Ralph responded to Wyatt's call immediately, stabbing with his sword to the left. His blade struck true. Ralph jammed his other sword into whatever was there a little higher, and leveraged both swords outward.
Whatever it was let out a wretched screech and fell to the ground with a thump. Ralph was fairly certain that nothing could have survived that, although with the living dead around he didn't know exactly what kind of demonic power was at work here.
A foul smell permeated the air.

That axe struck and sunk into the man's flesh, but it wasn't a normal man. Decayed in flesh, looking no better then a month old unearthed corpse. Was this what the smith talked about before? Two appeared from the nearby bush, not far from him and the other spear using man. Just seeing them seemed to confirm what Elias though, these were shambling dead men, brought back to the living by some foul magic. He's heard of magic to revive the dead, it was used years ago by that one bandit guy who's name escapes him. Back when the old legendary heroes were running around again, but this didn't seem like that. These people, from the looks of it, weren't really living. It was like someone had shoved a hand into them and dictated their movements like a giant puppet. Their jerky movement, they weren't living, their corpses were simply just moving.
"Spear guy, stay close to me. I'll blast them from a distance and you can pick'em off once they get close." He spoke, loudly enough for the man to hear but not so loud as everyone in the world could find out where he was. He held the brilliantly red tome out in his hand, opening it wide and scanning the pages with his eyes. Keeping his ears open for an attack, but concentrating on his spell. Elfire, he's never used it in battle, he needed practice and he needed to focus much more then if he had just slung a fireball.
The words upon the page suddenly began to glow bright red as if on fire, and then just as quickly vanished, leaving a blank page behind and a violent sphere of flame hovering in the air above him. He thrust his arm, sending the sphere crashing into the earth in between the two... creatures, the powerful pillar of flame striking both, yet they still shambled closer. One was actually on fire, but it didn't seem to notice. Usually people on fire tend to run around screaming. This creature, he didn't even stop drop OR roll! Inhuman beasts.

Vadim blinked a few times at the result of the axe, not just dead, but deader! The lancer shivered, this was unnatural, this was not right! ”Oh, Gods…” Vadim breathed heavily, his lance nonetheless still held tight and ready until he heard the mage call to him. Vadim glanced back and nodded, sounded like a good idea to him.
The young lancer took a few steps back to stand close to Elias as the mage blasted off a powerful spell. Vadim watched as the walking dead continued to walk while on fire even, giving off an eerie flow and a horrible stench. The one fire covered corpses shambled close enough that Vadim stabbed out with his slim lance, for once in his luck being on his side and it found its mark without Vadim falling. Instead, the corpse groaned and fell over as Vadim pulled his lance free.
With renewed confidence he tried to stab the other corpse only to trip over something, stumble and ram his lance into the things leg. It made what could have been a cry of pain, or anger, but the wound didn’t slow it down much. Vadim blinked and barely managed to duck under the corpse’s flailed arms, pulling his lance along with him.
Vadim scrambled back to his feet again and gripped his lance, knuckles white as the wounded corpse continued to come closer, though, thankfully, much slower. Vadim took a breath and took a few steps forward before thrusting his lance out forward at the thing, he only managed to scrape its side. It twisted enough to nearly pull Vadim to the ground, instead the lancer released his weapon and backed off. ”Hey, I need that!” He said and glanced to Elias. ”If you could be so kind as to finish it, I could get my lance back.”

Wyatt looked about the forest, trying to see where the next attack would come from. He spied it behind Elias, as two more came from the destroyed woods. And then another from the side...and...something behind him! Wyatt turned around to face the one behind him, only to see it shamble off to the side, ignoring him. This one was also making a straight line for Elias. What on Elibe?
"Elias! They're after you! Watch out!" He called, running forward and chopping another of the creatures in half as it tried to reach the mage. It's severed body attempted to crawl toward him as Wyatt brought his axe down on it's head.
Were they called to the magic? No...those wolves didn't target Aaron any more then anyone else. So why did they all seem so focused on getting to Elias?

"Oh. Great." Of course they were drawn to Elias, it could never be simple could it? Thought it's a good thing he brought some people along, might of simply died otherwise. Now wasn't the time for fretting over such silly things as his mortality, now was the time to KILL THE DEAD (again). He quickly touched his fire tome, a spell that he had mastered years upon years ago that he can cast it in his sleep, which he had done before.
Two spheres of fire swirled up in the air and collided into one another, making it ever larger, and the mage brought the fireball down upon the injured zombie-ka-bob that was sporting Lance guy's titular lance as a piercing. The explosion riddled fiend falling with a sizable chunk of flesh missing from it's recorpse. "You can get your spear back." He smirked, looking around to see if there were anymore monsters about. If they were truly after him, atleast they new where they were going to-
The blade came crashing down and running through his flesh, slicing his robe, cloak, and back clean open. He stumbled over in pain, and from the sheer force of the blow. It was still alive. Or dead. Whichever, too much pain to be glib. Stumbling back to his feet, staining his new white cloak a deep crimson, he grunted through the pain and swung his arm and with it Elias sent another fireball to put it down indefinitely, or at least until it's revived again by an even FOULER magic.
"Alright then, duly noted that they seem to hunger for my supple mage flesh." He tried to grin foolishly like always, but could barely keep his self steady, falling to one knee. He looked down at the monster at the monster he thought was dead, his blurry vision making out the rough look of it's body. It was dead, for good, for now. It was far too close to him for anyone to have helped, he was just foolish for letting it happened. It just was that when he killed things, they usually stayed dead. His breathing was haggard, shallow, and the steady supply of blood leaving his body only made it harder and harder to stay awake.
Light headed, he spoke out a small cry for help. "Can... someone get the vulnerary... from my pack?"

