OOC: Takes place during "Loose Ends"
Val held his blade up to the sun, the light gleaming off the blade. Chelsea was off at the moment, and Ilyadia was doing his own thing. He didn't know what Selibas was up to, but it didn't really matter. He felt lonely, but it was no worse then what he was used to.
The blackened blade looked like it belonged in the hand of some nobleman, looking to defend his honor. The thin blade, the designs, the ease of use. It was a beginner's blade, though it may not appear as such. As he trained, his mind grew even more critical of the imperfections in the blade. He wanted nothing more then to reforge it right about now. But that cost money, lots of money and time. He wasn't at home where the commissioners pay for the materials, where there was more then enough iron and steel to make spare weapons. No, this was all on him now.
"Eh, oh well." He muttered, putting the sword away. He wondered if anyone was coming back soon for a moment, but decided to not fret. If they were going to leave him, they'd at least have the decency to tell him.

Selibas had nothing to do. There wasn't a tree to sleep on or someone to yell at him. He was essentially just pacing. Pacing, pacing, pacing until the grass under him was completely trampled.
He lost his train of thought and walked in a straight line trying to think of the fotting and sword swipes. He started slashing at the taller blades of grass. HIs thoughts were very similar to this, "Why was it blades of grass? Why not stalks of grass. Wait what happened to the techniques again? Dam t." Luckily he wasn't slashing at the moment he bumped into Valcrist.
He dropped his sword, and as he picked it up he said, "Oh... hello."

He looked at the green hair boy, a slight smirk on his face from where Val tried to hide a goofy grin. He saw the young man slashing at the tall grass, but it was in such a way that almost made Valcrist laugh. It reminded him of how bewildered he was when he saw grass for the first time. Well, tall green grass, not the short dried yellow stuff that he saw back home. "Hey, Selibas, right?" He pointed with his finger as he asked.
"Sorry if I messed up, I'm not the best with names. Faces I remember forever, names sometimes get lost on me." He quickly added with a nervous laugh before he even allowed time for answer.

Selibas nodded. He said to the other swordsman, "And you're Val right?" He didn't remember his full name so his nickname would suffice. He resheathed his sword. He looked at the taller boy and realized how short he was. He had alwaysknown he was small but seeing this many tall people depressed him.
Selibas realized he should probably say something to talk about. "So... uh swords huh?"
Ooc: Great akwardness.

"Yeah... um... swords. They're... Cool." He fidgeted slightly at the spot. He didn't really know what to say. He didn't know the person at all, aside from the name thing. There was something about waiting for his teacher he remembered back when they talked before, but he didn't really feel like bringing it up. So instead Val just kinda stood there, looking at the kid. Not much to say. "So... er..." He began to say something, but nothing came out.
"I made my sword." He said, though not sure of what really provoked it. "You're a Sacaen Myrmidon, erm... right? My former teacher was one too..."

"Well Sacaen but not a Myrmidon. As you can see I'm not that big and don't have as much reach as you all do. Plus my teacher used to be a Mercenary in Illia so I'm learning more of that style. I rely more on strength and being agile more than speed or landing many small hits." It seemed when Selibas had something to talk about he could.
Selibas asked, "So your teacherwas Sacaen? How'd you meet him if your from Nabata?"

"Oh... I see. I'm sorry, I didn't mean to assume. It's just... Nevermind." He felt foolish now, but he didn't want make it obvious. It made a bit more sense now, the man didn't hold the sword quite like he did. Like Yaen either, but a more broad style. It suggested a more strength oriented style then what Val was used to, but...
"Erm. Sorry." He repeated. "I ignored your question. You see, I was trained by a Sacaen named Yaen..." He began to talk again, an awkward if not somewhat forced smile on his face. "I met him on my travels, it's also where I met Chelsea. He... He said I was really bad." Val smiled despite the words he just said. "But he trained me anyways. Then I ran away. Some student I am..."

"Oh sorry to... sorry to bring that up." He said grabbing the hilt of his blade. He let go as he realized that wasn't how he took it out anymore. So he kicked his sword in his hilt having it slide up. He missed it a few times. But then after a few kicks he caughtit.
Selibas was excited and he pulled out his full blade. To the larger boy the blade probably looked like a big dagger. But he felt he was good enough to use it. He looked at Val smiling, "Sorry I didn't expect that to work." He resheathed his big ol' dagger and rebegun his akwardness. He said, looking at the other guys weird sword, "So if you're just gonna wonder after we leave Chelsea, how about stopping by my tribe with me on the way?"

