Name: Eqwin
Class: Squire
Dragon Element: N/A
Age: 14
Born in: Etruria
Appearance: Eqwin is a somewhat large teen, at 5'7 and 130 lbs. He has blonde hair and blue eyes with a bit of green in them. His nose is a little misshapen, but you probably wouldn't notice if you don't look too closely. A smile usually takes up a decent bit of his lower face. He wears a green set of training armor, as his first priority as a squire was to protect himself and his horse.
His horse, Thoron, is a white mare with brown splotches. She has a set of training horse armor.
Personality: Eqwin is a very shy teen. He usually prefers not to talk more than necessary, and usually stays quiet except to ask something, for something, or to respond. Despite this, he greatly enjoys company of any kind and is generally a joy to be around. When he gets more comfortable, though, you'll find all of his conversation topics to be varied and usually unconnected, and he'll usually start the conversations. He's easily overwhelmed, and this causes him to get excited easily. He enjoys moderation with everything and will very quickly come to hate anybody who ruins this for him, despite being able to almost instantly do it himself when excited. He loves to pamper and serve the things he loves, whether they be animal, human, or even some objects if the ability to is there. He hopes of one day becoming a retainer or servant so that he can make a living out of this. He can get lost in his thoughts rather easily, and will often let his imagination take over. When he does talk to strangers, he does so politely, sometimes grossly so. He's easily scared and creeped out, and can be kept up and energetic for hours with the right words and darkness. He's fairly passive, often hesitating to go through with something without thinking of what will happen. This often gets him knocked from his horse and onto his ass.
History: Eqwin grew up with both of his parents and an older sister in a decently well off household. He would often be used as a servant by his sister, and once she accidentally conditioned him to enjoy running errands for others his parents started doing it too in exchange for a bump up in his allowance. He eventually saved up enough money to get riding lessons and his horse, Thoron, named after the speed of said spell's bolts (he didn't name her, the rancher who sold her to him did) and would pamper her greatly. He also used her to help with his errands. On one of these errands, a knight working for an Etrurian house proposed that he join them in service due to how often he'd see Eqwin doing tasks on horseback. Eqwin agreed, and soon became a squire.
NPC fight: "Alright, Eqwin. One of the basics of fighting on horseback is to control your horse's movement. If you cannot do that, you cannot fight." The instructor said from across the training grounds. "I'll charge at you and begin thrusting at you with my pole. I want you to get Thoron to dodge. Don't try to counter attack, just dodge."
"Yes, sir!" Eqwin replied as the older man charged at him. Right before he collided, the instructor hit his right leg against his horse's flank, and his horse hopped to a stop, it's right side facing Eqwin. From this position, the instructor could easily launch a thrusting attack, like he soon did. He trust the blunt stick in his right hand at Eqwin, who tapped the left side of Thoron's neck. Thoron bolted a short distance forward and to her left, getting out of the way of the attack.
"Nice work, Eqwin." His instructor said. "Have you being practicing?"
"Of course, sir!" He responded.
"Excellent. Are you ready to start practicing with a lance?"
"Yes, sir!" Eqwin enthusiastically lied. He hadn't really held much on horseback besides groceries. The stick he was given to hold while practicing felt nice in his hand and gave him a bit of confidence.
"Alright, for this exercise, I want you to charge and thrust at me while I'm on my feet." His instructor said. "Whenever you're ready."
"Don't worry Thoron, we've got this." Eqwin said while he stroked his horse's mane gently. After this, he got Thoron into position and charged, positioning his pole forward. Right before they were in range, Eqwin gave Thoron the signal to stop by standing up, using the stirrups on the saddle as ground for leverage. With Thoron's sudden stop, she leaned forward a bit, and with this momentum and what he had from standing up, Eqwin thrust the pole forward at his instructor. He dodged out of the way, but got hit in the arm with the pole. Despite this hurting quite a bit, his instructor laughed it off.
"Either you've been sneaking some sort of practice in or I'm getting rusty!" He said. "Good job, you've stabbed me, I'm dead." The old knight fell to his knees and made a decapitation motion, causing Eqwin to chuckle a bit. "But in all seriousness, that was a nice blow. If you had a spear with a wide enough head you could've taken my arm off." He said. "You're doing pretty well so far, Eqwin. I'm sure you'll make a fine knight one day."
"Thank you, sir." Eqwin said.
(I made the NPC fight a training routine because that's all Eqwin can probably handle at the moment. He won't be able to point a spear at anyone any time soon.)
PC fight: "Please don't attack me!" Eqwin sort of half-yelled, half-said. He got Thoron to face their right to Legia, and had his arm reeled back, spear in hand. "I don't want to fight, but I'll do what I must if you attack me! Please reconsider this, I don't want to have to hurt you! I don't even think I can!" He admitted. He missed his training "spear". It wasn't dangerous but could still be used the same as the one he actually had. Because of Eqwin's yelling, Thoron began to panic a little bit. It seemed almost impossible to get a clean hit in with the duo like this. Any hit would be met with either the sharp end of Eqwin's spear or Thoron's back hooves.
