It was just a normal, sunny day in the plains of Sacae. Veigue enjoyed the peace and tranquility he had while being alone outside near a village. He would have traveled further and enjoyed the quiet road ahead, but he heard about recent bandit raids that have been taking place recently and was hired by one of the villagers, so he decided he'd stick around and keep an eye on the place from a distance.
Knowing a certain way bandits start off by attacking towns, he had a great view of the village from where he stood, so he could see if they were coming from any direction. Given that he's always alone on his travels, Veigue had countless run-ins with the no good-doers. The most common reason was for to steal his family's sword.
Veigue decided to do something else while keeping an eye out for the village. He figured a little sword practice wouldn't hurt, sliding his commonly made Slim Sword out while gripping it's scabbard and taking it from his side.

Travel had been surprisingly quiet this last day. Elly had been summoned back to Ilia, for one reason or another, and since Nayru and he could not fly (as far as she knew) she had to head out alone. So here they were, wandering on the plains of Sacae once again. No destination, no real reason...just wandering aimlessly.
If word of mouth was correct, there should be a small settlement coming up soon enough. A simple place to get their bearings and find out where to head next. Aerious found he was drawn to conflict, and that made sense. The most important things tended to be surrounded by conflict. However, right now he was involved in a somewhat more...juvenile task.
Nayru and he had taken to playing a game as they traveled, since the silence seemed to grate on both of their nerves. Simply put, they'd pick a topic and then say a word from that topic. Then the other had to use the last letter of the old word to make a new word in the same topic. As old and knowledgeable as the both of them were, most of the contest could go on for hours before they had to change topic. Nayru had the lead for the time being, 4 games to 2, but that didn't mean he'd let her win. Now the topic was geography, and she'd said 'Peninsula' a bit ago. They put no limit on the time for the turn, as it gave them both time to consider what they (or their opponent) might do.
After a few more minutes, Aerious looked up before responding to her. [red]"Archipelago."[/red] He said with a coy smirk, throwing the pressure back at her. He was so engrossed in their little game that he failed to notice the man standing on the hill, sword out.

Nayru looked at Aerious blankly for a few long moments, trying to reconcile the subject of her thoughts - Elly, to the surprise of absolutely no one, much less herself - to her companion spouting out random words. Arch-OH. Yes. Words. Games. She turned away, a tinge of embarassment on her cheeks, hoping that he wouldn't realize how preoccupied she'd been.
-And they'd already used ocean. The female dragon bit back a sudden urge to swear loudly and thoroughly in an entirely unladylike manner; she would never describe herself as focused on competition, perish the thought, but when a challenge was issued it was only fitting that one rise to the challenge, meet all expectations and excel. Which translated to... well, she didn't like "overly competitive" as a descriptor, but... capable of and willing to rise to a challenge. Yes, that sounded much better.
They continued down the dusty road in silence, Aerious likely smug in his damnable confidence, she - rapidly growing frustrated at a total inability to think of a proper word for geography that WASN'T ocean. Yes, technically it was legal, she thought - was there actually a rule about re-using words? - but that just felt like cheating; it was outright uncouth to respond to a fitting response like that with a word so common and trite. Ostia? Well, it was... man-made geography, of a sort. An area of geography. Also too short.
A tiny part of Nayru's brain helpfully supplied that she was her own worst enemy in this accursed game, but she ignored it with gusto, focusing on anything other than the possibility of her impending doom. Loss. Same thing. Grasping at straws she focused on the surroundings that Aerious ignored, looking for something to give her more time to think without actually admitting she couldn't think of a good word immediately.
Good thing there was a scruffy-looking guy brandishing naked steel atop a bluff nearby, which probably meant either bandits, bandits, or someone who just picked a really bad spot to pretend to kill people. Or bandits! She didn't see a bunch of other guys with poor hygiene so it might just be a normal human pretending to kill people, but - hey, a girl could hope, right?
As subtly as she could manage, which wasn't actually all that subtle at all, Nayru languidly lifted one arm to point at the figure atop the hill for her companion's benefit, not at all against dividing his attention in hopes of limiting his ability to plan out his next move. It had never actually worked on Erim, but - hey, a girl could hope, right? Keeping her voice a touch lower than normal, but still within the range of normal conversation, she responded as though Aerious has never said anything. "Bandits? Or someone interesting." She smiled, transported back for a moment to the last time she had been this forward with anyone, centuries ago. "Perhaps both. We ought to investigate."

