Name:
Emelda Avery
Class:
Archer
Age:
23
Born in:
Bulgur, Sacae
Appearance:
Emelda would have blonde hair that went halfway down her spine, and then she had more hair going down to her chest in the front of her torso. Her eyes were a seemingly pale grey, not showing much pigmentation in her iris other than the color mentioned.
She would a tunic on her torso, which would be a scarlet red. Emelda also wore matching pants, however their color was blush red instead of scarlet. Her boots would be a rosewood pink, covering up the very bottom of her pants.
A red cloak would always be seen on Emelda. It was a normal red cloak that she liked to call 'Despair' due to the fact she usually takes comfort in it like a baby does with their blanket. She also believes the color red in general could agitate people if stared at enough.
Personality:
Emelda was a 'unique' character. She would have multiple personality disorder, making her have two personalities.
The personality she most commonly had was her 'insane' personality. In this personality, Emelda didn't seem to care for anything unless gold was involved. She was a wacky character during this, being morbid and having dark humor without a care in the world. She can, however, be humane while being insane. However, this only comes from people, or things, she likes and enjoys in her own twisted ways. Her other personality wasn't just her being insane, however. She was able to think outside the box more than if she was more simple minded. The only issue was her doing those plans without going off to do another, as she had many thoughts come and go.
Emelda's second personality was rare and nearly never comes out. Her insane side was taking over, so she was close to being 'naturally' cured from multiple personality disorder. When this 'calmer' side did come out, however, she seemed to be guilty about herself for knowing what her insane side does. This side would try to avoid people, not wanting to be near them in case her personality switches again. It can be noted Emelda also tells people to stay away from her while she is like this, especially those she managed to befriend in either personality. Her calm personality is the only thing that keeps Emelda from doing suicidal tasks for her level. If it goes away completely while she isn't at the top of the food chain, Emelda would most likely take on a fight that gets her killed.
Emelda Avery was basically a mercenary for hire due to her obsession with gold. She took jobs to join other peoples' 'groups' for a temporary amount of time unless she chose to stay with them longer. Emelda even sells random objects and weapons she'd find to other travelers, sometimes being too 'convincing' with a bow aimed towards them.
Story:
Emelda's backstory is a mystery to many people. Little is known about her, as she chooses to be cliche and not tell anyone of her past, that she could remember.
In Emelda's past, she had a memory she does not remember. It wasn't from amnesia, however. Instead, it was from her brain shutting it out of her completely. She never spoke of this to anyone due to her no longer knowing of it, however this memory was the abuse she got from others, physical and mental abuse, as a child, which she used to be a fragile and shy girl. This abuse went on for two years only, both while she was eight and nine. Now, due to this forgotten memory, Emelda has gained a multiple personality disorder due to childhood trauma. Her 'insanity' side was basically used for her to think of herself as a different person, and not the weak girl that was beaten up practically daily by bullies who claimed to be training to become bandits, which they eventually did, and are still alive to this day. If someone were to ask them, they would go on telling you about the Bandit War inspiring them.
Her whole past wasn't of failure and another cliche sob story, however. Her worst, most despair-inducing moment was only two years of her life. Before, and for a few more years afterwards, Emelda was a cheery and happy girl, always enjoying herself with family and friends in many recreational activities, including hunting in the woods for meat and sport.
The only memory Emelda had relating to this now forever dead memory was of her training herself for potential future trauma, which she didn't want to experience again. This training was with a bow and a dagger, however she focused with a bow and used the small blade for a last resort. She chose the bow in order to keep potential threats away from her, and the dagger explained itself due to her training to be an archer. It was her only protection if someone came too close to her. She also trained herself into being able to take on another identity. This was not part of her split personality, rather a way for her to hide herself from other people, not being known of her true identity's presence.
As she got a hang of her bow, Emelda would begin to travel away from home, feeling herself become independent with her new attitude. Her parents and siblings waved her off, still clueless to her internal mind of thoughts.
Emelda would begin to take mercenary contracts to distract herself. Of course, she started from the very bottom with her sanity she still had. She gradually raised the difficulties of the quests she had to go on as years went on, even when her sanity was all but a distant memory.
Eventually, Emelda took on a contract issued by an anonymous and shady man that was supposed to be way over her limit. The contract was to take care of a heavily guarded noble by murdering him. Using her learned abilities with a bow and her cloak, she managed to assassinate the noble in the public by firing an arrow into his skull. As a reward, Emelda used her dagger to cut off an unlucky bandit's left arm, who was also trying to take the contract for himself. She keeps the arm under her cloak, still having it to the present day as a trophy of her efforts. She didn't go back to a contract of this difficulty for years however, due to her calmer and sane side holding her back. She didn't want to get herself into harm's way too badly, which her insane personality would most likely do without her calm side stopping her from jumping into suicidal tasks.
Present day, Emelda had picked up on selling objects to others for more profits. She does still, however, take up contracts. Emelda also began to expand out to being hired to join other groups for a mission they were on. She made the prices to purchase her for hire higher than average, but not to the point no one could or would hire her.
