I just heard about it about 10 minutes ago or so, and I can see why there's a whole lot of hype for it. It's a Wii exclusive FPS that looks pretty damn beautiful for a Wii game.
That's just a tech demo, and I think that looks sweet. Hopefully, it will completely live up to the hype... Maybe no FC, too? Plus WiiSpeak, or maybe (unlikely, but possible) there will be headphones made to work w/ the Wii? Anyway, looks awesome!

It DOES look awesome! Almost makes me glad I actually decided to not get a 360 or PS3 (Though MGS:4 Was still awesome...can never expect anything with Hideo Kojima involved).
Anywho, now I officially want it, and the potential lack of FC makes me REALLY happy.

Yeah, hopefully no FC, plus it was inspired by popular FPS... FPSs? FPSes? Whatever, First Person Shooters. Namely, Half-Life, Halo (I think, anyway, it's Sci-Fi w/ humans against aliens) and (Best one, IMO) Goldeneye. The original one, and some of the character models (Well, the hands you see when reloading, anyway) seem like they're updated from Goldeneye or Perfect Dark. Namely, this:

That's so Goldeneye man! I have so many good memories with that game it's not even funny...and lots of games have Humans against Aliens...
Halo series Resistance series Technically Gears of War etc.

That's true... And, even during last-gen, I loved playing Perfect Dark and Goldeneye... I just didn't own them. Seriously, is it just me, or were the Temple levels identical in those? Anyway, sad news, no co-op, but online's in, and fully customizable controls. If it is similar to Goldeneye/Perfect Dark, though, that would be SWEET! Sure, aliens would change the feeling, but if it's similar, I think it would be the most popular game for the Wii, especially if a third-party group comes out with a headset for the Wii

No online co-op? Dam- I wanted to partake in a gleeful round of Alien stomp with some pals...-sobs and melees a few grunts in Halo 2- But yeah I can tell it's going to be one of the, if not thee most popular Wii game (Smash bros aside). and I still play golden eye, it's unusually fun still, as I do Perfect Dark (Laptop gun ftw...unless I'm thinking of something else).

-=DEVELOPER=-
The Conduit is a futuristic first-person shooter developed by High Voltage Software exclusively for the Wii using the Quantum3 engine.
-=CONTROLS=-
The shooting controls of The Conduit were inspired by Metroid Prime 3: Corruption and Medal of Honor: Heroes 2. The Conduit will utilize user customizable control features, such as
the ability to alter the size of the bounding box, the speed at which the player can move the camera, and cursor sensitivity.
You can also completely customize your HUD. If you want to move year health bar you can, also you can completely remove all the objects on the HUD. All of these options can be adjusted in real time without having to leave the adjustment screen in order to try the changes.
You can completely remap the controls even motion controls.
You can adjust the characters running speed.
-=GAME PLAY=-
The Conduit is a futuristic FPS. A unique point of the game is a device known as the ASE, or All-Seeing Eye. The ASE can detect hidden mines scattered throughout the level by enemies, or reveal secret features in the environment that allow the player to progress.
The game will feature many different guns, from alien to futuristic human weaponry.
-=GUNS=-
Plasma Ball Gun: Fires plasma balls that have the ability to bounce off of surfaces before exploding upon impact(sounds pretty cool to me)
Scoped Semi auto Rifle: You can snipe and fire from the hip pretty effectively. (don't quote me on the guns name lol)
MP5KA4: Typical high rate of fire gun, probably a sub machine gun.
MK4 Deatomizer: You can charge this gun up and send out multiple beams that can reflect in different directions and kill the drudge, or charge it and send out large a beam to kill a single enemy( not sure how this works maybe it has different fire modes)
Plasma Beam Gun: Fires off orange plasma beams. People seem to like how this gun reloads, check out the videos and decide for yourself.
Shotgun typical shotgun (a very rare gun in gaming if you ask me)
Pistol: Fairly standard pistol A silenced, laser sighted version of the pistol is also shown.(attachments for weapons? I hope)
Grenades: you get 3 frag grenades and 3 special grenades( don't know what special grenades are yet.)
-=THE BAD GUYS=-
The enemies of The Conduit, an alien race called the Drudge, also incorporate various devices to defeat or hinder the player. Among these is the Drudge portal, or Conduit, they allow the Drudge enemies to spawn from them until they are destroyed by the player. Several other Drudge devices, such as a "Re-generator Unit" and "Pulse Box," will also appear in the game, but their purposes have yet to be revealed.
The Drudge are said to have advanced AI allowing them to adopt unusual strategies in combat, including recognizing when they are outmatched by the player and then proceeding to run away. (however that doesn't sound to incredible advanced yet.)
-= MULTIPLAYER=- Multiplayer in The Conduit will feature at least three competitive multiplayer modes for online play, including Deathmatch and Capture the Flag modes. Multiplayer will feature up to 16 players simultaneously.
No splitscreen multiplayer......sorry. However LAN is a possibility.
-=PLOT=- In the near future, Washington, D.C. begins to experience several strange phenomena. A mysterious flu-like virus, "The Bug," sweeps through the region, causing high-security buildings to be left understaffed as government workers stay home to try to avoid catching the disease. Months after the initial outbreak, a terrorist attack destroys part of Washington Monument, and only weeks afterwards on September 11, a presidential candidate is assassinated by another terrorist cell disguised as her Secret Service detail, heightening national tensions.
Following these alarming events, a secretive organization known as the Trust realizes that the capital has become the epicenter for an extraterrestrial attack by an alien race identified as the Drudge. "John Adams," the enigmatic commander of the Trust, directs a newly inducted Trust agent codenamed "Mr. Ford" to infiltrate the area and find the truth behind the sudden attack. Along the way, Mr. Ford must overcome the onslaught of the Drudge, a group of traitor Trust members led by a man calling himself "Prometheus," and virus-infected humans under the Drudge's control. In the end, Mr. Ford will discover the horrifying truth of how far the conspiracy reaches.
-=Graphics=- It has been said that by the time the game is finished it will look like a 360 or ps3 title graphically. It will feature vertex and pixel shaders- specifically, dynamic bump-mapping, reflection and refraction, light/shadow maps, projected texture lights, specular and Fresnel effects, missive and iridescent materials, advanced alpha blends, light beams/shafts, gloss and detail mapping, seamless resource streaming, projected shadows, heat distortion and motion blur, interactive water with dual-wave channels and complex surface effects, animated textures, and more.
High Voltage Software is currently aiming at a steady 30 frames per second frame rate with no drops for the game.Alright, gathered from GameFAQs, but still. Link: www.gamefaqs.com/boards/genmessage.php?board=947068&topic=44449983I copied it directly, just deleted the Post Detail stuff
