Oleg walked the road, his legs sinking into the mud and rising up from it. The air smelled of trouble and of rain. He looked around, noticing a horse riding figure coming the same way as he did. Maybe just some traveler. Oleg shrugged, continuing along, but looking behind from time to time, just to make sure the figure would not come too close and look threatening.

“Father”, spoke Oichi with surprise as she saw Oleg walking through the mud. She figured that he would have had a horse by now. Seeing as they were going the same direction Oichi figured she could give him a ride. “Umm do you need a ride”, spoke the maiden. Her horse was big enough for the both of them to ride, but it would slow them down a bit.

"I can walk. A horse would be disadvantageous for my strategies n battle... You go on ahead, I got you if you get into trouble." Oleg nodded, continuing his waddle as he looked around. Nothing... But he did feel that something was out there. Probably just some animals on their hunt. But still...

“Trouble”, spoke Oichi. She did not have the same battle senses that Oleg had. She had not fought in any real battles before and to be truthful she did not want too. Oleg words started to worry her. “You don’t think they would come back do you”, she spoke in a uncertain tone. “Umm father”, spoke Oichi. The word seemed a bit weird for her. She had never really said it before. “You don’t mind if I travel with you “, she asked. The young maiden was frightened by the idea.

"If you want to. If you are Graces daughter, she probably taught you some basic skills. And I got your back anyways, so we will probably end up alright until I can take you somewhere safe, so I can supply you with steady money from my work until you settle down. Then we can focus on the other things, such as your family life." Oleg spoke all this rather calmly as he walked along, his new steel sword at hand. "And they probably will come around. I suggest keeping that sword of yours ready."

“Curses it seems like that mercenary just won’t quit”, spoke a man onto a nearby hill.
“None the less we don’t have time to waste on one target”, spoke another man who stood beside him. “Send in the boys they know what to do. “ With those words the first man pulled out a tome and shot a bolt of magic into the air.
Family life thought Oichi as Oleg finished speaking. She did not like being alone. She was uses to her mother always being by her side. She was lonely, but now she had her father. Thought the fact that Oleg was her father was taking some time to sink in. Though she could start to see were her mother’s stories came from. When she was in danger he appeared and protected her. Just like in her mother’s tales. Oleg would appear out of nowhere and with perfect timing. “Right Father”, spoke Oichi as a smile crossed her face.
Suddenly and without warning an arrow flew through the air and nearly hit Oleg. The shot was off by an inch. Out from nearby bushes came two fighters, a myrmidon, and an archer. The archer was situated towards the back of the group making it hard to reach him without striking at the others.

Oleg instantly drew his sword as the arrow almost hit him, resulting in him taking a combat pose. "Mrngh. Go to the town. Get to the bar, tell that you were attacked and I am here keeping them off. GO. NOW!" Oleg grunted, leaping fowards as he lunged forwards, his steel sword slicing trough the chest of one fighter too slow as he was still preparing as he then positioned himself and the corpse so that he had a convenient meatshield for himself against the archer.

Oh no thought Oichi as she saw the men gather. It was Mark’s Town all over again. She remembered the mob, the marshal, and all the blood. There was so much blood that day. Now here her father, who she just found, was standing between her and these men. It was like her mother all over again. “Noo”, shouted Oichi as she sent her horse into a gallop. She did not want to run. She did not want to loss anyone. Not again not after her mother.
The galloping horse rushed forward and slammed into the other fighter. The man had expected her to flee after Oleg words. He did not see her charging forward and thus did not react properly to the horse.

Oleg blinked as Oichi rammed into the other fighter, keeping his meatshield close to him as he yelled to her. "Get the archer, I'll handle this bastard!" Oleg closed in on the myrmidon, grunting as he then kicked his meatshield towards the myrmidon, only for him to slice the now dead fighter in half, stopping the corpse from ramming into him. Oleg drew his sword, motioning for the Myrmidon to come at him.

“Right”, shouted Oichi as she charged forward on her horse. Her mother told her how to attack form a steed. In fact she was the one who taught her how to ride. Her skills with the blade was not good enough for her to actually use it while riding, but she did know how to use a lance.
The archer let loss another arrow. This one however was aimed at Oichi horse. He did not want to hit the maiden directly as wounds would drop her price, but her horse did not matter. If he could spook the steed he might be able to get her off with little damage, however he did not know Bern horses. The mighty steed simply took the arrow like it was nothing. From the top of the horse she stabbed forward with her spear. The tip cut through the man’s left shoulder, but did not hit anything critical.

Oleg and the myrmidon were circling each other, like two hungry animals fighting for food. Both made fake lunges towards each other, sometimes even causing a faint scratch to each other. Finally the myrmidon leaped towards Oleg, Oleg answering with a parry, proceeding to the stab forwards, slightly damaging the myrmidon's left side, as the two then returned to circling each other. The myrmidon leaped once more, this time his blade sinking to Oleg's shoulder as he roared in pain, swinging his blade wildly as it sunk to the neck of the myrmidon, his head rolling onto the ground as Oleg kicked the body down, holding his shoulder as he panted, losing blood rapidly.

Oichi was now close to the archer and would not give him any space. Though she was inexperience as a fighter she knew that the bow could not be used up close. The archer however showed her how inexperience she was. He switched from using his bow to using his mace and took a swing at the maiden’s horse. Luckily for her however her steed was a warhorse and immediately pulled back. One quick kick to the chest put the archer on his butt.
“Alright”, shouted Oichi as she turned the horse around and stabbed the down man in the chest.

Oleg continued to hold his shoulder, looking around as he saw no other opponents, slumping down to his knees, breathing heavily. Was this the end? To die from bloodloss because he defended his daughter? Heh.. It was.. A fine way... Oleg then slumped down, breathing heavily with wheezing coughs as he looked around, his face twisted with pain.

“Father”, shouted Oichi as she rushed over to Oleg. She opened her bag and pulled out a vulnerary and applied it to his wound. “You can’t die father”, shouted Oichi as tears started to flow from her eyes. Once again the image of her mother flashed into her mind. She did not want her father to share the same fate. Not after she just found him.

Oleg let out a wheezing cough, blood flowing from his shoulder to his eyes due to his rather awkward positioning. He slowly whispered something unhearable, his wound healed by the vulnerary, the loss of blood stopping. He was still weak, and he was at deaths door due to all the loss of blood. He coughed and slowly looked to Oichi, trying his best to do a faint, reassuring smile even if he was almost dead.
