Story:
The story of this green-haired knight began in a small house in Santaruz at night. A girl was born in a farmer family, watched by the parents and an older brother. The birth wasn't easy but thanks to the kind cleric from the local church the delivery was a success with the baby and the mother safe. Melvina grew up in happy family, her father owned a large farm fields and made big profit by selling the crops to the market. It wasn't long before young Melvina started to help her parents' work in the field under the guidance of her older brother, Hector. It seemed like a good normal life. The girl never asked for more, her only wish was to continue living happily with her family and maybe raise her own child someday. Around 5 years after Melvina was born, the Burns family welcomed new members of their family when a twin was born.
But Lycia wasn't really a peaceful place to live.
When Melvina was 16 years old Lycia was overwhelmed by the might of Bern army. After the unexpected fall of the league's strongest, Ostia, the other states quickly surrendered or was defeated in battle. The happy life she had was turned into a nightmare just in a couple of week. As the losing side, Lycia was forced to pay for the cost of war. Famine and economy crisis came as the result of war and Bern occupation for several years. Melvina watched when her family's land was confiscated two months after the occupation began. Of course her father couldn't agree to the selfish request but a farmer couldn't stand up against Bern officers so he eventually gave up. Thankfully her father had enough saving to build a small bakery, while it was less profitable than farming at least he could feed his family.
Two years since the opening of the bakery, Melvina and her brother were drafted to the militia. Her parents were against it at first but the siblings decided its time for them to find some work. And the probably most profitable work at that time was either selling weapons or working for the military, for the siblings the latter seemed better so they eventually picked that. Although later they were put in separate unit, Melvina and her brother kept contact by frequently exchanging letters, often sharing amusing stories and bitter experiences. Those two became mental support for each other. Unlike those rich kids from noble houses, Melvina had to build her career from zero and endure difficult drill and boring tasks like guarding the gate. The diligence and hard work which she had learnt from farming life eventually helped her getting some good result, the green-haired girl seemed very happy when she was given her first promotion.
The family had gotten economically better now with the money sent by Melvina and her brother. The bakery had begun to generate steady profit too and had been successful launching some of its newest products. With money wasn't a problem anymore they could even send the youngest children, the twin, to prestigious university and build a new house.
During her time serving Santaruz, Melvina had dated several men. There was a childhood sweetheart, a fellow knight, her captain, and a local blacksmith. Unfortunately, her relationship never last long for some reason, but Melvina usually was the one to propose for break up. Her parents always pushed her to find a good man, leave the military and settle in with a good husband but Melvina simply shook her head and brushed off the proposal when asked. The green-haired knight stated that even if she admitted her life as a soldier was rough, she had already attached to it.
After Bern left following their lost against the alliance of Ilia and Sasuke's force, Etruria came led by self-claimed Prophet. How dreadful! The land only had short time to recover but it was forced to face war once again, and this time against worse opponent.... Melvina, now 20 years old, was having a good career. Her brilliant mind and inspiring leadership had earned her the position of Liutenant. However, the girl had changed a lot after several years of military life, she was more brave, more direct, and a lot bolder compared to the first day. There was some hesitation in the woman's heart when she marched with the platoon to face her first real war. The battle of Ostia. The worst battle she had ever faced. The army of Lycia League didn't stand a chance against The Prophet's might. The grand city was flattened with super destructive magic which still contaminated the land until several years later. The battle was a nightmare. Melvina left the battle early after she was beaten and almost killed by an Etruria general. She cursed her loss but if the knight had stayed in Ostia she would probably have fallen with the city when Kraft's wrath destroyed the city. Was her retreat from the front line a mere luck or fate? She didn't know.
The lost of some officers with significant ranks forced the top brass in Santaruz army to grant promotion to some individuals. Melvina then replaced her Captain, who had fallen in the battle of Ostia with half of his squad. Although the promotion was made possible by the circumstances, some people believed the green-haired knight deserved the new position. Her squad liked her and the other captains felt respect to the woman who had served Santaruz for years.
Since that day, she had been working to keep order and peace in Santaruz, and sometimes even the other states.
