Open Plains. [Brina]

The gentle caress of a steady gale rolled across the oceanic like landscape to the green plains land. Hills rose and dipped, and with the steady curvature and current of wind brushing aside blades of grass and causing them to move in steady currents it looked similar to depictions of the ocean waves breaking upon themselves. A beautiful sight. Gavin slowly moved through the landscape, midday heat given a pleasant basking warmth to the otherwise slightly chilled winds. It amazed him how he could travel just a couple of days worth and find such a difference between the forests of Bern and rolling plains in Sacae. Perhaps there was more to his grandfather's encouraging self-enlightening journey concept than he'd given credit.
His Olive green coat danced at the edges and tail through the winds combing embrace while he kept his hood down so he could enjoy the climate easier; messy blonde hair tussling about in the breeze. Bright gaze drifting about the landscape before drifting upwards. A loud cry pierced the air as a fairly large male hawk fly above. Astor, he had a feeling, was enjoying Sacae's open plains as much as he was. Rabbits and field mice scattered the land out in the open. A buffet for the goshawk who was taking full advantage of it. He chuckled a bit, smiling as the hawk swept in for another dive; snatching up a rabbit unfortunate enough to be lingering idly. It was swift. The hawk dove at remarkable speeds with it's talons ensnaring the head and back of the rabbit before leading it to a decisive and swift painless death by crushing it's talons inwards. What was a majestic flying creature became a perched sitting one. A sea of green now housed a large brown and white amorphous mass rising out of it that occasionally looked up with it's head darting around as it ingested the rabbit's body in small swift gorging.
At one point as Gavin approached, as the hawk's lunch happened to be almost directly in his path he had been walking, the hawk paused to look up at the young hunter with a single eye. It's beak stained red and rabbit's internal bits dangling from it's beak while it ate. Lovely. Gavin chuckled a bit before looking to the hawk and then back at his path, still walking knowing full well Astor would catch up to him before long. "No really, don't let me err..stop you from enjoying such a fine feast. When your ready, you catch up." Clearly unphased by this, as Astor couldn't understand Gavin, the hawk continued to dip it's beak and rip at parts of it's kill.
Minutes later, Gavin was sitting atop a particularly large hill simply enjoying the breeze and sun as he looked down at a large portion of Sacae visible in the distance. How great it must have been, to grow up here. He could only really imagine. A piercing cry drew his attention as he tilted his head back, only to feel buffeting light impacts hit the side of his cheek. Astor took it upon his own accord to perch on Gavin's shoulder, which luckily had his leather pauldrons upon as the Hawk's talons would have torn into his shoulders otherwise. A small bit of red still dangling from the Goshawks mouth as it finished it's meal with the pair just..enjoying the day. It was a unique thing, a free life. The day was his own after all..but what to do..?
