"Come back here!" shouted a business owner. Sven sprinted with food in his hands. He looks back and grins at him.
"You have to try harder than just having mouse traps on the windows! I'm Sven, the ace thief." He jumped a fence and walked into his home. His house was a small shack that he found in Caelin. After leaving his hometown, he made stops at every town. He walks over to one of the shelves. He picked a scroll. Sven unwrapped it and a map of Elibe.
"Let's see...if I go here I should be in Bern in a week." Sven rolled up the map and placed it back on the shelf.
"Hey! Come back here!" a voice shouted.
"No! I want this!" shouted another. Sven heard the commotion and walked outside. It was the same man that he robbed earlier and this time with a brigand. Quickly grabbed his Slim Sword and ran outside and stood there.
"Oh geez..." he said. Both of them noticed and the brigand was first to speak.
"Huh? Who are you?" the brigand said in a blunt way.
"I'm Sven, the ace theif!" he said with pride. The man wasn't amused.
"Look, theif. I just want my beloved Silver Axe, back." The man pointed to the brigand. He was holding two axes. Sven could identify the difference.
"Alright, tell you what old man. I'll get your Silver Axe back, but in return I can get food supplies from your shop for my departure. Fair enough?" Sven said. He really needed to get to Bern. There was a feeling that he was required there. The man was hesitant about agreeing, but nonetheless he accepted.
"Oh, alright. Just get my Silver Axe back." The brigand looked at them and laughed.
"Hahaha! You a measly thief can take on a brute brigand? That's hysterical! I accept that offer, if you manage to defeat me in battle, the Axe is yours. I'll show you what a Steel Axe can do. Prepare to die!" He dropped the Silver Axe and pulled out his Steel Axe. Sven smirking slid his Slim Sword out. The brigand once again laughed. "You really think a Slim Sword can defeat me? You are walking to your own doom!"
“Heh, that’s what you think. I may not have power, but I have the speed.” Sven charged forward cutting the brigand on the arm. The brigand snarled.
“I’ll get you for that!” He swung his axe in a horizontal motion. Sven quickly jumped back. The man, quickly afraid that he would get killed made many steps back. The brigand furious of his miss, attack again, but Sven quickly countered and sliced him on the leg.
“I told you before. I may not have the power, but I have the speed.” He took a step back and sliced through the brigand on the other arm.
“Gahh!!” The brigand howled with pain. His upset made him get desperate. He dropped his Steel Axe, and picked up the Silver Axe. The man looked in horror. Sven just laughed, he started to act careless.
“You are not worth the fighting. Go on and surrender.” This made the brigand blinded with rage. He swung the Silver Axe and it caught Sven off guard. “Ack! Whew, that nearly got me…”
“I’ll get you!” The brigand was exhausted; he was dragging the Silver Axe across the ground. Sven knew he had to end this as quickly as possible. Sven swung his body back and forth to gain momentum and lurched forward spinning many times around cutting the brigand’s body.
The brigand stumbled forward and fell on the ground. Sven walked over and impaled his Slim Sword onto the brigands head. The old man stood in fear. “He was dead already…” Sven ignored him and lifted his sword, picked up the Silver Axe, and walked over to the man and gave him the Silver Axe.
Sven, finally spoke, “The Silver Axe is recovered. I suggest you keep it under your table. That is where no thieves ever look. Now, shall I assist you home?”
The old man nodded, still in fear, “Y-y-yes…please…” Sven looked out to the meadows; he knew that there were more brigands if one appears. “Old man, I might have to stay here for a while, more brigands are going to be here.”
