It's been a long time since I've actively posted here, but an urge to read my old writing brought me back and with it, a wave of memories from the (checks notes) 12 years since I first registered an account on this forum. Fire Emblem: Way of the Warrior was my very first experience with roleplaying with people I had never met and it shaped the kind of creator I would grow to become. If I had to pin it down, my obsession with making characters started here, with some of the very first OCs I ever made. OCs that I still resurrect to this day to use in my various D&D campaigns and as protagonists when a video game lets me make my own hero. But most of all, it was the people, the community that kept me coming back. I was an edgy, awkward 17 year old when I found this place, but y'all accepted me all the same. Y'all let me tell the stories of Marcus and Kelvin (and all the other PCs I made and quickly forgot) and let them into your stories in kind and that's a comradery I have found few other places. The stories were never perfect, but they were ours and they are memories I'll never forget.
I guess this is something of a eulogy for the time I spent here. It was one of the first online communities I was ever a part of. It was there as I matured and grew into adulthood. But time cannot flow backwards and myself and the site have grown far apart. As much as I would love to spend my time posting here, life has other plans. I'll always cherish this place. And I'm sure I'll return time and time again to retread the adventures I experienced here.
To everyone I RPed with, to those I shot the crap with in the chatbox, to those whose posts I read, to those who were simply here the same time as me: thank you. I can't express how you all touched my life in one way or another. If anyone wants to reach out to me, I'm on Discord at WildThembo#0867.
So yeah. Thanks, y'all.
