The sounds of fighting had gotten closer, slowly, the Chaklai started to move towards it. They hadn't received the order to charge yet, but the instinct to help was too great to ignore. They could hear the footsteps of others, the hoofbeats, of those coming closer. The first of the wounded had come to them. Men and women of all tribal colors with wounds that varied between minor to deadly. The staffs were soon alight with the warm glow of healing magic. Those on healers on foot went to each wounded man and woman to assess them. Then they'd heal what they could. They would have to ration out their healing. Ration their energies and supplies. These were only the first victims of battle, they knew many more would soon follow.
And then they saw it. A great plume of smoke coated in orange embers rising up into the night sky. The Eturians were planning to set the plains alight with fire. An effective strategy. Smoke would disrupt visibility. It would choke the air out of the lungs and cause disorientation. Burns from the fire were lethal without proper aid. The smoke would cause panic among the horses as their first instinct would be to run away from flame. The Eturian's knew exactly what they were doing. If they couldn't kill the Saceans head on then they would do everything in their power to cause chaos.
Midori didn't have time to think about that. Her attention was focused on the wounded. Her staff glowed softly healing the gashes of a wounded man. But, Ashes was growing restless. She was accustomed to the scent of smoke. She was used to campfires. But, fires of this scales, was something she wasn't used to. Smoke of such a large scale would cause her to panic. And Midori would have to strive to keep Ashes calm.

Before the men in the Etrurian group could join their ally in fighting Kenshin, the others had intercepted them. Their goal was to give Kenshin the ability to focus on a single foe at a time then join them, when the Sacaens would defend against bandit attacks or raid their camps on the plains it was the most common tactic. There were multiple reasons to it, the largest one was to cause a panic in even the most skilled warrior knowing he was fighting the legendary Crimson Demon, alone. Normally such strategy worked, but this dog of war from Etruria either didn't knew who he was facing or was extremely confident in his ability to fight.
It was evident that Kenshin wasn't going to go in for an attack, that he was waiting for his foe to come charging at him and counter attack. The man took a second to collect his thoughts as well as his discarded weapon. He knew he had an advantage against the armorless swordsman in front of him. Sizing up Kenshin he figured the stance he was in was a defensive one, Sacaens were known for their speed so getting around that with a close range weapon such as an axe was an uphill battle, not including the gust of wind he had felt as Kenshin was attacking. If he had expected it then it would have not caused him to stumble back in the manner he did.
"What are you waiting for? MURDER HIM!" the wind whispered into Kenshin's ear. Kenshin was sizing up his foe as well, whoever he was he wasn't half bad. Using his body as a shield to block Kenshin's attacks was a bold move to make, but it did allow him to stay in striking range after blocking an attack. He knew he would have to make a feign in order to be able to defend against an attack. Like a mad bull the man began to charge at Kenshin, almost head first. His axe was in his right hand, which was to Kenshin's left. He had to decided to side step towards the weapon or away from it, one side gave him more room before a blow to counter attack and the other gave it less time to build momentum.
For seasoned warriors there was only one thing they could rely on, their past combat experience guiding their instinct. Kenshin had moved towards his left, twisting his blade to face the left and bringing it down. His goal was to stop an attack, which had worked to a degree. The man had shifted his body then leading into a roll to avoid the attack leading into him turning while swinging his axe at Kenshin. If Kenshin hadn't been moving in response to the roll to better position himself he would have taken a heavy blow to the mid section, unfortunately he wasn't able to avoid the entire attack, taking a glancing blow. Kenshin almost screamed out in pain as the blade of the axe passed through him.
Meanwhile back in the Etrurian camp, the damages was more heavy than originally thought. As time passed they were able to get a better idea of how they were holding up. There were more that had died from their injuries from the arrows and some who thought their injuries weren't much proved to be greater than expected. As Oya started his counter attack, a messenger had arrived giving their forces other orders. All of the light calvary had gathered up waiting on their orders to charge when the heavy calvary was ready. When both sets were ready the light calvary had pushed out towards the Sacaens past the infantry.

Midori continued to heal the wounded man up until the point where his life was no longer in danger. The wound he sported had stopped bleeding and showed signs of clotting. That was as far as she could go for right now. She had to stop her healing before she over did it and became exhausted. Last thing she wanted to do was be useless on the battlefield. Ashes the horse was starting to panic. The sounds and struggles of the battle were starting to get to the docile creature. It started panting, snorting, and pacing her hooves. Midori gently tugged at the reigns and patted her horse. She leaned in and whispered comforting words to the beast. She needed to keep Ashes calm. She had to in order to do her job as a healer to the people. She couldn't heal if Ashes took off mid spell or if she started to buck wildly.
"Easy Ashes. It's alright." Midori spoke and the horse seemed to react. It let out a neigh and it's movements steadied. Midori let out a sigh of relief. Now she could refocus her attention on helping the others. Midori got off her horse and crouched down towards the wounded man. He was pleading with her in a tribal she didn't understand. But, Midori calmed him down with her speech. While it was all in the common tongue she used gestures to explain her actions. Remember Midori you must gain the trust of your patients. With Trust and Confidence they will let you heal them. and gradually bandaged the man's wounds. There wasn't much more that she could do for the man, he would need to heal naturally in the comforts of his own tribe. She told him that he was going to be alright, but needed to leave the field. The pink haired priestess got back up on her horse and went on to help the next fallen Sacean.
