Saya was out on a patrol on the countryside of Bern, as was her duty as a knight of the kingdom of Bern, though even with Bern currently being watched over by Ilia, she did not let that stop her from doing her duty normally as any knight would. With the wind blowing nice out on a fine afternoon out on the countryside, Saya decided to relax and feel the cool air that was blowing at her face in the sky, on top of her Wyvern. Saya looked over to the side and seen a pretty average size village, seeing she had not had some time off from patrol for over an hour she went down and landed near the village and dismounted her Wyvern and began to look for a inn and get some time to relax.
After some time of looking around in the village she finds the inn and begins goes in without any worry of trouble. “Finally I can get some time off from flying all over the countryside.” Saya looked for an area in the inn to relax at and decided to just sit at a table in the corner and began to sit back and relax, forgetting about all her duty and knighthood responsibilities and letting her mind doze off as she thinks about her younger days back home. "I sure miss the old days back at my home with just my mom and training with my dad, with no care in world about anything." Saya then let's out a soft, quiet sigh and begins to think about other events that had happened in her life, like the years of her training at becoming an official knight for the kingdom of Bern and aiming to become as good and as powerful as her father.

With an uncharacteristically loud slam, Sergeo pushed open the door to the inn as all eyes turned towards him. His skin was drenched in sweat while his boots, pants, and even some of his coat was covered in large mud stains from the work he had just completed for one of the larger farms in the village by wrangling up some their pigs that had gotten loose. This probably wouldn't have been a problem for Sergeo back when he was still swinging a axe back in Ilia, but 7 years of doing nothing but studying magic had made Sergeo very out of shape. A fact that he trying hard to hide, but failing to do very well.
Some of the inn patrons recognized who he was and laughed loudly at the wandering mage, but he didn't care, at least not right now he did. He took a seat in far in the back of the inn up next to a wall slammed his head down onto the table to almost emphasize how tired he was. A waitress walked up to his table help him take an order but Sergeo cut her off before she even had a chance to speak, loudly proclaiming "Water. In the tallest, coldest glass you have!"The waitress almost stumbled over her own feet trying to make it back to make it to the inn's back door, while the patrons laughs started to get louder and jokes at the expense of Sergeo started to flood the inn, but with one quick head raise and one dagger-throwing stare at all the patrons of the inn, the jokes and laughter soon came to a halt. He mumbled to himself in his exhaustion "Dad was right. Honest work was no way to ever make a real living." before collapsing on his table once more.

After sitting back and relaxing, Saya soon got a unbearable heat around her and quickly decided to get to get something to drink and fast. After walking up to the waitress of the inn she begin to ask the waitress for a drink. "Hey um waitress I really need something to drink, just give me some water or anything to drink, this heat is just killing me." After hearing what she wanted to drink the waitress hurried back to the counter in order to get the drink Saya asked and got out a medium sized cup and began to fill it up with water. Saya waited for the waitress to come back and after some time she arrived with the cup of water that she asked for.
"Thank you so much." After taking her drink, Saya hurried back to her seat and paying no mind to the surroundings and soon trip and fell over a man's bag, breaking her cup of water and spilling on the man's bag and fell to the ground and hit her head on the ground. After a few second of what had happen, the man looked angrily at the women who had accidentally tripped over his bag, out of anger the man grabbed Saya by the back of her armor and looked at her, yelling "You got any idea what you just did!?" Saya looked at the man , worried about how this could turn out and tried to calm him down by talking to him. "Um sir if you could just calm down maybe we can-" The man interrupted Saya right in the middle of her talking, showing no sign of calming down. "Calm down!? That was my food and clothes for my travels to Ilia and your clumsy face just ruined it with that darn water you dropped on it!" Saya now fears that this might turn into a fight if she doesn't calm him down soon.

