The mountain path winded though the mountains, going farther into the small valley that contained the town of Dono. Isaac walked along the path, his cloak swaying in the breeze behind him. He kept his hand near the hilt of his blade, a habit he'd picked up in the army. He continued down the path, which was then sloping into the small, heavily wooded valley. He could see Dono in the distance, smoke rising from the chimneys of the wood and stone buildings. He was traveling to town to pick up his pay from a recent job he had been given. He'd been hired to track down and retrieve a stolen family heirloom from a small time thief, who'd stolen from the town's mayor. He neared the town, the great oaken gates and stone battlements coming into view. Two soldiers, most likely Illian, stepped forward and crossed their lances, baring his path. " Halt! What is your business here?" The one on the right said. They both looked identical because of their twin suits of armour, masks blocking his view of their faces. "I'm the man the Mayor hired to retrieve his heirloom. I'm just here to return it and get my pay." The guard hesitated, but then gave in. "Alright, but try anything funny, and we will be on you like a deer on corn. OPEN THE GATES!" The guard yelled upward. The oaken gates swung inwards, and the guards stepped to the side to allow Isaac access. Isaac stepped inside, and walked down the main road.
(Okay, people. Eventually the thread will pick up, bandit attack, the usual. And there's a reason it's called Fire in the mountains. Oh, and not cause the bandits have torches, but they do have fire.)

"So this is Bern", spoke Bee to herself as she walked around the town. She had heard Bern was infested with bandits and with opportunity. Now that she was here Bern was different than what she heard. The rumors about the bandits seemed to be off. There was no where near as many bandits as the stories made out. Though she had to wounder if that was the work of random heroes or of Hargus in the north. She heard a lot of them joined up with the demon king and lost there lives in his service. However that was not Bee's concern at the moment. The young maiden needed a place to sleep, a hot meal, and to find the ingredients to make her hair gel again.
In search of ingredients for more hair gel Bee visited the local alchemy shop. The women inside tried to sell her a love potion, which Bee was sure did not work, and a elixir for hair growth. Bee had a pretty good idea of why she was offered such products. She was around that age after all, but she had no interest in neither of them. Her only interest was in improving her magic and increasing the heat of her flames. Bee had a goal and she was going to need all the practice she could get to reach it.
"So this shop was a bust", spoke Bee as she walked out into the road. Where in the world could a maiden get red tree bark around here. If she was still in Lycia she was sure she could find such a tree and scrape the bark off of it. Not in Bern though. Most of the time she saw oak, yellow wood, and pine. Not a single red tree in sight. You would think red trees would be common here with the way everyone seemed obsessed with the color. It was on there armor, there flags, and even the color of some peoples doors, but not on the trees.
Giving off a long sigh Bee looked toward the city gate. A mercenary seemed to have just walked into town. "Great another meat head", she spoke as she turned her head back towards the buildings.

Jared sat down on a bench in the town in of Dono, once again another failure at finding work. No one was hiring, there just isn't enough room, we don't need your skills, etc. The mayor didn't even talk to him because he was too concerned about a missing amulet or brooch or something. It kind of became white noise to him after the five minute mark. That man really liked describing the exact shades of gold it was in. I think if there's a record for rambling, this man takes it.
Still, it was a shame about the failure, Dono isn't that bad of a town. The well-kept cobblestone streets, cultural atmosphere, ominous alleyways, everything a small town should need. Still all the locals seem to talk about is bandits, which isn't too unreasonable, considering how notorious the groups of bandits are. It still can't be worse than Khathelet, right?
"Well then, I guess I'll rest the night here outside, then continue inland," Jared thought before lying down on the bench, "If this gets any worse I'm going to have to resort to some form of petty crime. Eh..."
(First rp, so sorry if I'm a little shaky at this.)

