Akasha summoned some darkness into his hands, then hardened it until it was strong enough to pierce armor, and threw it at the thief; when it struck home, he threw another hardened shadowball.
Soon, the thief collapsed and Akasha grinned. "One down, one to go; Tionne, can you blind the curate?"

"Hmm... You are strong, shaman, very strong. But how will you fare against me, hmm?"
The dark mage looked up from examining his tome. In front of him, a few yards away, stood a mage in red clothing. He was addressing him, but Shadow did not say a word. To him, talking to a dead person was pointless. This man would die by the dark powers the shaman possessed, and that was all there was to it. To Shadow, speaking to him was illogical.
"The silent type, hmm? Well, don't you worry, pathetic shaman. You will die, and I will be sure to make it quick. And once you're dead, we shall see what you are hiding under that hood of yours."
With that said, the mage made the first move. He twisted around, sending a ball of fire towards the shaman. It was apparent that the foe was somewhat novice, due to his loud grunt he made from using magic. Shadow saw this attack coming, but he did not dodge it. Instead, the shaman grabbed one side of his cloak, and held it firmly to one side. Once the ball of fire was about to hit him, Shadow brought up his cloak in a defensive motion. As he did so, there was a moment of intense heat that came at the dark mage. This moment faded, as he brushed off the attack with his moving cloak.
Shadow then let the cloak fall back into place, and he stood facing the mage. Even from afar, the shaman could tell the man was shocked. What a fool. He honestly believed himself to be something powerful, when he clearly was not. Very well; time to end this display. The dark mage held out his tome, summoning the power from the weapon and within. Using the opposite hand, he forced out his arm, letting loose three dark orbs. These orbs, however, were not like the one that came from Flux. Each had a strange dark fire emanating from them. It was a sight to be held as they enclosed upon their victim for one moment. The next moment, they simultaneously slammed into the mage, causing great damage.
Still, the attack was not enough. Shadow simply repeated his procedure, having the same effect upon the already wounded anima-user. The shaman watched as the helpless mage was crushed once more by his darkness, all the while smiling his sadistic smile. Once the opponent fell to the ground dead, Shadow knew he was done. He could now go back to seeing to Tionne's safety.

Tonne let out a sigh of relief before the outer barrier collapsed, which made him worry; clearly, the curate was strong enough to use a Sleep staff, let alone cause a barrier to fall! When Akasha asked him about blinding the curate, he immediately knew what to do.
Summoning a Pumpkin Lantern, he threw it at the curate, who tried to use the Barrier staff to absorb it, which Tionne was counting on. When the first lantern was absorbed, he threw another one, which exploded and blinded the curate, who was busy screaming about his eyes.
After a moment of catching his breath, Tionne conjured a some light and threw it as hard as he could, which made the curate fall to his knees.

From behind the two magic users, the shaman saw his way through them like the shadow he truly was. In silence, Shadow was in front of Tionne and Akasha. He had his tome in his left hand, outward and ready. He began to conjure the darkness within. The next move he made would surely be devastating towards the man with the staves.
Of course, the prediction he made to himself was true. As the three dark orbs simultaneously struck the man, they seemed to go straight through any defenses the curate had put before him. Again, this was all thanks to his Luna tome. Its main offensive position was designed specifically to penetrate through any magical resistance. Thus, the attack made by Shadow forced the man of staves to fall backward, and writhe in pain. Being the opportunist the shaman was, he repeated his previous attack, finishing off the curate. The man stopped writhing, and was bleeding from his mouth, dead.
Shadow looked behind him, at his two fellow magic users. He did not pay much attention to their expression. The shaman simply began to speak to them. "Sorry about taking the kill, but it had to end now." He then waited for any response from the two.

Aura stood up after a few moments, and then hobbled over to where the other three stood in a loose triangle. "Um, as much as I like to be standing here, waiting for the next jack-asses to show up, we might want to leave." At the questioning look from the monk and the new shaman, he explained.
"Think about it; they know we know about their plot. They want us silenced pretty badly, not to mention they'll stop at nothing to get Tionne here to be stopped from making it to Delfia, which is where they think he's still heading." Sitting down with a grimace, the acrobat continued. "We need to get into Lycian territory fast, or we'll end up dead; well, the chances are still good if we get into Lycia, but are marginally less so when we get there."

Akasha thought over Aura's words for a few moments before speaking. "He's right; we have very little choice in the matter. If we are to get Tionne safely to Lycia, then we need to leave as soon as possible, if not immediately." After seeing Aura wince and groan, Akasha walked over and kneeled before the myrmidon.
"May I examine your wounds? My mother taught me basic first aid, even if I am no curate or bishop." After getting no negative or positive response, Akasha proceeded, but wished he hadn't: Aura's wound was looking rather gruesome, and almost like it was going to be infected soon. Wiping the blood off, Akasha soon placed bits of vulnerary onto the wound and ripped a bit of cloth from the curate's robe to make a bandage to staunch the bleeding. "There; I'm no expert, so this will have to do until someone here learns how to use a staff, or until we find either a curate or a cleric."

Shadow remained silent as Akasha patched up the myrmidon. Aura seemed like a strong man, but not the invincible type. The dark mage was an excellent judge of character. Mostly this was due to his past experiences with people in general. Some experiences were pleasant, but majority of these were not.
The shaman looked up from his inspection of Aura's wounds. While things may have calmed down, it did not mean they were entirely over. Shadow took a step back, towards the monk. He was not going to let any enemy catch the group off guard. At least, not the entire group.
Looking back at Tionne, Shadow spoke in a calm voice under his hood. Through the darkness, the shaman observed the man of light. "Hmm... Do you believe it is over Tionne? This skirmish, I mean. While your lanterns may have illuminated most of the surroundings, there are all of these trees enemies can hide behind." The shaman's voice trailed off, waiting for a reply from Tionne.

Tionne thought for a few moments and said "We'll need to leave immediately; I don't want to have to push Aura harder than necessary, given his wound, but we have no choice. We need to leave now." Turning to where his lanterns were, he had an idea. "But that doesn't mean we're going to let the enemy know we're leaving." Extinquishing the lanterns, TIonne conjured a smaller pumpkin and threw it as hard as possible, letting the magic in the air carry it as much as possible.
"That lantern will only stay lit for a few minutes; we need to get moving now, or that distraction won't work." he said as quietly as possible, after hearing several crashes and seeing some actual lanterns being lit, watching them follow his Pumpkin Lantern.