Veigue slashed like the wind during his swinging practice. Over all the years he spent after his departure from the Kutolah, sword and sheath strikes weren't a problem compared to his starting days. His mind began to trail off a bit during his training though. He couldn't help but wonder what his sister was currently doing after she was exiled...it's all that crossed his mind occasionally during these past nine years. Despite traveling all over Elibe, they both never crossed paths. Not once. It was a scary thought to think that something happened to her. She was always a tough person to him though, so he felt his worries were groundless.
After performing a back flip with a sword swing, he noticed two individuals from a distant below the hill he stood from. From how out in the open he was, it was most likely that they'd discovered him by now. They seemed to be focused on their own business at the moment, so he refrained from possibly bothering them. But he needed to be suspicious once he thought about it more. He was supposed to be watching the town from bandits. While the two did not fit the description, he had to be careful of anyone.
As he sheathed his sword and kept the scabbard in hand, he stared at the two from the corner of his eye. While he's no psychic, for some strange reason he didn't feel any kind of hostility from them. As looks can be deceiving in certain situations, he figured this time he'll let it slide and keep an eye out for the real bandits. Not wanting to bother or distract them from whatever they were doing, he simply took a few steps back and was about to resume his training...until he heard some grass moving suspiciously...like the sound of footsteps.
There were some bushes nearby and the sound had to come from there. He turned around and gazed upon them, resting his hand on the handle of his sword. He didn't move a muscle, but he frowned upon seeing the bushes move. He was still a bit far away though.
Suddenly, someone leaped out and landed in front of the bushes. Seconds later, two more emerged. Veigue examined their appearance and soon after tightly gripped the handle of his Slim Sword. Wielding axes...ragged attire...yeah, they were bandits all right. Though instead of the village, they seemed to have their sights on him. Chances are, it was for the sword on the other side of his waist.
"Hmm...what're ya doin' up here, laddie?" one of the brutes stated before following up with a giggle.
Veigue didn't bother to respond. He calmed down and released the grip from his handle to pretend like he let his guard down. There were only three of them...not like how the villager who hired him described it. According to them, it was an entire group. Either these weren't the same bandits, or they were actually smart for a change and was up to something to divide their numbers.
Nonetheless, his chances of victory was better than taking on a whole brigade. But fighting more than one enemy is a challenge itself. He at least refrained from making any hasty moves until he found out what those three were up to...

Aerious' mind was deep in thought when Nayru pointed, as such he missed it at first until she started speaking. Bandits? That didn't start with O, and it certainly had nothing to do with geography! This was the part where she would try to cleverly explain herself with some wordplay or some such, she seemed to love playing with words. Most dragons did, Aerious had noticed.
He noticed now, however, that she was pointing at something. A human off on a hill, swinging a sword around. Bandit's usually didn't practice out in the open so close to a town, so Aerious doubted it. [red]"Ah, that was what you meant. For a second I thought you were suggesting that bandits were a part of geography."[/red] He said with a small smirk as he studied the swordsman. [red]"No, I don't think so. But he's not the only one here, I can smell others. Maybe the tow in close?"[/red] He suggested, before he noticed the swordsman swing around as three people came out of the bushes. Aerious arched an eyebrow.
[red]"Or you could be right. Three on one doesn't sound fair, you want to go even it up then?"[/red] He asked, more rhetorically. [red]"Just try to keep it going until we see what the kid can do, I don't want his opponent running off in terror."[/red] He said as he started to walk towards the group of them at a casual pace. He hadn't drawn his blade, or even taken much of a combat stance yet. He was feeling excited and a little jumpy too. Somehow, the idea of fighting somebody he totally outclassed that deserved the beating had a bit of humor in it.
He supposed it all depended on where you were standing on that.