Sergeo continued to wallow in his tiredness until the loud shattering of glass and some very loud and rude yelling. Looks like someone had walked into the inn while Sergeo was dead tired and had already found a way to pick a fight with some of the local farm hands. The person in question was a rather plain looking knight, though that lavender armor she was wearing along with that black hair of hers would make an otherwise uninteresting knight stand out in a crowd. The lavender color of her armor mildly bugged him though. If all the knights dressed in silly colors, no wonder why they lost the war with Ilia.
Speaking of the old country, looks like that gear she ruined was for a trip to Sergeo's old home. He could just see the mountains and mountains of snow covering the harsh country. The girl was trying to apologize it seemed, but the farmhands where so enraged at the clear accident that they seemed like they just wanted an excuse to punch someone. He needed to do something otherwise these lummoxes bad attitude would probably keep the waitress too scared to bring him his drink...oh and they would probably beat up that girl.
Getting up from his seat, Sergeo walked up to where the farmhand's bag was and gave it a nice swift kick as to knock the contents of it out of the bag. The angered men whipped their heads towards Sergeo. "WHAT Are you-" "Considering that I am a native of that frozen wasteland you plan on going to, consider this a free, helpful critique." The men just looked at Sergeo insultingly dumbfounded as this stranger just rummaged through their gear, when really Sergeo was just looking for a mistake that he could use to make them leave. The back was pretty normal for what might be expected in someones backpack that was going up to Ilia. Cloaks made of fur, dried rations, plenty of clothes, a sleeping bag, etc. Nothing he could really complain about, but by god he'd try. "What is this disgrace? Just one cloak? No tinder for you campfires? No twine or gloves or any weapons to hunt game with!?" he said tossing the dried rations they had into their faces. "And you thought you were ready for Ilia? Please you guys have so many rookie mistakes in these bags that you wouldn't last a day. Do you know how many dangerous elements you're fighting against?"
The farm hands just looked back at each other for a moment before Sergeo continued with his ranting. "Bitter cold, low visibility, civilizations few and far between, viscous wildlife, and lets not forget the Ilia's most dangerous element." As if he planned it, Sergeo grasped a butter knife from one of the other patrons tables and quickly put it towards the neck of man who was holding the solider girl by her armor. "Bandits. And not just any bandits...the kind of ruthless monsters that every other thug, punk, and highwayman wishes they could claim to be. The kind of bandits that come down from the mountains like an avalanche and destroy villages just as quickly. To them, two farm boys like you wouldn't stand a chance against such monsters. For this next bit Sergeo got in real close and whispered to the man in a very sinister way "Hell...I heard that when the villiages don't have enough food for them to take...they sometimes take a villager or two back to their camp site and...well lets just say the only thing that's ever left of those poor souls are their bones...picked clean." Of course Sergeo knew that this rumor was total crap, Ilia is full of bigger game like bears and deer that cannibalism wasn't ever needed be considered. But he doubted that these two chickenwusses would know any better.

The man stood there, looking at the person that came out and told him about the dangers of Ilia and the rookie and poor choices he made about his plans and choices of items in his bag that he was going to take there to Ilia. The man didn't know what to worry about, the fear of the dangers in Ilia or be enraged by the words and actions done to him by the unknown person that came in the middle of his argument with the Bern knight. After thinking for a few seconds of what to do, he let's go of the knight and tried to give an intimidating look at him and grab him by the front of his outfit. "You think you can just come up and talk to me like that, the best swordfighter in this village? You better walk away while you can boy. Or else theirs gonna be trouble." After giving the threatening words to him in hopes of getting him to leave and finish dealing with Saya. He waits for the man's reply.
Meanwhile Saya had sneaked away in order to get her lance outside in case of a fight breaking out over in the inn, which is what might happen at this point, seeing that the so-called Best swordfighter of the village was having no plans of backing down, despite having a little amount of fear in his voice and tried to hide it with his threats, mostly meaning he has little to no combat experience and mostly does threats to get people to back down and leave him alone. He would most likely get himself killed if he tried to start a fight.
After getting her lance, Saya rushed back to the inn and hided beside the door to the inn, ready to go in and stop the fight before someone gets hurt or even killed. "That sword guy better just shut his mouth before gets himself killed, that person looks like he could mess someone up, and I don't want to be the one that has to report that some guy got killed in a inn over some broken glass and spilled water."

It looks like Sergeo's little verbal berating worked well enough to get the big oaf to forget about the girl and focus solely on him, at least enough for the knight to sneak outside. Which is fine and good, but now he has to figure out how to get the big buffoon to leave him alone now without burning him to cinders. The buffoon grabbed Sergeo by the collar and besides the initial reaction of him suddenly getting jerked forward, Sergeo barely gave the man attention he wanted. He just looked away and rolled his eyes as the country boy talked about he was the best swordsman "Yeah you and three other morons that I beat today with my off-hand. Plus if you want me to leave you shouldn't have grabbed my cloak. Kinda hard to walk away when the idiot who wants me to leave is making it hard to by wrinkling my coat."
What Sergeo didn't plan on was the girl to come back into the inn brandishing a lance. At least she wasn't being awkward and holding the lance with a clear intent to use it if need be. "Maybe you should pay attention to the girl with the big pointy stick now tough guy." While the tough guy was busy looking at the guard girl, Sergeo, still having not been let go, moved his hands down towards the tomb he had strapped to his belt and started flipping through it. "I would probably listen to her warning if I were in your shoes. Especially since you don't know the man you're holding by the collar might not have such reservations."

