Another night. Another dream. Bel didn't know where or when she was. But, she did recognize the red headed woman from the last weird dream she had. This time this woman explained that this was a world in the middle of their fall harvest celebration. Dressing up in costume was highly recommended. Supposedly this dress up was a way to deter evil spirits that would harm the future crops. Some of the costumes were reserved. Others were a bit more salacious. But, while others were frolicking and enjoying the festivities. Bel, found herself working. She was at one of the stalls acting as a sort of booth babe. The stall she was at sold everything from sweet honey treats to bee-wax products.
Belinda was dressed for the occasion. The Anna who assisted her through this dream festival world, found her the perfect outfit. She had what was called a leotard. Which was something that resembled the bathing suits of the weird beach world. She wore black tights to have some sort of modesty with her legs. The leotard was very form fitting. And it accentuated a fair amount of her matronly curves. Especially, among the bust and the butt. But, the leotard also sported yellow and black stripes. She had a headband on with black glass and fake antennae. One of the antennae had a tiny golden crown on it. On her back attached to the suit were a pair of large bee wings. She wasn't sure what magic was at work, but she swore she could feel them move. Her scepter was a large clean honey wand. She was encouraged to try and make bee puns.
And she wasn't sure what it was, but business at the honey bun stall was booming.

Eqwin woke up. Without opening his eyes, he tried to roll over to the side of his bed and sit up. When he tried this, he hit a wall. Had he somehow flipped himself over in his sleep? He opened his eyes, and instead of being graced with the familiar scenery of his own room, he was in some strange town. The air was that perfect autumnal temperature. How? He was pretty sure it was summer. Before he could walk around on his own, a red haired lady had approached him. He immediately turned his head in embarrassment when he realized she was wearing... Well, let's say less than optimal clothing for the weather. Before Eqwin could blurt out any questions like "What in Elibe are you wearing?", "Could you put some clothes on?", or "Aren't you cold?" the lady began to explain what was going on in a fashion mimicking a cat. Apparently, there was a festival going on in this entire world where people would dress up in costumes to ward evil spirits away from their crops. How that worked whatsoever was something Eqwin didn't bother to think about. Not only did the previous Anna's advice of "Don't think too hard about it" ring again in his mind, he was still stuck on what this Anna was wearing.
"Uh... I-Is attire like that normal for this festival?" He said, pointing all over at her.
"Nyes it is, nya!" This iteration of Anna, who was wearing a rather low amount of clothing, alongside cat ears and a tail. "This is rather reserved compared to some costumes I've seen today, nya!" She struck a pose, and Eqwin looked away again. He needed a mask or something else to cover his face, because otherwise he'd die of embarrassment. The young squire reluctantly followed Anna to get a costume of his own, his mind going blank whenever she had to take measurements of his body for the costume. "Don't you worry, nya! I've found a costume that'll fit you perfectly!" She said, before disappearing in the jungle of costumes. When she returned to him, his face became so red his feet were probably pale.
"I'm not wearing that!" Eqwin magically managed to say. It was a dog costume similar to Anna's own cat outfit. He wore more than that at the beach! He quickly glanced around for something; anything that he could wear instead of that. Otherwise he'd just get a pillow and blanket and pretend that his pajamas were part of a "someone who just woke up" costume.
"We really don't have any other costume that fits you!" Cat Anna said to him. "C'mon, don't you wanna match, nya~?" She asked, with a wink. Eqwin immediately turned his head away.
"Cats and dogs don't match!" He choked out. Anna grabbed him and brought him closer to herself. It took all he had not to look right at her.
"Come nyon. It'd really fit you, nya~." She said.
A couple minutes later, Eqwin came out of the costume shop with the outfit on. The compromise for him wearing this was that he got to wear a shirt and pants under it. Even so, he felt embarrassed. He could've dressed up as something cool, like an actual knight or something, but he let the Cat Anna coerce him into wearing this. He didn't even get a mask. Feeling some sort of emotion, and with a lot on his mind, he decided to get something to eat. Something soft and squishy might- No. He furiously shook his head. He'd get something. He looked around again and saw a stall saying something about bees. It seemed to be doing quite well, so he decided to go too. What could they be selling that was bee related? Honey? Obviously. But in what form? He'd just have to find out. He made his way to the stall, got in line, and waited his turn. He eyed to products on display. They all looked delicious in their own ways. When he got up front, he froze. Some people in front of him prevented him from seeing the employee. Not only did she seem eerily familiar, but... The outfit she was wearing... At least it covered more than Anna's cat suit. He cleared his throat and nervously looked around.
