(ooc: this takes place shortly after the battle of page 3 in Bandits Did It)
As everyone headed out of the castle Hoff snuck a little ways from the group and quickly made his way back inside. It was pretty late now, definitely past midnight, and the old fort was pitch black. It took him a few moments to get used to the darkness again as he moved further inside, past the numerous dead and charred bodies that littered the floor.
Reaching the central room he moved around the large throne in the middle and found the armory door. Something odd had caught his eye - the castle was all but destroyed, but this door looked quite new, as if it had been repaired or even replaced recently. These thugs didn't look nearly sophisticated enough to actually have manged to acquire anything of real value, but still the thief's interest on what could be behind it was enough to drive him to go back. Never hurts to check he muttered to himself as he fingered the lockpicks in his pocket and slowly walked towards the door.

Erio turned looking for the rouge from before thinking of taking back the cloak, it was getting rather chilly out. She sighed glancing around, he had disappeared, might as well go look around for anything that she would like to pick up. She highly doubted she would find a thing but...it wasted time that would be wasted elsewhere. At least this way it would be remotely productive in some sense.
She continued on into the castle glancing around curiously poking at a body with the pointy end of her sharpened twig. It was dead but...the lass reached down pulling an apple out of his pocket and taking a bite. Apples were apples and no need to be wasted. She walked lazily through the halls biting into the fruit

Hoff knelt by the armory door eying the lock with a cocked eyebrow. He couldnt really see inside it, and was pretty sure it wouldn't tell him a lot about the nature of the contraption anyway. With a shrug he jabbed the lickpicks in and tried to feel around for the tumbler.
"Damnit" he muttered under his breath as poking around into the lock didn't seem to have any effect "Im supposed to be good at this"
Finally, after some more jabbing and a lot of force he heard the lock click. Pulling his now completely bent lockpicks out he pushed the door open and walked a few steps into the pick black interior. It was even darker in there. With a grimace he turned around walking back outside and began searching for a light source while he muttered to himself about not bringing a torch or something.

Erio's ears perked up at the nearby creak of hinges pausing her poking of the body and straightening up moving off to see what it was. Amber eyes slid around the halls until she spotted, her cloak! Ignoring any need for silence she walked forward and reached out to grab the cloak a soft smirk on her lips "What are you doing here?" she asked tossing her hair back haughtily.

Hoff turned around when he heard footsteps behind him, just in time to to pull away from something grabbing his cloak.
"Oh" he said surprised "You." why was she here "Im not doing anything, just wanted to see if there was anything worth taking from this place" He pointed at the open door. Really not wanting to talk about the fight earlier where he ditched them, Hoff turned around and walked to the doorway straining to see inside
"You dont happen to have a light... do you?" His eyes were getting more adapted now and he could make out the outline of the dark room with what looked like bags piled on the floor.

"Of course it is my, who else would want your cloak" she answered with s sigh reaching into her pack and pulling out a string to tie her hair back off of her shoulders and from her face starting to walk with him. "There really is not very much of worth around here...I do wonder what they have been doing with their loot, its awfully suspicious.."
She walked forward and peered into the dark room and sighed again walking over to a torch laying in a bracket on the wall and strained up to pull it down. "Just use this for now" the woman said quickly moving to the room and walking inside with the light

Hoff smirked "Yeah? And a good job you did taking care of it" he looked over the torn fabric and dried blood. Its too bad he liked it too much to actually throw it away now.
He eyed her as she turned around and got the torch from the wall - squinting his eyes to the light he muttered trying to look around the room. The bags on the floor looked like just piles of rags and there were empty weapon stands hanging on the wall. Across from the door was an old, worn out cabinet. He walked to it pulling the drawers open one by one peering inside. One of them contained some paperwork - pulling some out he looked it over. They looked like accounting information, and some of them were labled for various cities, a lot of them in Lycia, Sacae and even Euritria.
"Hey.. these look like inventory paperwork" He handed a few to Erio while skimming the others. "There is all kinds of stuff, weapons, medical supplies.. whats this doing here?"

"I can fix it you know" she replied with a grin, one could only wonder what she could be planning that would make her grin so broadly.
She hummed to herself and reached out to search through what was on the floor her fingers lightly sifting through the thick layer of dust. "It doesn't seem like they used this room much, they must have moved the goods elsewhere, though it certainly was used at some time."
Carefully she stood wiping her dusty hands off on Hoff's cloak and walking over to pull the documents out of his hands and flip through them. After a moment her brow furrowed mouthing words as she read through them. "These are shipments..." she mumbled "the bandits were shipping goods to Etruria. So..." she glanced around and then back to the papers "they were receiving information of shipments between countries and stealing then rerouting to Etruria. Well...with the current state of affairs it is rather profitable to do so."

