((OoC: See my opening statement in Let's Talk.... If you don't want to... This is after PaF, I don't have access to my crystal ball, inconsistencies, yadda yadda yadda.))
As the sun set on the world, and the sky gradually darkened, Isabel found herself sitting once more on the outskirts of their camp, this time watching the clouds being recolored by the setting sun. The clouds reminded her of the little pieces of candy her older brother would sometimes get, which she often pilfered while he was off doing his mage stuff. It was pretty awesome stuff... Better than that dried apple she had been chewing on earlier. The pupil rapped her fingers upon the relatively flat stone she was sitting on, and then rubbed the cold, rough surface of the rock. After encountering so much death... It felt good to be alive. Isabel found herself silently wishing her travelling companion was here to enjoy the moment with her. He would definitely like this, with his child-like wonder...

The sun released a beautiful afternoon glow, painting an array of gorgeous colors across the easel that was the sky. Calvin stepped forward, his food resting gently on the old hardened soil and dirt, the remaining vegetation overlapping his sandal and took a long exaggerated stare back at the old fortress. Oddly enough, the ruined stonework of the fortress brought an innocent smile to the youth’s face. It was an intense, amazing experience, Calvin’s first adventure was surely one that could be described as “action packed”. There was the clashing of blades, the dazzling flashes and explosion of powerful magic, blowing the rotting door straight from its hinges. Valorian also had a painful experience which Calvin unfortunately caught sight of. Despite all this, Calvin couldn’t think of words to describe the experience. He had never felt so exhilarated in his life. His head slowly turned, returning his attention to the setting sun, everything seemed so… enjoyable. Calvin was just generally in a good mood.
At a time like this, Calvin would usually take some time for himself, which meant playing his flute. However which so many things happening, Calvin scarcely had time for such things. It was time for him to seize the moment. He took a seat by a nearby tree, before opening the flap of his excessively large carrier bag. His hands rummaged through his belongings, pushing out of the way food, his sketch pad, pens, and even his lute. Eventually a long stream of light shimmered across his silver flute, and a smile perked onto Calvin’s face as he pulled out the instrument. He whispered quietly to the flute.
“Hello old friend!”
He perked his lips and placed the flute up against his mouth before blowing gently. A smooth, high sound echoed from the silver flute. His fingers smoothly popped from button to button, as he played a gentle relaxed melody. He was in a considerably good mood, but felt that a relaxed tune would help bring a better end to his first adventure. It was a song his father had taught him to play before he left. As the harmonious tune filled the air, so did a calmed atmosphere, Calvin felt light his shoulders rising like something heavy had just been removed. Memories filled his head as he thought about home while playing.

Isabel closed her eyes as she heard the calming sound of Calvin's flute from a little ways away. Much like the bard, the pupil's thoughts turned back to her home, and to her mentor... She thought back to the time she burned herself while trying to cook a meal and her sister using her healing stave to fix the burn... To the times she had spent wiith her brother, running around their parents' home, causing chaos while their sister attempted to stop them... To that fateful day when she had left home. She had convinced herself that she was off to bigger and better things, true. But still, the looks on her father's and mother's faces... Their disappointment that she wasn't what they wanted. But if she hadn't been adept at Elder Magic, she never would have left and met Master Daryl, and, by extension, went on this big adventure. And for that... She was grateful.
Isabel sighed, and got up. Time to talk to Calvin; she had promised to explain some things to the clueless boy. Within thirty seconds, she located him. "Hey."

Calvin’s song came to a slow relaxed end the last note fluttering before fading away. Calvin’s head turned up to find a familiar face, Isabel! Calvin seemed more calm than usual, a rare occurrence. His face lacked the usual childish grin of excitement, in its place sat a relaxed expression. He was glad to see Isabel, a lot needed explaining, and Calvin had even more questions to be asked.
“Isabel!”

Isabel gestured behind her. "There's a nice flat rock back there with a view of the sunset. We can talk there." she said softly, and then drifted back to where she had been sitting previously. As she walked, she took her Flux tome out, and rubbed the well-worn cover. And then the girl sat off to the right side of the rock, leaving room for Calvin, and sated down at the cover of the book resting on her lap. She was attempting to figure out just where Calvin might start, how she would answer...

Calvin nodded and sat up from under the tree. He gently slid his flute in under his bag under the flap and tossed his bag over his shoulder. Together they made their way to where Isabel was originally sitting. Taking of his bag and resting it on the floor Calvin sat down beside Isabel. The pair sat quietly beside one another. Calvin stared out to the distance, his mind creating numerous questions, questions he wanted answers to, things he didn’t understand. He turned his head to Isabel.
“What do you think?”