"I-I'd like a honey bun, please." He muttered, his eyes refusing to make any sort of contact with Belinda. She was technically wearing more than him, so why was her outfit... Like that? He felt like he needed to say something to lessen the tension in the air before it crushed him to death. "S-So uh... This stall is generating a lot of buzz, huh?"

Belinda was doing her best not to lash out at the customers. Most of them were regular folk who genuinely wanted some sweet treats. Others, were, not, so sweet. A few of the males of various ages, kept making the line to get a better look at the queen bee and her other subjects. But, this wasn't the first time Belinda was thrust into this situation. The first few days of her independence were riddle with seedy looks from various inn patrons. But, she was an adult now. Able to take care of herself. And perfectly capable of working the crowd if it meant that those perverts would continue to pay the good bakers for their buns. Though this mysterious dream world seemed to have no shortage of wheat, butter, honey, and yeast. Almost as if it were magically suppled. But, she digressed. So long as the lechers kept their distance she wouldn't have to resort to using her wand as a weapon.
She was so caught up in her work though that she almost failed to notice the lad coming up to her. She had mistaken him at first for another child in costume. There were plenty of kids and adults in costume in this festival. Some were more creative that others. This one appeared to be a dog. She had to admit the ears looked very cute. She tilted her head for a moment and thought to herself. She had seen this boy before. Perhaps in the other dream world with the tropical beach.
"Of course you can. Young man." She grabbed him a fresh bun off the tray. The sweet honey mixture was swirled into the bun. She handed it to him with a bit of waxy parchment paper.
"Oh yes. It's been very buzzy." And then it dawned on her. Who this young man way.
"Ah, if it isn't Eqwin. Didn't think I'd see you again after the last dream world."

Eqwin was glad that his pun was answered in kind, and received his honey bun. That kind of helped relieve the tens- Eqwin looked at the lady in surprise at the sudden utterance of his name. The fact that someone who he thought a complete stranger knew his name in this strange dream world was more important to him than her outfit. "How do you-" Cut off again, Eqwin finally recognized her after getting a good look at her face. "M-Miss Belinda?!" He exclaimed in shock. He remembered her now. She was there in the other dream world. Even there, it was hard to look at her, so he didn't recognize her at first. He did embarrass himself last time, and he'd put money on him doing it again. Oh, he already did, due to his horrendous costume. "I- I uh.. I didn't think I'd see you either, ma'am.." This was the longest the two of them had ever maintained eye contact, before Eqwin realized what was happening, and looked away. He didn't do so fast enough to stop his face from becoming just so slightly redder. He remembered he was holding a line up, and decided to get out of everyone's way. He didn't leave, however. He had too much stuff he had to talk about with Miss Belinda. Stuff so important that it outweighed running away from their costumed interactions. "Uh.. Miss Belinda?" He asked. "Um.. You wouldn't happen to have any idea why we're here... do you?" Somehow, the serious topic helped him take his mind off of how much Belinda resembled an hour glass.
"I-I know I can't be the only one who finds it weird, right? We- We've both been sent to these dream worlds twice during 'fun' occasions. A-and at the same time as well. Last time I-I fell asleep next to my horse in her stables and woke up on that... Beach?" He paused to recall the word. "I- I know Miss Anna... Well, Misses Annas keep telling me not to think to hard about it, but how could I not? I mean..." He bit into the honey bun to prove something to himself. It was absolutely delicious. The bread was well baked and tasted good, and the heat from the bun made the honey a little thinner. "This tastes great! If i-it wasn't for getting whisked off to this world, I probably would've never eaten this. But... Why? Last time, if I remember correctly, one of the Misses Annas told me that a god had maintained that beach world.. Doesn't that seem sort of absurd, ma'- Miss Belinda? A being with so much power... Able to create worlds... In whatsoever image it pleases... And it just chooses a summer beach?" He said after swallowing the bite he took from the bun. No matter how unbelievable the circumstances, he wouldn't talk with his mouth full. He looked at the honey that glazed his treat. He could kinda see his reflection in the honey. He looked absurd with these dog ears on. His nose tip was even painted black. "Umm..." He paused for a second to structure his next question. "Do you think this place is the same? Why would some powerful deity create a world for something like this, and then drag people into it? I... can kind of understand, I think.. Everyone just has things they like, y'know. Maybe this is just what they like. They just happen to have the power to make these things reality... If you had this kind of power, what would you do with it?" His gaze was still locked onto himself in the honey.