Isaac strolled down the main street, his charge and gold safely tucked into his boot to avoid pickpockets. He casually glanced the town taking in some of the more noticeable buildings, including a few large shops and a bakery, from which the smell of fresh bread wafted. Noticing a inn to the side, Isaac strolled over and pushed the door open. The innkeeper didn't even look up before saying " Four gold a night." Isaac quickly dropped 4 gold on the counter, to which the inn keeper responded " First room on the right." Isaac quickly turned around and walked out. He would come back later. He continued down the street, and seeing what seemed like a broke man getting ready to sleep on a bench, threw four gold at him without stopping. " Get yourself a room. The Inn's behind you. " Isaac kept walking down the street, towards the Mayor's house.
(OOC: I'm pooped tonight and this is all I can manage for now. Who ever posts next (Bee or Jared can start the attack. And buto, let's make it were Isaac and bee dont meet in this thread. He can meet Jared though.)

Jared would be continuing to lie down on the bench. He was so preoccupied doing nothing he didn't notice that the rambunctious town square was now empty. Or the fact that suddenly everyone was shutting windows, boarding doors, silently rushing out, generic townspeople activities. Nary a soul was left in the square. It was like they were prepared for this. Coming down the mountain was what looked from afar that someone had spilled purple dye down the mountain path, but nope. That was the warpaint of the group of ruffians the thief was supposed to sell the heirloom to. And they wanted that shiny brooch if it meant burning this entire town. Why they chose matching purple outfits is beyond explanation. People really couldn't question it when they were being pillaged, most of them just rolled with it.
Huh. That group of matching oddly dressed axe-weilders are heading towards the town gate. Maybe they're street performers. They have those in Bern right? Jared sat up. Yeah, no, those guys are bad news. And of course they're blocking off the main exit, damn. Jared attempted to climb up a building to get a better view of what's happening. There were about eleven of them, most holding axes, some holding lances, the one with the plume on horseback, seemingly the leader.
The town Illian gate-gaurds repeated their corn speech to the bandits. This ended well. At least the gate didn't need matching red paint anymore.

"Crap", spoke Bee as she came out of alleyway. The maiden was going to go to the inn and get a room, but before she did that she remembered that shady people sometimes sell things in back alleyways. They usually sold stolen objects, so it was never a good idea to buy from them, but when nobody had the ingredient you needed they where your best hope. Unfortunately this town did not have one, or it did not have one that was in a location that Bee thought they would be in. Those guys usually hung around two story buildings in a area hard to see by guards. Instead of finding a shandy merchant Bee found a mugger. To be honest thought this was not new. However that man soon discovered that every cute little girl walking around was not prey. HOwever that was a story for another day.
As Bee walked back toward the main street she heard screams and the sound of combat. It seemed that something was going on near the gate. The maiden was not curious and began to walk that way when suddenly a figure shot from around the corner and into the street. "Bandits", he shouted. The moment he passed Bee a man dressed in purple quickly followed behind and threw a hand axe toward his back. The bladed weapon sailed through the air and would have meet its mark if Bee had not intercepted it.
With a snap of her finger Bee called upon the magic inside of her Volcanon tome. The fire spirits responded to her command and clumped together. Then as soon as they clomped they violently separated from each other igniting the air along the way. The end result was a explosion that knocked the axe off its course and sent it flying into a nearby window.
"Hey, hey, hey, hey", shouted Bee as another brigand turned the corner and looked at his now weaponless friend. As Bee began to talk the brigand pulled another axe off his belt and began to prepare himself for combat. "Listen up you purple belly pig feet. You may not know it, but I am Bee. That is right Bee, spelled B E E. It is just like the insect, but without the sting. However my fires will burn you alive. If you are smart you will run away now and live, or you will face the flames of hell before being plunged into the fiery pit", shouted the maiden, at a very fast pace mind you, before she brought down her right hand infront of her and took a pose.
In Bee's mind this was perfect. She had been working on something to not only get the crowd attention, but make herself cool in the process. However for the bandits and anybody who looked at it Bee just seemed stupid. To make things worse she missed a perfectly good opportunity to fry these two brigands before they charged at her with axes.
"Kill the boy first", spoke the second brigand to the first as he turned his attention toward somebody else. His words cut deeper than any blade as the brigand denied Bee's womenhood.
"I am a girl you idiot", she shouted as the first brigand started running toward her axe in hand.
