Name: Sieglinde
Nickname: Glind
Class: Squire
Hair Color: Bright pink
Eye Color: Hazel
Age: 17
Born in: Bern
Appearance: With a slim figure and standing in at 5'5", Sieglinde isn't the most intimidating of people, although she often attempts to at least come off as tough. Her "cute pink hair" is cut short, sheered relatively close to her head, and only a bit of her bangs peek out from underneath the confines of the leather cap she wears. Her face is shockingly unmarred by any sorts of scars or birth marks, leaving her with a face that, while it's somewhat pretty, is more… Unremarkable than anything else. Her nose is of average size, not too hooked or smashed into her face, and her hazel eyes tend to have a fairly neutral look to them. The pink-haired gal's expression tends to be neutral as well, with her mouth not pulled naturally into either a slight smile or frown.
Her body is slightly tanned from being outdoors for the majority of her life - not that Glind is showing much of her body off, primarily because there's no practical reason to do so. She likes to wear rather basic clothing - the outfit she "defaults" to consists of a simple dark green, long-sleeved shirt with a leather jerkin over that, leather pants, and leather boots. Certainly not a fancy getup, by any means, but (as of writing) it is all the clothing she owns.
Personality: Since she has left home, Sieglinde has slowly been growing back into the rather fierce nature she possessed before her younger brother was born, although she is perhaps more polite and more often quiet than she was before the age of 10. The pink-haired girl tends to talk negatively, pointing out the worst possible outcomes of any situation - which, combined with her generally neutral expression, makes her come off as very serious. Glind is a hard worker to boot - she might talk a lot while going about any tasks assigned to her or that she takes upon herself, she will see them to completion. And as for that fierce nature she has? While she is typically calm, Sieglinde can quickly become very aggressive, especially in the face of anything that angers her, and she won't return back to her neutral self until she takes care of whatever it was that angered her in the first place.
Story: Sieglinde's story begins in a little, remote town in easternmost Bern, isolated almost entirely from the rest of the world and boasting a massive thirty-person population. Her parents were married young, and had their first child within the first year of their marriage - Sieglinde's older brother, Seamus. It wasn't until the following year that the young couple brought the loud, angry baby Seiglinde into the world.
That anger quickly cooled as the little pink-haired Glind grew up. Even though she was a fierce little girl up until age 9, making a name for herself as the little town's youngest troublemaker, the birth of her younger brother, Sol, really seemed to fascinate Sieglinde, and she began spending more time around her baby brother than she did outdoors. When she found out that her loud voice caused her brother to cry, Sieglinde soon quieted, and learned to be gentle by picking her little brother up and holding him.
Sieglinde, when she wasn't spending time with her little brother, was always outdoors, running and playing little made-up games and going perhaps a little too far away from the village limits, where she spent a little too much time climbing trees in the old forest and rolling in the layers of dead leaves and cleaning herself in a small stream so she wouldn't be yelled at when she returned home once more. It was in this forest that Sieglinde first encountered someone new - a lightly armored young woman sitting atop a beautiful gray dappled horse. The woman offered the young Sieglinde a ride back to the village, where she wound up getting scolded for going off too far to play, but Sieglinde didn't even care. For the first time, she was aware of that there was a much larger world out there - sure, she knew there was plenty of land beyond the forest, but before now, she hadn't even stopped to consider that there may have been people living anywhere but in the village!
And so Sieglinde swore to herself that, one day, she would leave the village. That armored woman had even presented to her how she would do it - all the little girl had to do was acquire a horse, and the whole wide world would be open to her! But, at only age 10 and her darling baby brother just barely a year old, Sieglinde allowed herself to forget that for the time being, and was content to merely play and dream for a few years longer.
Her mundane existence ended a few weeks after Sieglinde turned 17 - a group of riders, similarly armored to the woman who had come seven years before, alongside a small wagon pulled by two horses built bigger than the ones the riders rode. The riders reminded Sieglinde of her dreams of exploring the vast world, and so, taking a risk, she stole into their little camp, on the outskirts of the village, and… Well, stole one of their horses, and even one of those sticks with the pointy metal on the end, which had been left leaning against the log the horse she had taken had been tied to. Somehow, this seemed like a perfectly reasonable plan to the teen, and so she rode out into the night, with a stolen horse and weapon, and decided to see the world.
The riders easily overtook her the next day, and were actually surprisingly kind about the whole ordeal. As it turned out, the horse she had stolen had belonged to a rider who had decided to return to the village for good - it had been his place of birth, and he no longer wished to ride with this group. His horse did not truly belong to him, either, and so Sieglinde was allowed to continue riding with them - with the only stipulation being that Glind would do the majority of the menial tasks the other riders didn't want to do. Since these tasks weren't too different than the ones Sieglinde had grown up doing in a small village, the offer was practically a no-brainer, and better than the alternative of being forced to walk back home. The other riders gave her tips on how to ride better, and even how to use the lance she had taken, in the unlikely event that she would be forced to use it. So, due to a little misguided enthusiasm and the assistance of a group of surprisingly pleasant cavaliers, Sieglinde was given her chance to live out her dream.
Of course, everything went to crap shortly after that. The wagon and the other riders were attacked one night, though by what, Sieglinde couldn't have been sure (though she assumed they were bandits of some sort). She showed her bravery and loyalty that night by jumping into the saddle of her horse, a calm brown horse she had been informed was named Mire, and high-tailing it out of camp, leaving her companions to whatever fate they might meet. Sieglinde rode for several weeks, alone, with a fast-dwindling supply of food and water - although food is the main issue, as she never learned how to hunt with any sort of tool, let alone a lance. Her dream was the last thing on her mind as she trudged along, hoping that today wouldn't be the day she died, when she finally stumbled upon the outskirts of what appeared to be a huge village, with more people than she ever thought lived in this world.