Hoff eyed Erio suspiciously "Why would I want you to fix it. Ill bring it into town and have a proper seamstress take care of it. Anyway, it mostly just needs a good wash" The rest of his clothing wasnt exactly in the best of condition either.
"That's a bit of a long-shot, don't you think?" He walked back out of the room and glanced around at the bodies on the floor "These don't look like the brightest bunch, to come up with a scheme like that. For whoever is pulling the strings, I guess you are right, there is room for making some money." Rather disappointed that there wasn't expensive in the room he stepped back out kneeling next to one of the corpses searching the body's pockets.
Empty, of course, and muttering to himself about wasting his time he stood up waiting for her to get done in there.

"And pay for it? I underestimated you, I thought you were simply a stingy old man though you just seem to be cranky. Just give it a wash in the river and save a few coins" she took a seat on the floor reading through the papers "if you are going to go to town for that might as well stop by a bathhouse, this area has some rather nice ones."
"I doubt they thought of the scheme, its too elaborate and well planned, these papers look rather official." She pointed to a signature "I recognize this name, I think he is....well had to do with trading five or so years ago, he died recently though."
The lass stood folding the papers and placing them into her pack as she looked around at the floor kicking over some things here and there the outline of a trapdoor showing as she kicked some dust away and up into a cloud. "Hey, this may be what you are looking for" she called back to him trying to pry it up though the handle was missing "I cant get it up, you try"

Hoff walked back to the door. Cranky, stingy, old, SMELLY... this girl was really getting on his nerves. He was not patient. He had no reason to be, and made no effort to hide the annoyed look on his face as he stepped back looking at the trap-door.
Taking out his knife he slid it into the crack pushing hard on the handle - the door was stuck and it took a few good pushes to get it to open a little. Finally he had enough room to grab it and force it the rest of the way. He looked into dense compartment filled with various bags.
Wide eyed Hoff reached for one of them opening it to look inside. Neatly arranged one next to another were small blue elixir pouches. There were at least a few bags full in there. The thief smiling triumphantly stood up looking at the girl, the rage from earlier forgotten.
"Wow. I bet these will be worth something." he said with a smile, a joyful glint in his eye.

Erio sighed watching the elder man pout much like a child as he moved back to the trapdoor and pried it open with much effort. She had to hold back a giggle, it was rather pitiful liek watching a child strain to get an apple from a tree. Though with the loud screech of the hinges that startled her the door opened.
She crept closer leaning down to look at what was there as well as determining how long it had been there from the dist. "Elixirs..." she said softly her amber eyes widening in surprise "they have had to have been here for far more than a month, I would say...nearly a year..." The woman leaned on Hoff and reached down picking up one of the blue pouches and peeking inside "nice quality..." she mumbled straightening up.
"I wonder...I would say by the potency and it not being diluted...at least...well it depends where it would be sold and to whom." She gathered up some and placed it into her bag "we should take it all, no use letting it go to waste.
"We should hurry up, though its nice you aren't scowling anymore..." Erio sighed again running a hand back through her hair "I want some top grade booze, though not too much, no use in getting drunk for now."

Hoff nodded in approval. He spaced out for a second then realized that he would probably end up having to carry most of the elexirs and scowled again.
He reached inside the compartment lifting one of the bags out and throwing it over his shoulder. There was one more left. "That one is yours" His looked heavier anyway, he surely wasnt going to pick up both of them.
He turned around and headed towards the door - he didnt really know anybody he could pawn them off to nearby. Getting rid of such a heavy load was definately high on his priority list too.
"What did you say about the name on that paperwork?" He realized he hadnt kept any of it but luckily the girl had picked it up. How thoughtful he smirked to himself slightly sarcastically, but mostly in appretiation that someone would think of things like that.

"You carry the rest" she replied walking out of the room her bag already full to the maximum capacity. It was rather heavy but she did not voice any complaint, if she could not handle this much what a large problem it would be.
"The name on the paper work was Lord Dontwor Rilocks" she replied "he was the head of the border control and trading between counties up to his death last year. I do believe he was killed by one of his concubines...something about him having other women. Anyways the old pervert croaked but this stands until next year, its a border pass. A nice official one too" she sighed softly scratching her head as they walked outside.
"All in all its a free pass into Etruria" she finished off turning to look at him

"Free pass?" Hoff wasnt sure he wanted to go there - it was a long ways away and it didnt seem very practical. Still... the sacrifice may be worth it for some decent profit. Hoff liked the prospect of making more money off their discovery, and despite being lazy he did not like to let that get in the way of business.
"I guess we have to come back for it later, Im not a mule" He scoffed at her and kicked the trapdoor closed. He dropped the bag and kicked some of the leftovers in the room over it, finally pushing the cabinet down. It was well enough hidden with everyone in the stronghold being dead. Finally he picked the large bag up again and, now feeling like a proper Thief, he flashed a sideways grin at Erio and added "Yeah, a drink or a few sound good."
