Kelvin, now very interested in what Rayl had said, followed after Chelsea to the place where he had kissed her earlier. Normally he would have left once he realized where he was, but he wanted to know what news Rayl had sent, as well as repair a broken relationship. He sat down near her and waited for her to finish reading the letter.

OOC: MADNESS! IT's the Kelvin/Chelsea and Rayl Support! D: Now for fragment one of the letter!
IC: The Letter began as follows:
My dear friend Chelsea,
I wound have very much rater have told you this in person, however the distance between us has prevented us from doing so. Do not tell the others of my plans with Marquess Pherae, but we decided I must go to Bern to see if I can get Ilia to ally with us and release Bern from it's control.
We attempted to travel through Araphen, where we were stopped. After some...rather uncivilized business involving the previous Marquess, a new Marquess was elected, a funeral was performed, and I obtained information about your father in this city...

As Chelsea read, her eyes lit up. Her father! She was right! Rayl obviously would have rather done this in person so he could see how happy she is! And so he could unite them! She turned to Kelvin with a big grin on her face. "Sir Rayl's found my father!"

...however this news is...not what you would hope for...
recall how I had snuck you through Araphen. The former Marquess hated the Sacaen nomads, your people. If he had known you were with us, he would not have let us out alive...your father had wandered Lycia for some time, before trying to leave through Araphen...
The Marquess captured him and...he was long gone before I had arrived...I am sorry...
Please do not be angry and seek revenge. When we tried to leave Araphen, he and his guards attacked us...I was forced to strike him down...I did not wish to, but it was out of concern for you that brought me to do it. I know the people of Sacae are known for their honor, and I did not wish for you to ruin your life with anger in the hopes of avenging him...
...I wish I could be there to comfort you as a friend, however as you know I must continue my mission...I can never understand the pain you are in, but I can only pray your friends around you may comfort you and help you through these trying times...
Your loyal friend and servant,
Sir Rayl

Chelsea was speechless. No. It couldn't be true. Not her father. Not him. He was too strong. He had survived so much. There's no way. She shook her head as tears started to stream down her face. "No... no, no, no... I-It can't be... no..."
Then she completely lost it. She screamed out. This couldn't be happening. Not her father. Not now. Not after everything else that had happened to her. Not after all the way she'd travel. Nathan... mother... now father? She dissolved into tears, falling onto Kelvin for support. She cried her eyes out into his chest. She never thought they'd stop.

As Chelsea lay there in his arms, sobbing, he found himself at a loss for words. He knew that this was a very tough moment for her and he wanted to make sure whatever he said, he thought about its outcomes first. He was starting to sound like Merio. He thought for a moment and realized that it was probably best to say nothing at all, and just let her get her emotions out before he said anything. So he just held her there in his arms and comforted her.

She hadn't cried this hard since Nathan died. Her mother's death hadn't been too hard, because she had known it was coming and had time to prepare. Even Nathan's death wasn't as harsh, because there was a small period where she could brace for it. But this... She just kept crying into the cavalier's chest, shaking slightly as she did. This had to be a dream. It couldn't be real.

When Kelvin finally spoke up, he rested his head on hers, and said, "I'm so sorry. What the former Marquess did was inhuman, and he deserved every punishment Rayl gave him." Kelvin paused for a moment, closing his eyes.

The archer gave a little nod to acknowledge Kelvin. That evil man... he deserved worse. She wish she could cause him as much pain as he had caused her. But... Rayl was right to kill him. If it had been her... she would have sunk to his level. And that would have shamed her and her father. Her father... Her thoughts dwelt on his loving face. How he would never be able to hold her in his arms again... Chelsea's tears redoubled as she thought more and more about him.

Chelsea began crying even more, and Kelvin felt even more helpless. It hurt him to see her this broken up, but he didn't know what he could do. "I'm sure he's in a better place. Just remember, you're not alone," he said, letting his voice trail off.

She sniffed several times as she looked at him, her eyes still swimming with tears. "T-T-Thank you... S-Sir K-Kelvin..." She took in a few deep breaths. "I-I'm sorry about b-before..."

Kelvin was a little puzzled, what did she have to be sorry about? Anything that had gone wrong had been his fault, "What do you mean?" he said, opening his eyes and looking down at her.

She sniffed again, fighting back more tears. "I-I j-just ran away... I-I didn't g-give you a chance to explain..." She tried to wipe away some tears as she looked up at the cavalier. "A-And... yo-you've been s-so n-nice today..."

"You had a right to run away. What I did was reckless and uncalled for. I forced that upon you without even considering your feelings. If anything it is me who should be apologizing."

Before she could say anything else, another wave of sadness overtook her. As more and more tears spilled from her eyes, she buried her face in Kelvin's chest again. It took her several minutes to calm down again. She took out Rayl's handkerchief and wiped her eyes on it before she spoke. "I-I forgive you..." She sniffed a few times as she looked up at him.
