Jya frowned as she watched the procession. She warned the girl but nooooo she didn't listen. Now they needed to find a better way to get out of this mess. She can't take on five men at once and that horse rider didn't make the matter easier. She was fast but stamina could only go so far.
While the men was minding their attention on Lyrt, Jya had begun to make her move. She slide through the tall blades of grass and positioned herself beside the horseman. The others were far too occupied trying to harass Lyrt. Once or if they got out of this, she will have to make sure this doesn't happen again.
What happened next surprised the bandits and it gave her a perfect moment to strike. The horseman lurched forward in pain and within that second, Jya drew her slim sword, slicing through his side and causing to keel over onto the ground. This surprised the horse with a start but she slammed herself against its side. It did its initial purpose enough that it reared back and charged towards the other man.
"Run!" Jya ordered before her steps soon passed the other man. The horseman was alive, barely and hopefully, it will buy them enough time.

Lrt stared down at the man she had shot and uttered a soft apology. A man...she had shot a man. It never had occured to her how much blood one's body could hold and the sight of it just made her stomach twist. A boar here or there she had watched being slaughtered yet this was...
The girl gulped nervously and raised her crimson eyes up to stare at the fallen horseman with Jya's cry ringing out. A sacean never ran from a battle of their pride, yet it seemed to be far more bruised in the midst then running away. She turned and ran after the other girl without a second thought. "I hope that he will be alright...." she mused dashing away with an apparent ease "he did seem to be injured...maybe if we help him he will have a change of heart?"

Jya was simply unsure of how to handle with this girl. This must be an awful shock to her compared to her life before she traveled. Perhaps Jya was being a little cynical on the matter but this was a good experience on how society outside a quiet community was. There were very few people willing to help strangers, hell she debated on rather if she should have gotten involved in the first place.
"No, if you have any problems about this, don't look back," she simply stated. Her voice was firm and commanding for once. If they went back, they would probably chop them into pieces.
"Look, if we go back and they try to chop us up, I might have to kill all of them," she threatened, hoping her logic would work with the girl. She was telling the truth here, she might not have been capable but she will try, that was for sure.

Lyrt nodded fighting the urge to turn back and see if the man she had injured was alright. The scene was scorched deeply into her mind, every movement, every lurch, the pained and horrified look in his eyes. A shudder ran down her back at the continued thought of it, she would have to try to shove it away and out either way. She knew that there would be times where there would be no other path but conflict. Yet when the time came and so soon as well it rattled her.
Pursing her lips she glanced up at the sky, it would have too look different everywhere wouldn't it? Such a large thing that expanded over the whole world could not be so uniform. She needed to accept it in her heart that new experiences would spring forth from nothing, both of the good and the bad. The easier it would be to retaliate with every sense of her being and morals was to accept it. No more hesitation if she was committed to find Emon.
As the sacaen ran she reached up to lightly finger the hilt of the intricate blade she had bundled and tied to her back like some of the woman did with their infants. It was priceless and he had been so proud of it when it was given to him, it was impossible for her mind to fathom why he had left it behind. Was he worried something would happen to it? Was where he was going one of great danger? Lyrt shook her head banishing the dark thoughts from her mind for the moment, whatever happened would happen.
"I...understand" she said after a moments hesitation to Jya her eyes that were unfocused during her inner turmoil now clear and committed "I apologize for the trouble I have caused you and blame nothing but myself and my inexperience. Where should we head as to get directions toward Lycia?" She smiled softly, not too friendly as to put the other at unease yet warm enough to show that he was alright.

Jya was glad the girl understood the necessity of being mistrustful to the world. She flinched as she thought about it herself. They would best to move along, quick and tidy. Things would become worse if they get caught up in a bigger mess.
"If you want to get to Lycia, it will take some time. I know the way but lets first figure out what to do for shelter today," she suggested. It would be great if they found a town. Guards often keep ruffians and bandits at bay.
"I think there might be a town close by but I can't be too sure," she thought to herself. She had an old worn map but it hardly told many towns or villages. She did manage to steal it off of some old man's baggage after all.

"We can just sleep out in the open, the plains make a fine place to rest" Lyrt replied bending down to pat at the earth "it should serve well for the night if the need arises." As long as they both took turns with the watch there was little to fear, though if they lit a fire it would keep anything of danger away. Another village on the other hand would be nice, it would be comforting to experience Sacaen hospitality once more before she left to Lycia.
"Nightfall is not for a few more hours judging by the sun, let us put some more distance behind us before we make that decision I think that would be best...right?" The girl glanced up obviously uncertain of what was to be done.

"Fair enough," Jya replied with a smile. As long as they kept moving she would be fine. Her body relaxed some more and she no longer felt the urge to jump out of her own skin. There was no sign for of the men or any pursuers. It was also not the time to be lulled to a false sense of security.
"So Lyrt, tell me about yourself," she inquired, honestly interested in the girl. It was obvious enough that she was from Sacae and searching for her brother. However this was all the information she had. It wasn't that she didn't trust her but rather it is always nice to know about new friends.

"I-..M-me?" she turned to glance at her, surely Jya had far more interesting tales to tell if she was so strong, and wise as well. Though it would be rude not to answer, she had nothing to hide from anyone and there was no reason to speak the untruth, no matter the situation.
"My father's name is Ilaijn the chieftain of the Kidai tribe, we are rather small compared to the to the neighboring tribes but we make up in our strength and spirit." She started to speak as they moved her voice light along with her feet making quick work of the land at a steady and swift pace. Speaking was not one of her strengths she had to admit yet storytelling was a different matter.
The girl spoke of her brother's disappearance last, making note of the strangeness surrounding it and with a soft and light chuckle she finished. It was not much of a story, but she hoped it answered any questions the other may have had, yet the sacaen purposely left out a few details. Her mother's heritage one of them, she was sacaen and knew little about Illia, there was no need. "Ah..and you?" he asked hesitantly afraid to pry.