The swordsmen soon realized that is big mouth had only made matters worse for him and knew that if he didn't do something soon he could get arrested for what he was doing to the two or could even get himself burned to death by the Mage or get ran through by the girl's Lance. Seeing he had no choice he choose to keep his life and body in one piece and let go of the Mage and ran out of the inn, looking back yelling. "Don't think this is over boy, I'll find you one day and run you through with my sword, same to you girl!No one makes a fool out of me and lives!" The swordsmen ran as fast as he could somewhere in the village after giving that wonderful line to the mage and Bern knight.
After that problem had happen, Saya decided to just let that thing of a man go, seeing as someone like him is not worth dealing with and Saya need to get back on duty soon and make up for lost time before she gets in trouble for slacking off from finishing her patrol around the countryside. Saya quickly went over to help clean up the spilled water and pick up the broken glass before someone stepped on the glass. After help cleaning of the water and glass she walked over the mage to thank him for helping her. "Thank you for helping me with that problem, I loved the part where you told him about the cannibal bandits, that was a good one. But anyway what's your name? Mine's Saya." Saya looked at the man who had helped her with dealing with that small problem, waiting for his answer.

Looks like the threat of being run through and set on fire finally scared off the big oaf. The farmhand finally let go of Sergeo's collar and went on about "How this wasn't over" and "I will be back" like every other scared though guy says when they are bested or outmatched. Sergeo was more focused about getting the wrinkles out of his collar and cloak only letting out a sarcastic "I'm sure you will." before continuing to adjust his coat and collar.
With the stupid farm hand gone, the inn was more or less back to its normal state with everyone keeping to themselves and finally the young inn maiden getting the mug of water he asked for. All these shenanigans had made Sergeo even more thirsty than he was when he walked in and proceeded to chug the water with gusto. The knight thou, wasn't leaving though. Did she want something? Or did she just wanted to make small talk? He brought the mug away from his face and inhaled deeply before speaking. "Don't mention it. The guy was loud and annoying so him getting out of inn means I have a moment of peace. My name is Sergeo, Mage-for-hire." he said trying to get use to presenting himself like a merc. "So...what is a knight of Bern doing causing mischief in a local inn?""You're not here to arrest me for threatening to burn a man alive are you?" he said taking another big drink from his mug and scanning the warrior girl from head to toe with his eyes.

After Saya had learned that the mage's name was Sergeo, who calls himself the Mage for hire, she began to guess he was a mercenary or something by his title but Saya had no need for mercenaries as her Captain would not like that and alot of other boring reasons, Saya decided to put her lance down after she no longer had any need use for it now that the man had ran out of the inn. After learning what she wanted from the man, Saya began to answer the questions that were asked by the mage. "Well you see I was just coming in here for a break and get something to drink for doing my duty and all that stuff. And then I may have rushed back to my table and may have accidentally ran over his bag and got the water all over it but at least no one got hurt right? And don't worry, I have no plan to arrest you, you did nothing wrong you were only just helping me with dealing with that small problem."
After talking to the mage Saya soon realized that she had lost track of time and would soon run late for her patrol duty. Saya quickly grabbed her lance and hurried to get out of the inn. "Look, sorry that you got dragged into that mess and all, but I really got to get going, I'm about to run late on my patrol and I really don't want to get yelled at by my Captain, maybe we can talk again some other time when something doesn't get in the way." Saya quickly ran out of the inn and began to run over to her wyvern, making she her wyvern was ok and safe before leaving. She mounted her wyvern and quickly flew off back to her normal patrol route and made up for lost time that she had wasted in the inn back in the village. "I really hope something like that doesn't happen again."

Sergeo just sat and listen like a good boy as the knight Saya talked about she was just only on her break and how the whole thing was an accident, which it most certainly was cause he doubted the girl would be into provoking the locals. Thankfully Saya wasn't going to arrest Sergeo either for threats of assault. Which was nice, stricter guards probably wouldn't hesitate to lock up a trouble making drifter. "Thanks...I probably couldn't get anyone to pay for my bail."
Sadly this little encounter had to end as Saya was going to run late on her patrol. "No problem little missy...just promise me that if you know anyone who would need my talents, just send them my way." He walked with her out the door and to his surprise, a big wyvern was just parked outside of the inn. It wasn't tied to a post or anything, it was just sitting like it was a trained pet. It didn't take long for him to put the pieces together in his head as Saya hopped onto the scaled creature and only a wave of her hands and whip of the reigns, it started to take to the sky. Sergeo just stood and watched the wyvern knight and her partner in crime fly off into the distance until they were barely small blobs of color on the horizon. "Well...at least something mildly interesting here in the backwoods, middle of nowhere place. I should probably leave this place too. I doubt a bunch of pig farms is going to be the place were my legend starts.":