"I have complete faith that you're a real person. This isn't just a dream. I've never tasted anything like this honey bun, and..." The blood that had been leaving his face over his whole monologue had come back in an instant. "I uh... I don't think I'd um.. dream some things up, ma'am- I mean, Miss Belinda." He said, his eyes quickly darted at her costume and away again. How could she bear to wear it? The Anna that approached him's costume was somewhat more revealing, but Miss Belinda's felt... Worse...

"I'm glad you remember me." She smiled lightly. There were so many people here and so few faces. She wished her little niece and nephew were here. They would have loved to see something like this. She could almost feel them tugging at her hips for more sweet bread or perhaps a ride on her shoulders. Eqwin was wise enough to move out of the way of line after he got his sweets. Belinda continued to work while the young man went on about his questioning. And.. his questions were good questions.
"No idea why we are here. Or why we are here.. in a world of festivals twice. But, it's nice." She commented.
"Festivals are not uncommon back home. But, they are never this.. full. There's usually a shortage of something. But, here, there's a surplus of all things." She spoke in between handing out more swirly sweet buns. There was a brief lull in the line as one of the other workers started to restock the rack she grabbed the pastries from. The woman took a moment to stretch out her back a bit. She felt a few things crack and pop as she did. While the work she was doing was rewarding, she really wished she had a chair. One of the other workers saw this. And decided to give her a bit of a break. The other woman who was dressed not as a creature. But, her dress was orange and the apron had a big jack o lantern face on it in to match the theme. Her hair was tied back with a big green ribbon.
"I'll give ya ten minutes Bel."
"Thank you dear." She took a bun for herself and stepped aside. This allowed her to get a bit closer to Eqwin. And she took a bite of the sweet buns she'd been peddling. The young lad was right. These buns were delicious.
"Well, I really suggest you take the Anna's advice and don't think to hard on it. But, if you really want a response well." She spoke in between bites.
"I think I'm a real person." She put a hand over her chest.
"And I've never met you in my reality either. At least.. I don't think so. But.. dreams are mysterious things. And no one can agree where they come from. Or what they mean. I don't know the answer to your questions. But, I can give you my thoughts.. of what is going on." She finished her bun. And was trying to wipe away the lingering stickiness off her fingers. Do. not. lick.
"When you sleep, there is a chance to dream. Your.. mind makes that dream. Conscious or not.. you are the creator of your dream world. You are technically it's god. Weather you have control over the individual aspects of that dream.. well that's a different matter." She thought for a moment.
"I.. think.. that these worlds.. are not the dream of one creator. But, an amalgamation of dreams of everyone here. Everyone is dreaming the same thing. Dreaming of the same festival. And some outside cosmic force is putting those dreams into something stable. And I do not think.. that everyone here.. is from the same place. Or even the in the same time, Or the same world. Some.. things here.. have magic and machinery that is not seen in my Elibe." The shamaness pointed towards one of the entertainers in the stalls. A man was dressed up as a court jester. Pay him a coin. And he could shapeshift himself into the person who paid him. The trick didn't last very long. But, it was still very impressive. And then he would give the littlest ones some sort of sack filled with air on a string. Balloons. She only recently learned that word.
"And these coins." She held one out.
"I've never seen coins like this before. I had the Anna explain it to me as I picked out the costume." They were gold coins. Minted with a crest she'd never seen before.
"But, yet here they are. And everyone isn't weirded out by them. Or confused.. everyone.. is just enjoying.. and accepting this world of festivities. Whatever cosmic force or god.. that is unifying everyone's dream.. into a literal world.. is doing a great job. And you.. should go out an enjoy it." She smiled. And handed him a handful of coins.
"You don't know how long you've got left in the dreaming world. So you should enjoy the fun and games when you can. And don't get stuck working behind the stalls like I am." She gave him a pet on the head and ruffled his hair a bit. Then waved and returned back to her place behind the booth. She cracked her knuckles and was ready to tackle the line of people, who wanted to throw money at her.