"They certainly seem to be as prevalent and consistent as geography," Nayru groused quietly, wondering if there was some way she could justify that as an answer. Bandits? Obandits? Hmmm. Highwaymen, ne'er-do-wells, hooligans, pirates - another damn link to ocean! - desperados... ummm... she squinted a little at the newcomers as they appeared, clad in what seemed to be typical bandit garb. Pillagers? "I am uncertain as to the relative equality of either of us against all four of them, but appearances are less important than deeds, and perhaps we can save one worthy life at the cost of a few - less so."
Raider? Ravager? Marauder? No, she'd already thought of desperados... maybe. Frowning less from any attempt to intimidate anyone so much as an unconscious reaction to her desperate attempt to think of a solution to Aerious's challenge, Nayru strode onwards at her companion's - beginning to border on friend's - side towards the one human who didn't seem to blatantly be a bandit. Unless he was secretly a bandit, and this was all an act to lure in travelers. Highwaymen at their finest!
-Well, in Elly's absence, perhaps she didn't need to worry quite as much about punching someone in half. Even if it would still raise awkward questions. Okay. No punching anyone in half, even if they were ugly enough to deserve it. Raising her voice as they approached, the humanoid who was so very far from human spoke with an ethereal smile, the total lack of weaponry entirely evident on her body as her clarion tones rolled across the countryside. "You all seem like fine gentlemen. Would you care to help a pair of lost travelers to find their way?"
Theatrical and overblown and Nayru had a sudden horrible sensation that Elly was rubbing off on her. Or maybe it was okay to ham it up once in a while. She couldn't say that they - didn't deserve to be punched in half, but it seemed - cruel, almost, to not give the fools a chance to disengage. This was no righteous crusade; it was murder.
"Outlaws, by the way." Face betraying none of her momentary inner struggle, Nayru's voice dropped precipitously to normal conversational tones, her head inclined just a few degrees towards Aerious. She was still smiling, though a hint more impishly than before as she casually adjusted the ornate golden bracers on her right arm - a promise of unbridled violence to anyone who knew their meaning as much as a subtly calculated lure to ensure the subhuman scum didn't actually take the unstated offer of a moment ago. "Geography starting with the letter O. They certainly fit most of the definitions I am familiar with, in a metaphorical sense as well as to a looser degree literal. One might even argue that they are a geographical constant more enduring than natural geography!"
Cat that got the cream? Confirmed.

Veigue braced himself as the bandit spoke and tried to lure him in with deceitful words. What was it that they wanted? If they wanted his sword, it would have been apparent if they were focusing on talk about it. But they weren't. The bandit kept trying to demand where he came from...which was odd indeed for a bandit. Before he could possible respond, he noticed the two from below approaching. This was bad. He had idea who they were and what their intentions were by getting closer. Five against one didn't seem to be a good thought at the moment.
...Until the lady of the two asked a question. He figured they were trying to help him, but Veigue still kept an eye on them. He maintained focus on the bandits.
"...Eh? Scram!" one of the bandits rudely replied to the woman who spoke. "Go help ya self. We got somethin' we need to take care of first..."
That was all Veigue needed to hear. It was for certain they wanted his head. Why was a different matter. All he did now was wait, tightening the grip on his sword's sheath.
The bandit inched closer to the Myrmidon, but turned his attention to the two travelers, as he had a plan up his sleeve. "Hmm...actually, take that back, lass. We'll help ya...if you help us...heh heh."
"This guy here...he's with those nasty villagers. They wish to eradicate poor old fellas like us...for no reason." the bandit whipped out an axe, but held it on his shoulder while giving another one of his deceitful smiles. "We may be bandits, but we got some honor. He's the evil one 'ere...not us. So...if ya help us teach this little baddie a lesson and talk some sense into that evil village, then we can help you good 'travelers'!"
Veigue didn't like the sound of that. He remained in position, but he made no sudden movements. It was pretty apparent that this could have been a set up all along. The villager he took the request from didn't seem like the average villager when he thought back on it. He had to admit...they weren't too stupid for bandits like he thought they were...but he refrained from any guessing in the job at the moment. The problem was if the two travelers will believe their lie.
Veigue looked to the two, staring at them for a few seconds as the bandit told his little tale, then looked away as he closed his eyes. He wanted to believe they were good and smart people due to their appearance. It was all on their response to this absurd agreement to determine his next course of action, as he kept his thumb on his sword's guard for a quick draw of the blade if needed.
He still didn't attempt to respond in defense as he assessed the situation, because it could possibly backfire and end up making him look like the villain here...but standing around silently was basically the same thing. He prepared himself for all the possible outcomes. If they believed and agreed with the bandits without asking him directly, he was just going to fight them all out of self-defense. It was not the best course of action...as well as the most dangerous one, but a situation like this required a calm mind and patience...just like his sister taught him. He couldn't exactly choose immediately as to how he'll retaliate until something happened anyway.

