"It is my job to watch over my fellow soldiers", spoke Euphemious towards Asri. He kept his voice level and tried to hide his distaste the best he could. To his surprise Dan called out to him. Apparently he wanted him to come with them to the meeting. "Wait you want me to come along", spoke Euphemious a bit surprised. He did not expect for him to be chosen. He was not green to the cause, but he was greed to Aiden's unite. He only served in one real fight under Dan's command and that was the failed supply mission. He wondered if it had anything to do with the conversation they had in the barracks. Maybe Dan wanted him to get some experience in negotiation. "Thank you for the opportunity sir", spoke Euphemious as he walked away to give his team mate his canteen.
On the way back another person had rushed into the camp. It was another armored unite and a rich one by the way his armor looked. Euphemious could tell the man had been in quite a few scraps in his years.

There was an air of tension around the party, and it was all either directed at Fort Macendew or Augustus. Many rebels had openly expressed distaste and disdain for dark magic while Zacharia was with them, even if he was technically their superior in status. They disregarded him unless he was required at the time, and it made him feel immaturely indignant when they went on about it. The "wet behind the ears" comment stung especially after Euphemious pointed out what it meant to him(even if it did apply). "I, uhm, alright. We should mobilize, shouldn't we? Most of you--us have our equipment on already." Dan was never without a helmet, even if he wasn't wearing armor. It was a little odd, but the mage trusted the knight too much to really think anything bad of it. People had strange quirks; his was getting up early in the morning and magicking until his fingertips bled. Who was he to talk about being weird?
"Kelv--in's here too, uh, excellent." He turned around to face the group of men sipping from their canteens: some were listening, some weren't. "Uh, how about twenty minutes to g-uhear gear up, an' then we march in pairs up to their front door or something like that?" Flipping through his book again, the student looked at a crude sketch on a spare sheet of parchment of the way he'd thought about the talks. It was relatively simple in design, but ink was something they couldn't afford to waste. "We'll need a horse or two in case someone needs to call for reinforcements." He looked back up to Kelvin, his green armor unpolished but still impressive in the morning sun's sheen. "Uh, maybe you could help? We don't uh have many horses ready to g-go at the moment..." It only just occurred to him how the majority of them wore green when Bern's national color was red. We are rebels, might as well set a few fashion trends while we're at it, right? he pondered to himself. "And uh..." he didn't look at Augustus as he spoke to him, out of the primordial fear that he'd be burning holes into his head with that piercing gaze. "Uh... I, uh. Maybe you could helpp Kelvin, or maybe you could c-come with us.. Mistress Clara might feel better if there was a dar-- 'n elder magus like you to ease her nerves..." All of this speculation was simply that--speculation. But Daniel did take his words to heart, which was simultaneously uplifting and depressing. Uplifting if he was right, depressing if he wasn't. If the big man didn't listen to his instincts rather than Zach's, the boy could get them all killed.

"Yes Euphimous, I would like you to come along." Aidan responded rather matter-of-factly. "There's many parts of being a leader, and just like battle is best learned on the battlefield, diplomacy is best learned first hand." Aidan was a real 'hands-on' type of person when it came to learning, he was thrown into this situation with almost no information or plans and somehow has not only managed to not get chewed up and spit out, but carve out a nice little niche for himself. He was still learning a whole bunch, but it was better to not let anyone know that. He needed to appear as if this all came naturally, for appearances sake if nothing else.
He looked at the newly arrived Kelvin, Kelvin had been suspicious of Aidan since day one. For good reason naturally, but Aidan always felt like he was stepping on eggshells around the green commander, it put him a bit ill at ease for him to just show up like this. From what Aidan's heard, it was his unit that evolved and mutated into this strange conglomeration of rebellion soldiers, which while it meant little in actuality since they didn't answer to him, it gave him a sort of strange seniority of all the soldiers. It was best to try to not get on his bad side, which, as explained, was a little hard due to his suspicions of the knight. Aidan would be suspicious too, but it was never quite as fun being on the other side of things.
There was quite a small coalition, Saturos, Zach, and Euph would be with him. Nacht and Kelvin would be going on their own volition naturally, it wasn't too unusual for a commander to bring their second in these sorts of situations. The knight was a little unusual, but nothing out of the ordinary, this wasn't a particularly high security sort of situation so it was of no harm really. He doubted any of the other commanders would care, some of the commanders didn't hold Aidan in very high regards, and while some others did they weren't overly concerned with him. Truthfully he didn't even wish to speak up in this negotiations, he wasn't terribly skilled in diplomacy and he'd hate to be the reason they didn't have their requests met. He wouldn't just stand idly by if he saw need to speak, but he hoped it wouldn't come to that.
"We're leaving shortly, everyone get yourselves ready. I don't want to keep anyone waiting. Meet back here in twenty minutes, as Zach suggested. The proceedings will be starting soon. So take care of business, use the latrine, don't want to have to leave in the middle of talks."

Nacht mulled over Zach's words for a brief time before simply nodding and then looked back over to Aidan. There was a certain matter he needed to bring up with the commander. Hopefully it would prove a useful question to ask. Receiving a negative answer wouldn't really matter much in the long run, either. Regardless, it seemed they had another 20 minutes before actually leaving, so might as well get to asking.
"There is something I'd like to talk to you about personally before we leave Aidan. Do you mind? I suppose it can wait though if you want."