"That depends. What do I think about this sunset? It's beautiful. What do I think of all this death? It may be necessary, but I still don't like it. What do I think about our little adventure? I think it's coming along nicely." Isabel responded, not really looking at Calvin as she answered. "Did that answer your question?" She glanced at the bard, and could tell he was even then creating questions.
"Clearly not. All right," she sighed. "Go on. Ask whatever you like. I'll answer to the best of my ability."

Calvin smiled sheepishly, anticipation building up inside him. He could really ask anything, anything he wanted?
“I can ask anything? Anything at all?! In that case, all of your answers are wrong!”
He thought to himself for a moment before pulling the flute out from his bag and showing it to Isabel.
“The song, the song! Today was the first time you heard me play! We were at the fortress and Valorian was sick, so I played! What did you think! Did you like it? It’s a song I wrote myself!”

Isabe raised an eyebrow at his declaration that all he answers were wrong, but didn't say anything. And then he pulled out his flute and explained about the music he had played earlier, asking if she had liked it.
"Oh, really? You can ask any question, and...? The answer, Calvin, is obviously yes! I am Isabel LeFury, and I wouldn't travel with subpar bards." she said with a smile. "It was a very nice song. Now, anything else you want to ask...?"

Calvin chuckled and clapped! Hurray, praise from Isabel he was delighted to be travelling with not just a friend, but a prodigy. Calvin packed his flute away and thought to himself. Now that he actually had a serious think about it, all the questions from earlier came flooding back into his head.
“Ok! I want to talk about everything! Everything everything! Everything since we left Tirion and headed to Bern! After that I have more questions!”
Calvin was oblivious to about everything. However his questions did not entail solely what he had experienced. As he discovered when talking with Tara before leaving, he wanted to know everything about his friends. Only then can they really be friends!
“What happened in the fort? Jya was on top of Valorian, it was really silly! Everyone laughed, and so did I. It looked silly but I couldn’t understand why. Oh! Does that mean if I lie down and you sit on me, that would be funny?”

"I'll try to answer the one that's an actual question first." Isabel said. "First off. No, I highly doubt that would be humorous. And... Well... The reason we found it 'funny' was because, well, you see..." Oh god how would she explain this. How. "Well. Guys and girls are a little bit different on the outside. And inside. And. Well. Let's just say these differences can cause situations that may be awkward for all involved and nearby."
That was painful.
"Now... What do you want to talk about? Tirion... I do wish we could have stayed with him. I'm sure he's run off and done some awesome stuff by now. He seemed like a guy who made things happen... Let's see... There was our travelling to Amarillo, meeting Jya..." Isabel was counting the events off on he fingers. "Meeting Tara, then the whole church thing, meeting Rayl and Valorian..."

Calvin still didn’t understand. They were different on the outside and the inside? That was all? That didn’t seem that funny, oh well Jya sitting on Val, that sure was silly! Calvin chuckled at the thought of it once again. Maybe sometime he’d try sitting on Jya or Val… Anyway so that was one situation that was answered. Calvin ticked off the imaginary checklist in his mind. He still wanted to ask Isabel about the fighting.
“Everyone was so strong and fought really well! I loved how you used your super strong magic to beat that guy! Your magic is really cool, can I see some more?!”

Isabel bristled at the last question. "Calvin! I am no conjurer of cheap tricks! I am a magician of battle; an arcane force that can destroy entire armies!" And then she stopped. "Also, each time I use my magic, the tome becomes weaker. I am dependent upon my tome," she rapped the cover of her book. "Some of the magic leaks out."

Calvin was surprised at Isabel’s comment, but it did make sense. He felt so stupid for a second, of course a prodigy like Isabel would not spend her time with tricks, her magic was for fighting! Calvin nodded his head as she spoke to show that he understood.
“It’s great that My best friend is such a prodigy! What about me, how did I do, did I help everyone?”

Isabel bit her bottom lip for a moment, thinking. Calvin wasn't exactly the greatest fighter... But he had helped, right? Of course he had. In those small, bardish ways most people would overlook. But not her, of course. No, she had noticed... That she needed quick thinking.
"Well. Of course you did Calvin. You did some great stuff back there! Like... You probably helped Val feel better. And then there was that part where I was all tired and you helped me stay on my feet! That was all very helpful."
