Story:Midori’s tribe the Chaklai, resides near the southern mountains of Sacae. They are neighbors to Macendew and divided from Bern by the local river. Her tribe settled down in the patch of land a few hundred years after the scouring. It was in this small fertile valley that the tribe started to grow and prosper. They used a small series of channels to irrigate their farmland and orchards. The main crop of the Chaklai are rice, soy, grain, barley, beans, and plums. The people of the tribe had a long standing, good relationship, with Bern. The Chaklai often allow peoples of other lands to mix and marry into their own tribe. Thanks to their relationship with Bern, the tribe managed to turn themselves into a proper village and eventually into a commonwealth. There are several little villages among their territory. With each passing year they continue to strengthen and slowly expand their territory. Unfortunately, due to their association with Bern and willingness to mingle with outsiders the tribe isn't inherently well liked by other Saceans. To combat this stigma the tribe has combined the medical knowledge of their ancestors, the peoples they have welcomed, and other various territories, and gave taught them to their clergy. The Chaklai have a reputation for growing food and making fantastic medics. Which they often send out to aid other Saceans tribes.
Midori herself was born to a mixed couple. Her father was a former Bern knight whom retired from the knighthood. Her mother was daughter of one of the tribe’s many farmers. Together they made a small life for one another living off the land. Midori was born on the first day of September and sadly at the cost of her mother’s life. Her grandmother gave her the name Midori, because in her language it means green. The grandmother named her that because she shared her father’s green eyes. For a short time Midori was brought up with her father and maternal grandparents. However he fell ill during her infancy and later died. Midori’s maternal grandparents were too old and frail to raise the child up on their own. So they gave her up to the tribe’s local temple. The temple was located in the tribes largest Village. A city-town located along forest near the mountain highlands. It was here that the ancient nomads discovered a hot spring and a stream that brought freshwater down the mountains.
Midori grew up in the temple ever under the watchful eyes of the priests and priestess. Raised with other orphans. It was within the temple she was educated in literature, basic mathematics, and medicine. She was also given strict lecture on the faith of her tribe. The tribe faith was a mixture of ancestor worship, nature worship, and spiritual development. This spiritual development is done through reflection and meditation. She was taught of the myths and legends of the past. Dragons, wyverns, and pegsai are sacred animals to her tribe. Throughout her life in the temple she was given several spiritual trials and eventually learned the way of the staff.
One day the settlement was attacked by a rove of marauders. The town managed to defend itself but at a large cost. Midori along with the majority of her priesthood were deployed out to help tend to the wounded. She managed to patch up and eventually save the life of one of the town’s horse breeders. About a year later Midori was given a horse as a gift. The horse is a medium sized, grey mare, with a spotted coat. Originally, bred to run and help the nomads hunt. She named the horse Ashes. Midori spent 3 years learning how to ride, care, groom, and eventually heal on horseback.
Midori is often seen with her mentor Lady Lucy. A Valkayre fromm Ilia. She is a fourty year old woman who fights with light magic and carries a barrier and fortify staff. She met Midori when the pink haired maiden was 16. She has been training Midori in the arts of medicine, survival, and magic.