Val sighed. "It's alright." He slumped his shoulders to the ground but picked up his head with an exasperated smile. "It's my fault. Really, don't worry." His voice was small, tired, and more then a bit depressed.
He kept his head up as he observed the boy fiddling with his sword, doing that unsheathing thing that Val had noticed earlier. He finally succeeded it seemed, and he beamed at Val. Followed by a hasty apology, putting his weapon away. "Don't need to be sorry." Val simply reassured him.
"Hrm..." he broke his depressed slouch to take one of a thinker. "I don't know. I don't know what I want to do at all. Illyadia said he wanted to accompany me too... But I don't really have a direction. I suppose it couldn't hurt..."

Selibas nodded and looked at the guys sword again. He liked the way the thing looked. Wasn't sure if how it looked effected the use but why not let it look elaborate. Selibas looked at his own sword and realized it was very plain. But he could use it so why not do so now?
He did his special unsheath only taking one miss. As he took his sword out he said, "As long as were here, we might as well see which of us learned better."

"L-learned better?" Val stumbled over his words before catching his self. "What do you mean? I don't think it works quite like that..." He smiled awkwardly. But, still he drew his blade all the same. "If, however, you're asking to spar. I suppose I could." The blackened blade reflected the sunlight, a slight glare off the polished blade as he drew it from his sheath. He did it quickly and in one fluid motion, he could of probably stricken straight from the draw if he had wanted to, just like Yaen taught him.
He held the blade out, the fancy weapon looking quite odd in the hands of Valcrist. "However, let me warn you." He laughed, but his confidence was nowhere to be found. It sounded a bit weak, and even pitiable. "I'm quite bad."

"Can't be any worse than me." Selibas took his stance, left leg in front with his weight on it. Selibas waited a few seconds. And then he realized, that he had challenged the fight so he had to be the one who started it. He raised his blade and said, " Sorry but I have to do this, I am Selibas Pettitloupe Barroblade. You killed my mentor prepare to die." And he swung with the flat of his blade at Val's legs.

"Oh I wouldn't be so sure."Val chuckled, holding his blade out and standing there silently. He watched his opponent, holding his blade out and at ready. He didn't really want to start the fight, he wasn't sure HOW to start. Instead he just silently waited unt- Wait what?
He smoothly slipped back and out the range of the strike, but was taken aback for a moment. "Erm... what? I... I didn't kill anyone." Val looked at the young man sparring with him. Normally this would of tripped him up, but he remembered all of the training he's had with Yaen. Remembering to dodge first, think later. The bruises on his body were a... painful reminder of that. Still, it was now Val's turn. He reaffirmed his stance, tightening up the looseness caused by the random comment. It looked as if his body suddenly locked in place, but he was still as loose as ever.
He held his blade close to the ground, and as he dashed towards Selibas, he brought the flat end up in a strike.

Selibas had been ready to miss. He had even planned to block an attack. But he didn't expect Valcrist to get that far away, or strike back so quick. Selibas clumsily and slowly blocked it. The amount of force behind the blade made his own hit him in the ribs. Selibas backed up recovering. After a couple seconds he caught his breath and tried to get into close quarters. He raised his left fist to add the punch that was the only personal style he had. But the guy would probably dodge it plus Selibas didn't want to hurt Val. So he swung the flat of the Blade at Val's left leg then changed it's path at the last second aiming for the taller boys shoulder.

Val hadn't been expecting a sword blow, but a fist, as ridiculous as it seems. He saw that Selibas raised his fist, and instinctively he went to dodge, remembering when Yaen pulled sudden moves mid combat like this. Instead all he did was open his self up for an attack with the blunt blade. It whacked him good on the shoulder, and with a grunt, he stumbled back. "Ow..." Val moaned, but let go of his shoulder and looked Selibas back in the face. His arm red and stinging from where he had been struck. Good it wasn't his face, last thing he needed was a black eye.
"I... didn't expect that." Val smirked, but in a slight pathetic way. His brow fallen and knitting in pain. He shifted his body again, reassured his stance and came at the sword fighter again. He wasn't done quite yet, his blade moving swiftly as his body followed. Charging head on, he feinted to the left then dashed to the right and brought the dull end of his weapon down to attack at the man's legs.