Aerious sighed, not even really listening to the men speak to them. [red]"That's stretching it Nayru, even for you. Fine, I'll accept that one, you're too witty for your own good."[/red] He muttered, thinking slightly on the 'S' he now had to work with. Stream? No, too easy. They both had that dragon pride to work with, they wouldn't accept the easy answers, that was just boring.
He looked back to the four men in front of him again, now that they seemed to have asked a question. [red]"Why Nayru!"[/red] He said with mock surprise, even playful for him. [red]"I do believe these fine gentlemen are inviting us to discard our benevolent lives to join them in a future of robbing, pillaging and general havoc raising! How interesting, I've never met a brigand that tried to recruit me before, maybe the population is getting low?"[/red]
He was taunting them, obviously, but that was the fun of working with humans. They were easy to fool, for the most part. [red]"Still though, to invite a dancer to be a highwayman? That must be some kind of record, I don't think you look intimidating enough to be a real terror of the road, Nayru. Can you do a good 'angry' face?"[/red] He said, turning back to Nayru while trying to keep from laughing outright.
Nothing would anger people more then someone not taking you seriously.

"...Nasty villagers." The smile froze in place on her face, cracked and chipping as Nayru struggled to keep a pleasant expression - a plasticine smile, one that no longer reached her icy blue eyes. Perhaps the fine hill they stood upon could use a fine coat of blood and pulped organs. Maybe she could convince the remaining human she was half bear. There was always the bracers as an explanation, but humanity as a whole tended to come up with their own explanations for the unnatural, to rationalize unexplainable events as being the result of natural causes, at least so far as their imaginations extended.
Aerious's response caught her off guard; it seemed so inappropriate and casual that the younger dragon nearly transferred her displeasure to him before she realized belatedly what he was... probably... doing. Of course he wouldn't actually be so casual about the whole thing, and even less likely to be anywhere near happy. He continued to showcase new sides to himself as she gradually came to know him better; she wondered for a moment how he would react to getting to know her better, then discarded the thought, still somewhat rattled by his reaction. It trickled through to her words, the uncertain awkwardness of her pose as she sank lower, prepared to move in case of attack; she avoided dropping into a proper martial pose, but anyone vaguely familiar with posture would see her movement for what it was.
"I-I can look..." Nayru trailed off, half in confusion, half in hopes of not egging Aerious into proving it. Her looking intimidating tended to involve skirting the verge of losing control, which was not something she wanted to showcase in a situation where some semblance of sanity was relevant. She opted to focus on the subject at hand in hopes of keeping her dignity intact, looking impassively at the swordsman, who seemed to be determined to keep his mouth shut. So he had a sword and didn't get on her nerves. That was already two more positive attributes than the bandits seemed likely to ever evince. "And what is your name, your tale? You seem a different sort from... these."
The younger dragon let the foul taste roll off her tongue as she referred to the bandits, sorely wishing that they would attack so she could plead self defense when questioned on the subject of their horrific butchery. There was something more here, though; a trail that she could sense but not follow, a truth that eluded her without knowing the facts of the situation, and bandits were untrustworthy at the best of times.

