"Not my best idea, huh, Arman?" Zerene grunted, petting the amethyst wyvern's snout. Her partner let out a snort and began to move away, aware that something was wrong. She reached out, but found that she could not quite reach him from this distance. Her breathing had become more shallow since they managed to land in the foliage. There was a calm in the forest that only made her even more uneasy.
She wanted to clean and bandage her wounds. That was just too much to ask for apparently, even trying to pick herself up to lean against the tree caused her to lose breath. She didn't even have the strength to cry out in pain from the straining herself. That was good though, it didn't attract unwanted attention. It also meant she was unable to call for help.
As she speculated how long she had left to live, a drop of water caused her to look up. It was a rainy day, the leaves of the tree could only help her so much. Closing her eyes, she let the drops run down her face. She wanted to cry, but that would be a sign of weakness. Her grandfather never liked her to show any sign of weakness. More drops, as cool as splashing fresh mountain water on one's face, fell on top of her. Perhaps she will die thanks to the rain. She didn't speculate for long as Arman dashed out the foliage, a poor critter caught in his jaws.
The wyvern dropped the dead rabbit onto her laps. She felt the creature's fur and gently shook her head. As the creature nuzzled closer to her face, she took the hand that was holding the wound and lightly stroked him again. She didn't want to die, not yet, but she needed help. Gently pushing against his wyvern nudge, she pointed out into the unknown forest.
"Go, look for help," she weakly said. The wyvern ran for it, dashing into the forest, letting out cries and roars of his own. Once or twice he came back empty handed but that didn't cause him to give up. All she could do was wait and hope the wyvern leads someone to her. She prayed, if there was truly a higher being, she wished they will let her live as they had when she was just a babe.

Abel blinked the rain from his eyes as he looked about. He wasn't sure why he was in Bern again. He had left after he had lost Eric those few years ago. After Lycia he had found himself wandering again, traveling more than anything. He would help here and there but nothing ever lasted long. To everyone else he might as well of been another refugee in the war torn land. I wish there was something I could do, he thought as he peered out from his dark cloak. He often found himself thinking of himself as some sort of woodsman, what with all the traveling he did. He wished he had the skills to back the notion.
If only you could succeed at anything, Abel thought, bringing a scowl to his face. The last month had left him to his thoughts, many he wished would go away. He had grown, or so he thought, since he had left home. He had traveled far and met many people, but where where they? Many dead and the others missing, it seemed to him. Perhaps the mercenaries back home had been right.
"Go away," Abel growled at the thoughts. He denied them with every fiber of his being and yet they still held some truth to them. A truth he didn't want to acknowledge. A sudden noise from far off brought him from his thoughts.
"What...?" Abel began, looking up from the ground. He could hear a second roar, closer, telling him it had been his thoughts that made it seem distant. His eyes brightened a little. He wasn't sure what was happening, but it was something. Perhaps this was his chance at redemption, a chance to truly change something for the better. He shrugged his cloak into a better position as he trudged toward the sound. The sound of hope.

Zerene couldn't help, but focus on how tired she was. The melodic drops of rain didn't help much. Even Arman's wails seem to drown out as time went by. She knew that it would be the end of her if she fell asleep now. All she needed was to hold out, just a little more she kept telling herself. The small pool of blood wasn't much of an encouragement at the moment.
However the most determined to find help seemed to by Arman. He looked about desperately for anyone to help. Sure enough his luck held as he saw a young man off in the distance. He called out, hoping to attract his attention before charging. His saddle was weighing him down but that was no reason to give up. So when he was close enough, he swing his neck around and tried to motion for him to follow.
Charging back to the scene of his rider, he moved beside his partner and used his body to her upright. She was sagging towards the wound on her right side. He called out some more, hoping the man had followed. Zerene on the other hand tried to reach into one of the satchels for her supplies. Just a vulnerary would do and some bandages. Her strength fell through, it was just too much for her to handle at the time.

Valin had some how lost sight of his traveling companions but he thought it was for the better he was a wanted man in Bern and he didn't want them to be hurt because of it. The last thing he wanted to find was Balgoth out here. Not until he had brought Shogushi home. Albues had taken the rider far into the woodline. The drake looked distort and was looking for something."whats wrong scale breath? Smell a fire or something." Valin said rubbing the wyverns head.
It was at that moment that he saw a young woman in armor and she looked injured. Valin and Albues swooped breaking branches as they went. "Are you alirght?" Valin said landing with a hard thud. The knight dismounted and took out his healing salve. Rushing over to the women he said. "I have some Vulnerary if it would help. I am Valin Free..." It was at that moment a wyvern ran to the woman and he realized she was a Wyvern rider of Bern. He hoped he could help her without her recognizing him. He ran to her side pushing past her mount.