Eqwin listened to Belinda's explanation of what she thought of the dream world. It made a lot of sense. This world didn't seem like a "real" world, somehow. The fact that he was in such an absurd place with other real people, with things that didn't exist in his own world, made him think that it wasn't a "real" dream. He could feel his pajamas, and this goofy costume over it. He could feel the fake dog ears on his head, the waistband with the fake dog tail, and the paint on his nose. It was "real" but "fake" at the same time. If he tore his pajamas, they'd likely be fine when he woke up. He wasn't going to test that with his favorite set of sleepwear, though. Belinda handed him some coins, much to his shock. He felt guilty, getting money from her hard work. She couldn't really go out and spend it herself, though, since she was working for the honey bun stall as it's "main attraction". Would she even get the chance to spend her hard earned money? She might wake up before all of this was said and done, and wouldn't even get the chance to enjoy herself that much. Maybe she enjoyed working at the stall? She reached up and ruffled his hair, a gesture that, although would've worked better if he didn't have two inches of height on her, still made his face flash red. She went back to the stall and he clutched the coins she gave him. He decided his course of action. He'd spend half of these coins on himself, and then bring some things back for her with the other half. It was the least he could do, right? "Thank you, Miss Belinda." He said, waving back and hurrying off.
Eqwin spent some time wandering around, looking for things that he could bring back to Miss Belinda. While he personally enjoyed game stalls, he couldn't bring them to her while she was working. He spent the half he designated for himself, and then thought hard for a bit. He had no idea what Belinda liked. Well, he could safely say that she wasn't a tomboy, judging by her willingness to wear her costume. Maybe flowers? Well, she's dressed as a bee, so maybe not. What do his mother and sister like? Maybe she has similar tastes to those two? They liked scented candles and flowers, those types of things. Where could he possibly find those at this festival? He looked around for a bit before eyeing a shop run by some incarnation of Anna. This one was wearing a rather modest costume, thankfully for the young squire. She was dressed as a nun. Eqwin approached her. "Excuse me, Miss Anna? Would you happen to know any stalls that sell something a gir- a lady would like?" He asked her.
"Yep! Follow me!" Anna said enthusiastically, and lead Eqwin to a rather shady looking stall. Hesitantly, Eqwin looked at the wares, picking up a candle with weird markings on it.
"That one's a real beauty!" The shop owner, whom Eqwin failed to notice was another Anna beforehand, said. "It smells like whatever the person who lit it wants it to smell like!" Eqwin was astonished by that. How? Magic? He trusted what the salesman said in this strange dream world, and purchased the candle. With just one coin left, he thought about what else he could use it for. Oh yeah, flowers. On the way back, he spent the last coin on a small bundle of rather pretty flowers, and then head right for the honeybun stall.
Eqwin waited in line to see Belinda. While he felt that it might've been OK to just go by the side and give them, he felt it'd be unfair to the other people in line to hold it up without waiting for his turn. When he got to the front again, he thrust the candle and flowers out to Belinda. "Thank you for the coins, Miss Belinda! I really enjoyed my time at the festival, and I want you to do the same!" He said. "The flowers are just ordinary flowers, but the candle is pretty special. Apparently, it smells like whatever you want when you light it." He realized he didn't know if it actually did so. "Or uh... So I was told. I- I didn't test it." Eqwin thought about whether he should get another honey bun since he was already here, but decided against it. If anything would be brought back to the real world with him, it'd have to be a cruel prank by the deity of this place to make it the extra weight from all the delicious treats. "Have a nice day, Miss Belinda! I'll probably see you in the next dream world." He said, as he began to leave the stall.

A few hours later-
Belinda was done! The stall was done! She and the other workers of the stall were all done with their shift. And they had sold every single sweet bun that they had. But, there would be more buns to sell tomorrow. Eqwin returned in time to catch Belinda at the end of shift. And before she could speak and possibly disappoint the young lad, he surprised her. He thrust at her a gift of a scented candle and a bouquet of flowers. She was taken aback by this nice gesture. Sure she'd gotten gifts before. But, they were usually a bit more mature. The night stand she had in her flat was one of them. The cabinet that held some of her finer pieces of tableware and glasswork. Was also a gift. But this.. she wasn't sure what to feel about this. It was such a nice little genuine gesture.. that.. well she had do do something. And before Eqwin could get too far. Belinda made sure to collect her pay. She put on the small cape that came with her costume. Put the candle in her little bag and followed Eqwin. When she caught up to him she grabbed him by the arm and pulled him away gently.
"And.. where do you think you are going?" She spoke. There was a little bit of sternness in her voice.
"You left before I could even get in a word of thanks." She explained.
"That's kind of rude, young pup." She smirked a bit.
"I don't know too many people here in this dream world. And I want to play some of these games and drink some cider." Belinda didn't have a time as a child to really enjoy a festival. She rarely had time to play. Her father was a strict man, who imposed on her strict lessons and study. What little time she had to play as a child was cherished. And yet here she was in this dream world surrounded by stalls full of games and fun.
"Join me."