Veigue was sort of puzzled by the actions of the two for a moment as he witnessed the chat unfold. He felt as though things were now about to get out of hand. He kept his grip on his scabbard, clenching it tightly so he could prepare for any kind of combat. It was then that the man's companion asked Veigue some questions. He still didn't want to say anything, but he was about to look to her and respond until the bandit displayed a burst of sudden rage.
"...Eh, what?! Ya makin' fun of us, fools?! We ain't idiots!" the bandit beat his chest before swing his axe down beside him. "Forget it! You both are dyin' with this punk 'ere!!"
The other two followed their leader, running until they met with Veigue and were about to pass him to attack the two travelers. Just as the leading one was about to be beside Veigue, the swordsman of Sacae placed a small smirk on his face before opening his eyes again.
"...They say idiocy can be bliss."
Within that second, the swordsman rose his sheathed sword and smacked the first bandit in the center of his face with the end of the scabbard, then spun it around with both hands as he turned to his right and hit the second one the same way, but on the side of his face. The last one was about to attack with his axe, but Veigue barely dodged to his right and impaled his scabbard into the bandit's stomach before kicking him back away from him. As the bandits were recovering, Veigue took the time to slide the Slim Sword out it's scabbard and get in the fighting stance of his sword and sheath style.
That managed to keep them at bay for only a few seconds, as they were ready to charge again. Veigue had hoped that his first assault in his fight would buy enough time for the two travelers to prepare themselves for battle if they wanted to be involved in this rumble.

Aerious sighed slightly. [red]"Our career as bandits just left, such a shame."[/red] He said to Nayru, still not taking the men seriously at all. And then they charged, and the swordsman interrupted all three of them. Aerious arched an eyebrow at his unique style of fighting, letting a whistle pierce his lips.
[red]"He's got some nice moves...for a human."[/red] He whispered to Nayru. [red]"Still, let's not make him push his luck. Let's keep the other two occupied until he takes out his."[/red] Aerious said with a nod, advancing on the group of them.
When they saw him approaching, one of them immediately broke off from fighting Magnus and turned towards him. Aerious merely gestured to the man to come at him, and the man obliged with a shout and a charge. With a quick tap into his stone and a push on the ground, he quickly bound over the man, now standing behind him as the aggressor tried to stop in surprise. He failed, and wound up with a face full of dirt for his trouble. Aerious didn't even fully face the man, instead speaking over his shoulder.
[red]"Watch your step, it can be pretty tricky out here."[/red]

A wrinkle appeared on her brow as the silver-haired dragon regarded Aerious with uncharacteristic suspicion for a moment, really starting to wonder if he was taking this at all seriously. Was he having fun with this? They were bandits! Undisciplined, heartless murderers who lived only to prey off of defenseless humans! An agonizing death would be more than any of them deserved; they ought to be ground to dust, pulverized and broken until nothing remained.
Aaaaaand Nayru was suddenly really glad that her thoughts were private, recovering a moment later. She had known that Elly being gone was bothering her, but having opened up even a little had also weakened the locks in her emotional control, and there was some... buildup. An ethereal smile built around the corners of her lips, but one tinged by something ugly, a creature that did not fit her regular persona.
Still. A meltdown now would serve no purpose, and only leave Aerious with questions she would rather not answer - but that did not translate to any particular need for a gentle touch.
When the man charged, a brief moment of indecision highlighting his uncertainty at treating an unarmed woman as an actual threat, her facade cracked for a moment; rather than wait for him to approach, her form shifted abruptly, darting towards him as an arm snaked out. It was of course an understandable misjudgement of strength that she held a little tighter than was absolutely necessary, perfectly reasonable given the foes they had so recently faced, that his arm snapped like a brittle twig as it was forced behind his back, her other arm circled around his throat, one more accident from finishing the job.
It took more self-control than she had hoped to keep her body under control, but other than gradually mounting grinding pressure, Nayru was quite proud of herself for stopping there. She wasn't exactly sure how you were supposed to knock someone out without pulping their skull, though, so she remained awkwardly conjoined with the borderline-catatonic man, hoping that... something helpful would happen, or that maybe Aerious would be too busy toying with his new friend to notice one missing bandit.

