now that's a crazy concept. There was only one person that Hiro loved and that was himself, Mel was just eye candy, or something. Most likely somebody to play 'grab ass' with when they were playing their 'married' couple act. Being on the run from Kraft taught Hiro to sleep with one eye open, with that little... gremlin at his side it was a good thing he was used to that. He didn't trust her as far as he could throw her, due to having almost no upper body strength that wasn't very far, he knew if he didn't watch her like a hawk she might steal his precious loot that he worked very hard at getting back from the person he 'loaned' it to.
The two had been approaching another unsuspecting village, Hiro had been walking next to Mel with his left arm around her. He leaned in and pinched her cheek "Who's my favorite little gremlin, you are, yes you are." He spoke to her as if he was talking to a little kid. "Man, these people seem to be too trusting, it's like taking candy from a baby(Which is something he would do) sometimes."

They were certainly one of the odder duos wandering the plains, two thieves simply going wherever they happened to pass. The devil found work for idle hands, a little bit of shine taken from here and there and many pairs of pants from people bathing tossed off into the mud for the simple fact that she cold. It was hardly like Hiro was one to stop her from causing meaningless trouble that served no purpose. He would do his little bit and she would do hers, and somehow at the end of the day they ended up walking off in the same direction when the day came to a close. Her guard was constantly up at attention with him touching and scheming every few moments, but once she made a proper place for her shiny things and simply ignored him he was tolerable, keeping her sword out of his rear end. Still, it was useful to have a scapegoat around though, he looked far shiftier than her an it would be easy to slide the blame for a murder or two over onto his head. "Who is my favorite future eunuch?" was the sweet retort to his little game, a knife in her hand and patting the front of his pants with the flat of the blade. "You areeeeeee~ You can live in a temple eating greens and surrounded by fat sweaty priests. Maybe they'll even get out a switch when you misbehave~" The gremlin crooned gently as she patted the little guy in faux remorse "I'll miss you like I miss that irritable child I drowned~ Not very much." The corners of her lips pulled up into a smile and she sighed, the knife disappearing up somewhere in her clothes as she tread over his feet purposely once or twice. "I think I'll set something on fire this time."

Mel had made yet another joke about castrating him, this was roughly the millionth time she had make a joke like that. He knew she wouldn't do something that horrendous to him, or herself. Why would any woman want to do that to Elimine's gift to women? Clearly she would be mad to do that, sure the girl was a little batty but not that crazy. "You shouldn't say things like that sweat pea, clearly you would miss me a great amount or else why would you stalk me all over Elibe? Or were you talking about you miss your dreams of taming the great Hiro like you miss that child you drowned?"
As the pair entered the village Hiro used his free hand to pull his hood up, covering most of his face. People were busy doing their own thing, a couple of them greeted the duo as they entered, Hiro pulled his arm away from Mel, his cloak now concealing most of his body except his feet. His eyes scanned the crowd, looking for potential target as well as dangers. There were quite a few goody to shoes in these villages, he didn't want to run into one of them if he wasn't successful in pick-pocketing somebody. He saw what he liked here, "Don't do anything too stupid to draw alarm." He told Mel as he broke away. He wasted no time going right for his target, a young maiden who appeared to be alone, "Excuse me miss, I'm a traveling bard." He said pulling back his hood to give her the most charming smile he could muster. "I've been wondering around the plains gathering all of the stories of a red headed swordsman from this land." He has heard stories about him, Kenshin, possibly the greatest swordsman to come from Sacae this generation. He didn't care about the man, nor the stories. All he had hoped to learn that somebody like him wasn't in this village, it would kinda ruin his fun.
"Kenshin?" The girl's eyes lit up when she said his name. "What kind of stories are you looking for?" Hiro dug into his bag looking for something to write with and on. Sure he wasn't truly interested in that subject, but it got his foot into the door. "Anything and everything. I plan on taking these stories home and spreading his legend around there. Do you have somewhere where we can talk in private?" She had nodded as she turned to return to her home with the 'bard'. Hiro turned towards Mel and gave her a sly smile and a wink as he followed the girl.

"Don't do anything too stupid to draw alarm." Oh that was a challenge wasn't it. Luckily she wasn't interested in taking him up on it just yet, there had hardly been a moment for her to pinpoint which would be the best. Anyways, Hiro had wandered off to do his usual routine of chatting up the closest living thing with breasts about some red headed man. Honestly his infatuation was pitiful, his lovely red headed love was likely fleeing from him in the first place. Some awkward encounter in a pub was sure to have been the cause and her awful companion was smitten at first sight. Making up stories were certainly more fun than the mundane reality, and certainly a more pleasant way to view the mundane world. Who let the truth get in the way of a good story? She wandered off through the market, arms crossed behind her head with large strides that made up for her lack of stature to keep with the flow of people. From there it was simple. Weaving in and out of people to swipe a few fruit from a crate and into her pouch, and on to the other side of traffic to slip a particularly nice hairpin up her sleeve. Mel had not the slightest idea of why she wanted it, maybe it was the flowers reminded her of things she didn't want to think of or the color had just caught her eye. But it was hers now, and she was off to find her useless companion to lob fruit at.
