The meat shone eerily in the light the fat dripping down into the flames which eagerly crackled and spat to meet it. A thick aroma of the rabbit and the spices filled the air making a warm and homey mood settle over their camp. Lyrt felt safe, almost as if she was watching her grandmother cook some odd foreign dish and in just mere moments Emon would burst in and taste it while she looked away only to be rapped harshly by a wooden spoon.
The girl was lost in thought for so long that the meat had almost burned even with her constant turning of the skewers. "Oh..oh my.." she mumbled surprised and embarrassed at her near blunder, what if the other saw her as incompetent in hunting and cooking? That would be a stain on her father's name if his daughter was unable to cook competently the catch from the hunt.
With one swift clean movement she pulled the skewers out of the ground and set them onto a wax cloth inspecting them for a moment. The meat was a little overcooked but nothing too horrible marred them and she let out a soft sigh of relief. "They are ready" she called over to the other girl waiting for her to take the first piece as was polite. "I can make some tea as well" she said after a moment of though "It can do wonders for the body especially if you are tired from traveling."
While mulling over the new information she had learned about Lycia the young sacaen reached up to unpin her hair letting her snowy cloud of hair float about her face. "Monsters?" she asked suddenly "what sort of monsters?"

Jya picked at her meat, it was really quite hot and didn't want to burn her tongue. She had laid her wide array of swords aside just to be careful. She didn't want her sword accidentally stabbing her side or the like. She had also been carrying them all day and night, it becomes quite tiring. Perhaps she was just lulled to a false sense of security but they were close enough to grab.
"Tea?" she asked more to herself. She had tried tea before but she considered it the same as medicine. She had a hard time differentiating the two but she had seen many healthy people drink it. She gave her approval, she was much tired by the lack of company. It might just rejuvenate her spirits is what she hoped.
"The rabbit it really good," she remarked, finally biting into the meat. It was a bit dry but that wasn't much to complain about considering all the dry jerky she had to consume at times. She continued to nibble on the meat as Lyrt asked about those monsters. This would be a difficult encounter to describe.
"For what I could tell, they were human shaped, actually I think they were once human," she answered, tearing off another part of the rabbit. At that time she was a prey to them but that hardly matter, those things attacked any real humans left.
"Also they were really hard to kill, stabbing them seemed to have little effect," she stated, looking over to her sword. Perhaps she will be more prepared next time.

Lyrt smiled and nodded watching the other pick at the meat, that meant that it was simply edible at the very least. "Tea will be right up" she said cheerfully glancing at the swords, Jya seemed unable to relax, she hoped this would help soon enough with a nice cup of tea. Quickly she heated up some water with the small pot she had brought along and placed a few leaves in to steep as she fished out two cups from her bag. It would seem odd to most that one would have a teapot shaped as oddly as the one she had as well as bring it traveling with them. Though it was important to her that she had it, tea was something that could cure any problem in her opinion.
While waiting she took a skewer and then a careful bite tasting it before chewing and swallowing. It would pass for the moment though it would humiliate her if anyone from her tribe even let it brush their lips. Maybe while she was traveling she would spend some time brushing up on her cooking, that would get rid of such an embarrassing dish by learning from it and doing better the next time.
"Human? So similar to being um...a demon?" She had heard of such things from her grandmother and other various people. Whispers of monsters similar to humans walking like one would in life yet they seemed far from it. Did she really want to go to Lycia with such things roaming about? The thought of meeting such a creature ran chills down her back but...Emon would be drawn to such things. That would be the first place to look for him and it would be silly to ignore it beckoning to her so openly.
After a few short minutes of brooding the lass poured the aromatic golden liquid into two small cups without a single drop spilling over the rim. She lifted it up into her palms with both hands gently and offered it to Jya with a calming smile

Jya was nibbling away at the rabbit meat. The chewing brought her comfort and the taste increased her morals. She didn't want to eat the whole thing but it would more than likely not taste as good if left in her bag. Her little bag now consisted of empty bottles and rat jerky. Yes, she still caught the occasional little bugger but she learned to preserve them better now. They tasted horrible but she believed she had gotten used to them.
When the tea came, she took a sip and immediately felt warmed. It seemed somehow relaxing to eat and drink out at night. She actually felt quite comforted at the moment but there was also something very wrong with such feelings. She rarely cared for comfort, it made her senses dull, she always wanted to be out on the move or aware of any possible enemies. Her eyes drifted down to the tea and looked over towards her swords. She simply just held the cup, still feeling reassured.
"I guess, with any luck we shouldn't encounter any," she said, with a shrug and her best reassuring smile. She didn't plan to encounter any monster.

Lyrt nodded listening to the other speak respectfully. Such things were were important especially when going to foreign territory. It was best to be prepared for anything that may be unexpected as to have a better reaction when something surprising happened.
Slowly she sipped her tea taking in the soft mellow taste of the leaves she had brought with her from home. There was a limited supply of course and she would need to restock from somewhere, though where... It worried her greatly yet there was little use in feeling like so, traveling did not necessarily have the same comforts of home. Though it would be wonderful if it did, there were always a wandering tribe or two she could pass, that would be something nice to hope for.
"I am slightly curious about them..." Lyrt said softly warming her palms with the cup as she finished off the last dregs of the tea. "I was thinking that Emon might have found it interesting and pursued it further...so I..." She fell silent rolling the cup between her hands as she stared at her feet not knowing what else to say. It was foolish to charge into the unknown but if he had been there...

Jya was getting lost into her own thoughts. If they encountered such monsters the best course of action is to either beat them down thoroughly or make a run for it. It was only the two of them travelling at the moment. She tapped her head for thoughts, it would be nice if they got more people to help out. With her new friend here though, she was still reassured to an extent. It was definitely going to be more lively from here on out.
"Nothing wrong with being curious," she grinned, knowing how many times her curiosity had ended in horrible situations. She really shouldn't state them. So she just kept her mouth shut on that matter. It hasn't got her killed yet, no no, that time with Val did not count.
"Don't worry about it, lets first focus on getting there in one piece," she said, quickly gulping down the rest of the tea.
"I think its best to rest up, I'll take the first watch, it must have been a busy day for you!"