Abel made his way toward the sounds as fast as he could. The rain had slowed him down as he made his way across the unfamiliar terrain, but even so it had not taken him long. The thoughts of failure still hung in the back of his mind, trying to taunt him into doing nothing; but he willed them away and tried to focus on the task at hand. He couldn't let stupid ideas and fear keep him from doing what was right.
It was several moments before another cry rang out. Abel's eyes came from the ground at the sound. It was closer this time. He peered through the rain as he moved toward it, catching sight of what looked like wyvern waving frantically. It took off and he scrambled after it, alternating he gaze between it and his feet so he wouldn't lose it.
Is his rider injured? Abel questioned to himself as he did his best to keep up. It was the only reason he could think of that made sense. Or it could be a trap. He shook the thought away. It was possible but he'd rather get caught in an ambush then leave an injured person out in the rain. He smiled at the thought but it was quickly torn from his face when another wyvern came flying by, almost clipping him. He reached for his sword, the thought of the ambush coming back, but let his hand fall. The rider had landed nearby and was calling out to someone. He quickly followed to see what was happening.
The small area held two wyvern, one being the one who had almost ran over him. The other was the one from before as far as he could tell, and was looking over the girl that the other man was looking over. Blood ran from her side and covered the ground. Abel quickly pushed past the wyvern and the man, his breath catching when he saw the girl. At first glace her hair and young face made him think of his sister, but after actually looking at her face he realized it was her. Of course it's not her, he thought.
Abel quickly pulled off his cloak and pressed the one dry spot onto her side. He had already used most of his extra cloth to keep his swords dry and the rest would have to be used as a bandage. "She's bleeding out and we need to keep her dry. Is there a chance you could ask your wyvern to put his wing over her?" Abel said to the man crouching beside him. He looked up a moment to catch his eye. "I'm Abel by the way."

Valin nodded. "Albues Wings here!" The Black drake run over and covered from the rain. The rider looked at the wound and then around for something to cover it. "Albues cut." The Rider said to his mount pointing at his left sleeve. Albues bit through the cloth and the rider ripped it the rest off the way off. He then poured Vulnery salve on the wounded and pressed down on the cloth. He turned to the swordsman and said. "My friends are near by and one is a healer. Can you ride a wyvern or do need to find them?"

"Not in a long time," Abel said. A healer? He wondered how far they were. He watched as the wyvern tore it's riders shirt and quickly moved his cloak aside to let the rider put some salve on her wound; hopefully it'd help stop the bleeding. "She's unconcious so we should get her there fast. I'll try and follow with this guy." He motioned to the unconcious rider's mount.
So yet again I'm no help, Abel thought to himself as he flung the cloak back over himself. Though a healer would be the best thing, it didn't keep the thought from hurting. What had been the point of running through the rain to help her if there was someone more capable? Though what if there hadn't? She'd of just died if he hadn't come. He frowned a moment before leaning back down by the other man. "It's probably best if you two carry her. How far and which direction?"

“I am pretty sure Mr. Valin is somewhere around here”, spoke Shugo as he looked around the woods. They had made their way back to Bern, but it seemed he and Yashi had gotten separated from Valin. A worried expression covered Shugo face, but Yashi remained calm throughout the whole ordeal.
“Don’t worry so much little one”, spoke Yashi as she patted Shugo on the head. “Valin will probably be back soon”, spoke the healer. “Please remember he has a wyvern with him, and as much as you played around it I think it has your sent in his memory. He will show back up.”
“But what if someone shoots another arrow at him”, spoke Shugo with concern. Though Yashi did not show it she too was a bit worried. Bern was not a place for a healer and a young boy to be traveling alone. Though in truth Yashi had traveled the rugged land alone, she still preferred to move in a group.

Lin pushed through the woodline searching for Valin. The ride was rough going compared to the plains, The woman had been seen the black drake ten minutes before but she lost sight of it. She thought about going back to the healer and the boy, they couldn't defend themselves if anything happened but Yashi and Shugo still didn't trust her. The red haired man had never changed his kindness and defense of her and this confused her more then anything in her life. She suddenly hear voices in the distance and one sounded like the idiot. "Valin! Is that You?" The Nomad said rushing into the clearing.
Valin Picked up the injured woman and holds her Tight to his chest. "Thats the problem I don't know?" He said looking at the swordsman. Then her heard Lins voice and watched as her horse bust through the tree line. "Lin? Wheres The others?" "Not here but I can lead you.""Good. Where taking him as well." Valin said mounting Albues. "Can we trust him?" "I trust You." The knight said taking to the sky. Lin bit her lip then turned to the swordsman and offered her hand to help him up. "I'm Lin of Djute clan."

Zerene struggled for conscious, but found no refuge. She struggled to smile, but at this point, she couldn't lift her eyelids any longer. It was then that she realized that help was here. There was no way for her speak, so she hoped the others can take of the situation as her conscious faded. She just hoped that she won't be crossing the life and death threshold anytime soon. Arman snapped at her, but that didn't work hardly as well as he hoped. So all he could do was whimper and look at the strangers for help.