Jya flinched as Lyrt sent her question right back at her. She liked Lyrt's story, it sounded like quite a pleasant life. She could feel herself organizing her history into something tangible and comprehensible. When was the last time she told anyone?
"For one I don't even remember where I was born, just somewhere in Etruria," she began, remarking about her childhood. She had always been stuck in the house, watching the healthy kids play. Then she went on about the man that changed her life and how he taught her how to use locks.
When she finished that part of the story she began to remark on her first adventures. She spoke highly about Alcibie, Rayl and this very frightening wyvern lord that threatened to kill her if she threw up on his wyvern. She was just about to talk about what happened in Bern before she caught herself. This was the first time she was ranting.
"Sorry my story is a bit lacking," she said, stopping her story there.

"You..." Lyrt paused trying to find the words to describe the feelings the other girl's story filled her with. Jya had gone to so many interesting places and met so man different people, it was exciting to hear of such things while her past was so ordinary and dull. Yet saying so was rather ignorant of her was it not? It was not always happy exciting times of course, there were sad times and frightening as well.
"It is very interesting" she replied after a few moments "you really are strong Jya" the girl stared up at her in a new light of respect. Out of the corner of her eye she watched the sun begin to set and stopped short "Its twilight" the girl announced "what do you think we should do?" she asked. "I...can hunt...if needed, I have some spices..."

"That sounds great, you'll probably have a easier time than I would," Jya replied to Lyrt. That would be true considering all the trouble of remaining silent and waiting for an animal to approach. An arrow is a quick and effective means in a hunt after all.
"It seems I'll be making even more stories, I really have been through a little bit," Jya smirked at her statement. It was more so for herself, she was feeling a bit contemplative and this seemed to be the results of it. With that she proceeded to build a small controlled fire for cooking and warmth. The Sacaen plains was a great place to hide out with her clothing but it was hardly diverse.

"If you can start a fire, I wont be very long...I hope" the girl did not sound very confident in her ablities yet they were sound and honed from a young age like most sacaens of her tribe. Placing her bag down near the other to guarantee that she would would return and not run off to leave the other alone.
She stalked off into the twilight bow drawn and an arrow nocked glancing about for any life her senses heightened for the hunt. A rabbit twitched and she shot the arrow missing its head where she was aiming and instead catching its leg leaving it incapable of running yet suffering. Quickly she lowered her bow and ran forward murmering a soft apology as she pulled it from its pain and quickly skinned it.
The creature was fat, making good eating for the two and she hurried back holding up the rabbit triumphanly with a soft smile

Jya focused on making the fire while waiting for Lyrt to return with the catch of the day. She gathered some dry foliage or rather dry grass and began to attempt making the fire. After a few sparks and making sure the fire doesn’t spread out, she was finally satisfied by her work. Of course she prepared a pile of dirt to quickly put out the fire if need be. It was always great to draw from years of experience but in their situation she planned to put the thing out once they finish cooking. Then again, it was at night and as long as the fire didn’t blaze too brightly they could keep the warmth.
“Welcome back!” she greeted Lyrt as she warmed her hands. It seems like they had quite the catch, the rabbit was nice and plump. It was sure to bring plenty of welcoming protein. She had subsisted on rations she bought, finding herself being lazy instead of hunting. Unlike Lyrt she had depended on stealth for hunting. If no animal passes by, she would have just wasted precious energy waiting.
“We should be getting to town soon enough and then we can prepare for our trip to Lycia,” she remarked looking towards the general location of their destination. She wasn’t rushed, there was no need to be.

Lyrt seemed to nearly glow with pride at what she had caught pleasing the other girl and immediately set about staring to prepare it for cooking. Quickly and with much skill she gut the plump ball of meat and sliced it up into long thick strips trying both to concentrate on the meat and what Jya was saying. "I can hunt rather well so that can take care of some of the rations right?" she asked kindly looking up as she started to fish through her bag.
She pulled out a few long metal sticks rather thin like twigs yet looking strong all the same and skewered the meat onto them carefully. After adding a few spices she stuck them into the ground tilted forward over the flames to cook giving them a few careful turns after a few minutes.
"Jya..." Lyrt started to ask hesitation obvious in her voice "what is Lycia like? I don't know very much about it..."

Jya had begun to ruffle through her pack and soon took out a piece of cloth. The thing has been used to wipe her weapons many times in hopes to prevent them from rusting too much. She felt best to keep busy while Lyrt was cooking the food. As far as she knew, she would probably have burnt the whole thing up and ate it like that. The cloth gently glided over her Slim Sword and seem to eat away the blotches and streaks of blood. It was funny how it was once a clean piece of white cloth. After so much rinsing and cleaning, she could never make it seem like new. Now it was a light maroon color, forever stained by the blood of those who chose to trifle with her. Her mind wasn't like that at all though, she was actually paying little mind as this was all routine.
"Lycia eh? Well besides Ostia being overrun by monsters, but than again I heard the whole place has been destroyed now, and the usual banditry, I don't think we have much to worry about," she remarked with a smile.
"We still need to get some emergency rations, better safe then sorry," she warned, knowing how much being prepared can give one the edge.
