Duma was about as shocked as Vincent was. He looked at Vincent's sword on the ground a few feet away and then at his own sword. His usual calm eyes were wide in disbelief. I.. Did I finally accomplish it? The swordmaster had prepared himself for just the one blow and the hidden blow. But he did not think he could accomplish a third in such a short amount of time. He suddenly realized how heavy his body felt and there was a pain in his arm. He did well to hide his fatigue.
He smiled softly and shook Vincent's hand.
"I cannot explain it myself. Not.. fully. For years I have tried to master the art of my skills. I knew I launched for one.. of the hidden swings. I did not expect two. Vincent for that I thank you. Perhaps once I fully perfect the art I can pass it down to you." He let go of his hand.
"It's strange. I haven't had such a worthy opponent in so long. I almost forgot what the thrill felt like. You have remarkable talent. Your style is rough but effective. If I had not braced myself for the knife you would have hindered my movements and been the victor. And one day in the future I feel, that you will surpass me." He quietly sheathed his sword. Play it cool.
"Those swords of yours.. They are still sealed. I know one day you will release their latent powers." He grinned.
"I cannot wait to see what secrets they hold and to test my mettle against the combined force of your future growth and their strength. Ha! Perhaps I might have a new sword of my own next time. And some more tricks." He walked over and collected Vincent's fallen swords and returned it to him. He was still reeling a bit from the fight. Ha. I clearly have much more to learn.
"I wish you luck on the rest of your journey."
After Vincent had said his peace, the swordsman returned to the road to gather his things. He waved goodbye to the young mercenary before heading out on his way.