When the other bandits went to face off with the two travelers, Veigue set his focus on the foe in front of him. From the sound of things behind him without looking, the two seemed to handle themselves extremely well, so he didn't have to worry about their safety for the moment. The ragged man in front of him maintained his bloodthirsty smile on his face as he kept swinging his axe around as if he was warming up.
Veigue kept in stance, unsure as to when his foe would stop playing around and get on with the fight. As much as he didn't want to, the myrmidon felt as though he had to take this bandit's life if it came down to it. If he held back even a second, it would give his foe the chance he needed to kill him. Other than the fact that people like him were cold-hearted killers, but he noticed a pattern to which he had been attacked in the past. Either for his sword...or for his life alone. These bunch seemed to desire the latter...which was the suspicious part.
"Heh heh! So, I'm givin' ya one last chance, sellsword. You know why we want ya, so just give in and you might live. At least for another da--"
During his enemy's talk, Veigue rushed in at his quickest speed and swung his sword horizontally, slicing through the bandit's side while catching him off guard. He ended up turning back around and waiting for his enemy to recover.
The bandit's wound dripped with blood, which resulted in him to get angry and approach Veigue in a relentless assault after taking in his wound's burn. With only taking on one chump compared to three at once, the swordsman could focus on playing both evasive and offensive at the same time. The man kept swinging his axe at a slow pace. To Veigue's advantage, he dodged a few and parried the rest. Then he countered and smashed his scabbard onto the side of the bandit's face and performed a single spin kick to his side with his right leg. He finally concluded his chained assault with an upwards vertical attack from his Slim Sword, cutting the bandit from his stomach to the lower chest. This caused his foe stumble and fall on his back as Veigue slowly sheathed his blade.
"...If you were focused, you would have lasted longer." he looked downward to the pained ragged man with a frown.
If the bandit would have sat there and bled to death or decided to run away, then Veigue had no reason to further attack, unless the bandit wanted to fight some more. It didn't seem like the case for a bit, as his enemy didn't rise, but was on the ground suffering from his wounds. He wasn't going to take his full attention off the bandit, but Veigue figured until something happened, he was going to assist the two travelers if they looked like they were having trouble.
He looked to the man who had a sword still enclosed in it's sheath. He seemed to be toying around with his opponent rather than fighting him seriously. It was quite dangerous to play around with an armed fighter, even if you were armed yourself. That worried Veigue a bit, but only because he had not seen the true fighting potential of this apparent sword fighter as of yet. As such, he merely left them alone for the moment. He seemed to have his own fight under control.
He then examined what unfolded between the last bandit and the woman. She got the upper hand of the bandit, that was for sure. He was actually amazed at her strength to hold a brute in place like that. But she seemed to hesitate on finishing the job from how he assessed. That would only lead him to believe that she didn't want to kill him. If that certainly was the case, then Veigue would greatly respect her desire...but if the bandit were to break lose, there was a slight chance that he would get in a pretty accurate counter attack on her. Not wanting to see that happen, the swordsman darted towards the two.
As he sprinted, he adjusted his grip on his scabbard, as he was going to aim for a vital point without using his sword's blade. That way, he could at least have the chance to knock the bandit out cold for a while. With the very handle of his sword being his desired choice of the blow, he slowly slid the blade out when he arrived in front of the bandit. When he did, the sword was drawn halfway out and he impaled the handle into an area near his torso, as his hand was touching the guard of his sword to make the impact that much more stronger to compensate for his weapon's low strength. He witnessed the bandit let out a rather disturbing scream, so he assumed that he would fall down soon enough if he was released from the woman's hold.
Regardless of what happened, he allowed his blade to fall back in it's sheath. He looked back over to the other man only for a brief second before looking to the woman.
"Your friend seems to be having fun over there." he stated with slight smile, then afterwards remembering that a few minutes ago, she asked for his name, but he was too busy countering the bandits to answer. So he immediately added with, "...And my apologies for earlier. I'm Veigue."

