The novice sat down and stared at the sky. It had been a while since he first had left home. Being kicked out in order to mediate a bad harvest was not a good feeling. Life was so simple back then. He woke tended to the field and went to sleep. His life was never in danger. He did not have to see people die, nor did he have to end peoples lives himself. Thought in truth the latter gets easier over time. He was not sure if that was a good thing or not.

Speaking of Morals Orcleous was letting his deteriorate. Back on the farm he would never hurt anybody without good reason. Even then he would never go so far as to kill a person. Now he was looking to kill people for gold. He was never this heartless before. Then again he did steal from corpses. The novice looked down at his crimson armor and began to think back to the day he first received it. If there was ever a point in his life that he started to change then that would be the day.

Opportunity and desperation brought him and his crimson armor together. However his morals were the price. Orcleous really started to slip when he entered into that battle. The rebles had forced him to join their forces as a way to pay for his grave robbery. In truth it was more like battlefield robbery, but it did not matter. Orcleous was through into a mission to strike at an Illian town. Fortunately for his unite they arrived late, but they ended up getting into a bloody battle with the Illian retaliation squad. There Orcleous gained his freedom and took control of his own life again. However he was forever scared by the sight of death and blood. The raiders made their escape and Orcleous made his as well. It was in that moment he meet a man he would never forget.

"One only truly lives when another tries to take that life from him. It is in that moment he understands what life truly is." That was the line the man told him before the two parted ways. That line stuck with him as he traveled across the plains.

In Lycia he meet a woman that changed his life. He meet the Emerald Wraith. Seeing her mesmerized him. He saw the way she moved. The way she fought. It was like living art and Orcleous could not have enough of it. He wanted to be like her. He wanted to move like her. He almost wanted to be her. She moved him down the path he walked today. She was the reason he began to strive to kill for money. Before hand he killed as a necessity, but now he wanted to do it professionally. He wanted to become an assassin.

After that day Orc began to jump from things and try to sneak around. He covered his crimson armor with a black cloak and attempted to be stealthy as he possibly could. It was during this time he returned to Bern, and in Bern he meet Yashi. It was a chance meeting ,and he only learned later that she was the brother of the man that gave him that advice. Her and two others moved to investigate a village. There he meet the undead. The reached walking corpses that moved on their own. Their moans would chill your blood and their claws would rip out your heart. Orc nearly died several times in that city. If it was not for the man named Victor he would have been dead. Word from the great vine is that victor also perished. It seemed he passed from this world at the same time as Yashi's brother. The world seemed keen on removing those Orcleous considered his mentors.

None the less salvation did not come at the blade of victor, or the light magic of Yashi. It came at the hands of a dragon, but at the time Orcleous had no idea of what had happened. The dragon had led them to an old fortress when Yashi caught onto his act. The maiden tried to flee, but the dragon transformed and began to destroy everything. Luckily Victor appeared and saved the day. He slashed the great beast with his blade and drew its attention away. Once again Victor was his hero.

After that Orcleous separated from the group and joined up with a group of assassins known as the Crimson Blades. There he began to learn the trade he sought so vigorously. Under their guidance he learned the basics of stealth and information collection. He then picked up another mentor. A man named Seedle. Seedle was like an older brother to Orcleous and when Seedle was assigned to an assassination mission he requested that Orcleous come along as an observer. As a initiate he joined a assassination mission to take down an Etrurian noble, and at that moment everything went wrong. Orcleous was smacked out a window and was plunged into a river. He survived that only to see yet another of his mentors be cut down. seedle meet his end at the tip of a crimson blade dagger.

Death seemed like it finally found the young novice. However another Crowley stepped in and aided him once more in his time of need. Alice appeared and with a flash of her blade ended the assassins after his head. The swordmaster skill was amazing, but not awe inspiring. He did not have the same reaction he did when he first saw Jya, but then again he was no longer the same person. Orcleous was a new man. He had seen the world and witness the consequences of his actions. Foolishly jumping into stuff almost cost him his life, and still cost him his safety. He was not sure when the Crimson Blades would come for him next time, but he knew they would come. Still he escaped with his life, but Bern was off limits for a while. Orcleous returned to the plains were he sought to sharpen his bade, and now he began to look back onto his life and the crazy year that had passed since he first left home.

"Sow what is next", spoke the boy as he stared into the clouds. He began to pool all the information he had learned over his time and began to assess his situation. He looked back up into the clouds and noticed the sun shinning directly down upon him. It was noon and he had places to go.

"Well lets see what the day brings", spoke Orcleous as he left his title of Novice behind on the hill. He was no longer the boy that left home. He was now a mercenary.
