You forgot to mention that you need to keep a back up of every stage in case you screw up, or you have to start over again.

For recolors I usely just look at what color I want and how many options for it I have, then zoom in on the pic and find any colors that are the same then make them a different. It also depends on what one is light and what one is dark.

Looks good, but here's some criticism:
1. Robe is TOO bright. 2. There's no shading in the hair(try to use different types of brown). 3. Eyes are bright as well. Try darkening them a bit too.

Thanks for the tips, but I think I'll keep the eyes... they're supposed to be bright, showing her child-like innocence. I'll take your advice on the hair and robe, though. EDIT: man, Lucius has good hair for a guy. I rather liked this combination.

I think you didn't get the "shading" part.
Check Alan's picture. If you look closely, you'll see that he used many different browns in it, giving it a "shadow" effect. That's what I told you to do. Both with the hair, and the robe.

Yea I should of been more clear on how I do it. I count each color and look for other colors that are simluar that I'm going to be useing.
EDIT:
Know what since I'm bored and have some time to kill I'll try helping out some. Brown hair and blue eyes, seems simple to me.

What the hell are you using? Even PAINT has a pencil tool. Anyway...PhotoShop simply kicks the crap out of every other image-editing program. ;D

Photostudio, the closest way I can get to a pencil is takeing the paintbrush and makeing it really really tiny, size 1 brush but it's going to be hard -.- Good job arcsoft... at sucking donkey balls
Gah I hate the person who had the idea to have the blond almost blind in with the skin tone when you zoom in.

I'm getting tired, and hate this program so I'm calling it quits, sorry. But I got a little bit of shadeing done, if you save it then zoom in you'll see some shadeing.