"Damn it!" Wyatt called, seeing Elias drop. Even now the zombies closed in on him, going for the kill. The axe would never cut through them all, he needed a quicker way to buy some time. Dropping the axe from his grasp, Wyatt grabber his maul and swung it horizontally with all his might. With a great crash, in knocked a line of them over, just like bottles on a bar. They flailed and crashed to the ground, but the damage wasn't enough to keep them all down, just delay them.
He ran over to Elias and thrust a hand into the mages pouch. He felt the medicine and pulled it out, but he'd grabbed something else. A patch of rather foul smelling fur...wait a minute...! This was Doom Wolf hide, was this what was calling them? Wyatt tossed the Vulnery to Elias before grabbing the fur and tossing it far away from them, landing among the ruined forest. The creatures seemed to stop for a moment, as if thinking. Then they began to split up, one of them going for Ralph and one for Vadim. A third came up towards Wyatt from behind, and sank it's teeth into his shoulder.
"Argh!" he shouted out, dropping the maul and punching the creature in the skull. He'd gained a lot of muscles in his travels, as the body flew back and crashed against the ground, twitching.
"Damn it to the pits of Hell!" He growled, reaching down for his Axe again, leaving the war maul on the forest floor for the time being.

When the thing was dead Vadim went and retrieved his lance, in time to hear Elias go down behind him. Vadim whipped around as the mage put his attacker down with another fireball, and Elias called for help. Vadim started to move to help but Wyatt was there faster and the lancer soon found himself with his own problem.
One of the creatures started to come towards him and him alone, the others going for his allies. When Wyatt now cried in pain Vadim gulped, how the hell was he supposed to kill this on his own?!
It moaned and shambled closer, at least it was slow, and Vadim was fast, well, faster then it anyway. Vadim started to move its side and jabbed at it with his lance, making it howl in pain and turn to face him, his weapon’s length keeping him out of reach of its flailing. Vadim took a deep breath and half charged it, using his weapon’s length to his full advantage and he caught a break when the tip of the lance found its way into the creature’s side.
It howled in pain, if it could feel pain, it could have been anger or annoyance, and actually grabbed the lance. ”Shi…” Vadim started to say as he was pulled back and forth, unwilling to let go of his weapon as the thing easily swung it back and forth with the human youth on the end. ”Ahhahahha!” Vadim yelped as he was swung back and forth, trying to find a way to plant his feet and get the leverage he needed to finish the thing off.
It must have looked comical, in some odd way, to someone.
Without warning in stopped and brought Vadim crashing down against the forest floor. Of course the only rock near by would be under him, and his left shoulder slammed into it. Vadim now howled in pain as his already bad shoulder was jarred against the stone, pain tore up and down his arm.
He released his weapon and forced himself to his feet, face flushed white, his breathing picking up as the pain throbbed. The zombie started to lumber forward again, ignoring the lance that was still protruding from its side, Vadim heaved in for breath, and now he was in pain and angry.

So Wyatt came and threw his wolf hides away, that happened. He might of been confused if it wasn't for the immense pain he was in. The almost empty bottle of salve was in hand, hopefully it would help. Barely able to think, barely able to see, and barely able to lift the flask. He unstopped the top and, without the time or the coordination to do it any better, he simply dumped the contents out upon the gash on his back. Crying out in pain while the tonic stung his flesh, but stopped the bleeding and began to help knead the wound.
He could think now, but he was still violently damaged. His eyes slowly focused, the blurry world around him fading away as he fell back into reality. He saw the lance man, he was in trouble. No no, this wouldn't do. Not at all. He was still kneeling upon the ground, one knee and one hand to the earth. Reaching inwards, Elias grabbed upon the tome in his cloak. A flame began to extend from the hand upon the earth, creating a snake like wire of flame, burning the earth as it snuck up around the creature's legs and began to wrap itself around the monster like a rope. It almost seemed to ignore it while the flames burned it's flesh and he continued to move undeterred. Of course the rope wasn't for binding it, no, it had another purpose.
"This is for ruining my new cloak..." He sputtered, his hand groping a new book. A large sphere of fire erupted from his hand an followed the flaming rope around and to the enemy, swirling around the creatures body until it reached the end, the monster's head. The eruption tore the weakened flesh apart, and the beast's head clean off. The now headless corpse falling to ground and ceasing movement.

