Appearance: Velnn is built of a sturdy stock, compact muscles giving him mass and strength without sacrificing too much agility. His demeanor and posture are one of a carefree individual, and betray him as someone who has trouble (and a strong dislike for) taking life seriously.
Clothes: The mercenary is protected primarily by a chestpiece of hardened leather, complimented by matching bracers and boots, as well as a small, round, metal shield, little more than a buckler, strapped to his left forearm. On his hip is a sword, thin and unsheathed, hanging where it is by its guard on his belt. One suspects it's only a matter of time before he cuts his own pants down trying to draw the blade. The rest of his attire is strictly functional: thick wool traveling clothes. Once the color of the endless plains, they have since faded to, strangely enough, an off-blue.
Birthplace: Sacae
Story: Velnn's childhood is boring, devoid of the tragedies and calamities, the slain parents and the mysterious elders and destiny written in the stars that seems to be the primary breeding stock of heroes. This is not to say the young man was without hardship, simply that it was of the more mundane variety. Shoes lost in rivers, separation from the tribe for days on end, an ironclad inability to ride a horse, Velnn's life had more misfortune than could easily be explained by clumsiness or the thickheaded ways of youth.
But despite the falls, and the broken bones, and the hooves to the chest, the Sacaen has always remained mostly intact, each major accident always followed by a period, if not good, then at least unobtrusive luck. It could be said that Velnn's luck is no better or worse than anyone else's, it simply has stronger fluctuations.
At the age of adulthood, the nomad was still hopeless in both his mother's archery and his father's horsemanship. So, with his parents' blessing, he took his sword, the one weapon he had been able to use properly and set out to travel the world and grow as a person, maybe pushing his luck a bit here and there.