It took effort to restrain herself when Nayru realized that the human was charging at her to attack, visible in how her muscles coiled and expression darkened, but the momentary natural reaction was quelled by her conscious mind, the realization that he was likely attacking her still-living prisoner barely convincing enough to help her stand down. Fortunately for both of them, reason won out over reflex and rage; the dragon braced herself for the impact, the barest shudder in her frame from the impact as he closed, impaling the bandit on his sword's... hilt.
Nayru was left to stand there, awkwardly, a now-dying man held in her arms, a momentary scream interrupted when her arm tightened further around his throat, now reaching the point of strangulation. At least he knew how to react - she couldn't help but envy him a little in that regard, torn between losing her temper at the other mortal for not making it clear that he hadn't planned to attack her and a tenuous understanding that she should... probably... thank him. Maybe. She wasn't really sure.
With a nigh-imperceptible shrug, the silvery dragoness opted to compromise, snapping the brigand's neck with contemptuous ease and an explosive crack as vertebrae were ground to dust in an instant. Where feeble struggles had once held sway there was only a slack corpse in her arms, one that fell to the ground without further ado as soon as it was loosed.
Aerious certainly couldn't complain if the guy was already dying - by some perspectives, she had even spared the unfortunate a gradual, agonizing death by granting him such swift release! Nayru smiled thinly to herself, an ethereal tinge at the corners of her lips rather than anything resembling a genuine look of pleasure, regarding Veigue with renewed interest. He had proved to be quite prompt and effective in his retaliation, something she could respect; violence for its own sake was deplorable, but in defense of one's life it was only meet that one show some modicum of excellence.
"Thank you, Veigue," her smile grew a touch more genuine, almost mischievous. Yeah, Elly had definitely been a terrible influence. "-though I fear that your princess may be in another castle. I must thank you for not running me through as well, though I confess to beginning to wonder when you began your charge." Which essentially translated to don't do that to me again or I'll beat you to death with the corpse, though Nayru felt that part was better left insinuated, but unsaid. There were more interesting topics at hand, anyways. "You seem to be somewhat familiar with these bandits, if their words hold aught in the wise of meaning. Have you met them before?"
She inclined her head a few degrees, the slightest of nods as she acknowledged his skill. "Regardless, you acquitted yourself admirably. You show great skill - and greater promise."
In more ways than one.

Aerious was having far more fun then he'd allowed himself to have for a very long time. There was no way to mince words in this, he was toying with his prey. He wasn't much faster then the bandit, but his strength allowed him to jump around, at heights and angles most humans would be hard pressed to duplicate. After his initial vault over his head, Aerious had simply been dancing around, watching his opponent get more exhausted and infuriated with each missed swing.
[blue]"J-Jus...Stop wiggling around you jackass!"[/blue] He shouted, charging at the dragon again. Aerious chuckled to himself and checked to the side. Ah, that swordsman was helping Nayru out, good they were plenty distracted.
[red]"As you wish..."[/red] Aerious said with a shrug, digging into his power again as the axe fell, striking him in the collar cleanly. The bandit's face split with a victorious smile, which rapidly began to fade into a look of sheer terror as Aerious just smiled at him, though that smile getting much darker then it had been a moment ago. Play time was over.
[blue]"W-w-w-what kind of monster..?"[/blue] The man stammered, but Aerious interrupted him by pulling his right arm back.
[red]"A man about to die should have other things on his mind."[/red] He declared, and then pushed his fist forward. The brigand was so shocked that he didn't even move as the miniature boulder moved towards him, thankfully he barely even felt the contact, as his head snapped back at a grotesque angle before the body fell limp into the grass. Aerious readjusted his tunic for a moment, before looking over the now dead man. [red]"Hmmm...too violent I wonder?"[/red] He mused, before turning to address the newcomer and Nayru.
[red]"Well, I think we passed. I guess that makes us the new bandits of this part!"[/red] He announced, walking over to the pair of them. He laughed slightly as he did so. [red]"Poor taste, I know. I've got to ask, by the way, it's rare to see anyone fight so cleanly with their sheath like that. Been a long time since I saw someone do it well. Where did you learn that?"[/red]
He hadn't bothered introducing himself yet, such things could wait he supposed.
