Name: Linius Rothschild
Class*: Knight
Hair Color: Light Brown
Eye Color: Dark Green
Age: 30
Appearance: At 6'5, Linius dwarfs most men, not only in terms of height, but also in terms of sheer muscle. When adorned in his armor, black as the evening and trimmed with gold, he is a truly daunting figure. The way he moves, speaks, and even stands all project an aura of an unwavering discipline and unshakable sense of duty.
Born in**: Ilia
Story***: Born in the military-centric country of Illia as the son of mercenaries, it was only natural that Linius grew up in an environment that trained him for war. From the age of six, he began learning the basic maneuvers for using a spear and maintaining equipment.. His parents regularly took him out into the mountains to hone his survival skills, teaching him to live off the land with whatever was available to him in the most harsh and unforgiving of conditions.
He joined his first mercenary guild at sixteen as a mere foot soldier with no name. His life became that of a typical grunt. He marched, he stood guard duty, he escorted caravans, he stood on the front lines during skirmishes against brigands, untill his golden day came. His platoon marched against a fort taken by bandits, planning to siege it and route the enemy with relative ease. The fight, however, had proven to be far more difficult than expected. There were far more bandits than they had first believed, and worse yet, they had found and learned to operate old ballistae abandoned with the keep. Unnerved, his division officer attempted to call for a retreat while his Commander and fellow mercenaries risked their lives. Linius took his lance and struck him on the back of the head, rendering him unconscious, then lead his division on with the siege, enabling the platoon to break through and slay the enemy. When the Commander came forward to congratulate his officers on a job well done, he was shocked to find out that Linius had taken charge of his division. Out of both respect and gratitude, he promoted Linius, a mere foot, to a position as a junior officer.
Given Linius' dedication and seriousness, it came as a shock when he chose to give up his life as a mercenary, and even more so to discover that he then bent the knee to a Lycian noble woman. For many years now, he has faithfully served Lillianne el Ryerde, following her without doubt and without question. Yet, to this day, he has never told a soul why he took up the mantle of a knight.
