Yea, so some of us have to wait for their special edition to ship the chance to pick up the game, or even free time to actually play it. Or be like LOleg in Europe with no release date in sight. Please us this thread to talk about the game, use the spoiler button when posting spoilers.
And for the love of Athos, do not post spoilers in the Cbox. I'll find a way to punch you through the Cbox if you do.

From what I've been told, the story makes the most sense if you play through Birthright, then Conquest, then Revelation. I'll prolly take a crack at a few Conquest chapters first, then beat Birthright so I'll be ready for a full Conquest campaign.

I'm gonna start with Conquest and once I have the money to pick up the DLC campaigns, I'll probably end up doing three concurrent playthroughs.

Can anybody enlighten me on how the online play works once you get to that point? Maybe we can have a WotW tournament depending on how it works once everyone gets the game and has time to build their teams.

Sources say that multiplayer is 5 vs. 5 death battle on 1 of 7 maps. Teams can be created at any point of time in a playthrough...Honestly, this sounds pretty amazing. I'd imagine that Revelations would be the "competitive" route to go for a multiplayer team, since it has the greatest amount of recruitable units. Friend list battles are a thing, so a WotW tournament would be totally feasible. =D Source

For the curious, here's a list of what all the Boon/Bane stat modifiers mean when you're creating a character.

PSA: You can combine consumable items to refresh their durability. For example, a heal staff with 18 uses combined with heal staff with 1 use will make a single heal staff with 19 uses.
Pretty nifty! No more selling something for 5 gold.

I just learned this.
Visiting other peoples My Castles via the internet is a simple and easy way to get supplies.
For example I'm playing Hoshido. If I visit a castle from a guy who is playing conquest. I can buy weapons/staffs/food stuffs that is more or less exclusive to Nohr.
If anything it's worth browsing around the recommended castles to get free stuff.

I had to play around with the amiibo stuff with my roommate. You scan them in, talk to them and receive an item for your castle. Do that 3 times(once between each battle per character), 4th time you will battle them(Lucina's crew was bout lvl 15 I think) and upon victory they join you.
They're NOT like the spot pass FE characters in awakening, they have their own models. Their classes are close to what it is in their own games if not the actual class.

I get why they did it, obviously to fit the theme, but I don't really care for all the weapon/class name changes.

I'm not a big fan of how all the weapon icons have been standardized for their weapon class. Not even the prf weapons get special icons. It's a small change, but definitely a noticeable one, and it makes differentiating between them all just a tad harder.

Agreed on the icon changes, but I really appreciate the changes to the weapon system. Bows are actually useful now that they're buffed, and I like how all weapons play into the weapon triangle system.
I was pleasantly surprised by how much I liked the removal of weapon durability. There is less micromanagement involved, which is great because you're already doing a TON of that every turn, at least in Conquest. One less thing to worry about.
The new system of stronger weapons giving the unit using it buffs and debuffs is remniscient of weapon weight and constitution. I love that it reintroduces the cost/benefit feel that pre-Awakening titles had regarding weapons while avoiding the issue of singling out low-con units.
EDIT: Every variation of the Naginata has 1 less attack than its lance counterpart. They have no redeeming qualities to offset this, and this does not occur with axes/clubs or swords/katanas. What the heck?