Ralph listened around him, trying to find some semblance of what he knew from recent combat. His allies talking over the sounds of fighting didn't help Ralph establish where any new enemies were. He did however, feel the large gash in his back.
"Grrk..." was his response to that. Not as intelligible as the others getting injured, but it worked. Ralph held his sword out, close to his body, and spun in the direction of his attacker. Another hit. Ralph kicked the enemy in the chest, knocking it to the ground. These enemies didn't seem to be dodging much, almost as if they were too intent on attacking to dodge.

Wyatt found his left arm pretty weak from the bite, it wasn't going to do him any good like that. And so, he took his axe up into his right hand, swinging it one handed. Oddly, he found that while he lost power, it was still more then enough to cut through the rotted flesh and brittle bones.
"Die you piece of trash!" He shouted, finishing off Ralph's opponent. He turned and saw the last one, advancing on a wounded Vadim. Without pausing to think, he threw his axe. It wasn't designed to be thrown, but it flew through the air and sliced cleanly into the zombie, dropping it to the floor with a resounding thud. Wyatt looked around the now quiet clearing.
"Elias..."He muttered out, applying Vulnerary to his own wound, and checking on the others. "Now might be a good time to make a bee line to that house you mentioned."

"Y-yeah." Elias grunted, putting a hand upon his knee. He pushed hard as he tried to pick his body back up from the ground. After a strain of effort, complete with a groan and back-breaking paint, he managed to get to his feet. However, after a few steps, he found his self falling to his knee once more. Stopping his self before hitting the earth with the palms of his hands, driving small stones and ash into them. he knew this wasn't going to work, he'd have to stumble there.
He tried again, pushing his self back to his feet, trying to gain his balance. He stumbled a few steps forward before a creature stood in his way. Now wasn't... he wasn't able to fight about it. No screaming, no random outbursts. "Alright... Thank you." He spoke lightly, a fragile smile on his face as he leaned against the grey steed for support. "Come on... It's this way."

Vadim watched as the fire wrapped around the zombie’s neck before Elias finished it by popping its head off in a rather fun way. The lancer breathed a heavy sigh of relief when the thing dropped dead, again, finally. Maybe he’d been too hard on the mage before? After all, Elias had now saved his life twice, Vadim made a mental note to be nicer to him.
Vadim pulled himself together long enough to get his lance back only to turn around and see the last one shambling towards him. One armed he got his lance ready, holding his shoulder close to him, but the axe came from Wyatt and brought down the beasty before it could any harm.
He looked around to see Ralph also wounded as Elias said to follow. Vadim went to Ralph, reaching out to him while speaking(so Ralph would turn on him). ”Ralph, lean on me if you need to, we have a chance to get out of here.” Vadim said, and would allow the blind rouge to lean on his right side if needed for support, until they could somewhere safe to apply some healing to themselves. Vadim had is own vulneraries in his pockets, he’d need to rub on his shoulder to ease the pain, beyond that though there was little that could be done.
With or without Ralph, he hurried to follow the mage and fighter towards this house Elias spoke of.

"Thanks, I'll be fine." Ralph said, healing his injuries with his last Vulnerary. "What I wouldn't give to have a healer with us right about now..." he muttered.
Just what kind of man lived in these foul woods anyways? Ralph started to doubt that he was still here, based on the aggressiveness of the enemies. He still followed the group anyways. Based on the most recent fight, there was no turning back for fear of fighting more.
"Elias, are you SURE that this man is still out here? I would like to avoid fighting more of those... things."

"Don't... D-don't worry. My mother... My mother's a healer. She'll help, I-I'm sure." His voice was weak, but he managed to pull through. That vulnerary, it saved his life from ending right there, it stopped the bleeding and mended to worst of his wound. However, it was far from the help he needed, and he was still in danger of shuffling off this mortal coil. If anything else attacked... well he'd do all he could to blow them back to the void. If he was caught though, it would probably be all over.
"I know they're here... I met someone. Someone who had... seen them a few weeks ago." Razzle, Elias wondered if she was ok. He had lost track of her after those ruins...
Before he could contemplate his failures further, everything began to shift and change. It felt as though his entire being was being pulled from the place he once was, and along with him came the steed. By the time he could make out where he had been taken, he noticed an older woman holding an elaborate staff in the air. Her light brown hair tied back into a bun and covered in a dark purple cloak, it was a woman Elias knew anywhere.
The end of the staff flashed, and he recognized what it was, a staff of rescue. It explained just how he teleported across the forest, he used to be caught by that staff any time he snuck out of his duties. It was full of both bad, good, and annoying memories. She was most likely using it to summon the others to her as well.

Wyatt had moved to grab his axe and his hammer from the ground, but when he turned around he noticed something odd. Elias was gone. There was no way he ran with the injury he had, it just wasn't possible. But no sign of him or his horse.
"What the...? Where did Elias go?" He asked, looking around. As he did, he felt an odd sensation...as if he was being pulled by someone. He kept his eyes open, and saw an odd gathering of light around him.
"W-what is..." He got out, before the light swallowed him whole, with him reappearing in a foreign place. Instantly, Wyatt felt dizzy and slumped to a knee, but his hand still held the axe in it tightly. He glanced around the room, still a bit dazed. So who was responsible for this?
