Never underestimate the connections you make huh.. hmm. Mila was a little lost in thought at that comment. She really should send a few letters out to some forgotten colleagues back in Eturia. She didn't know what had become of them since she left the country. And the few times she returned they weren't exactly the first things on her mind.
"Ah, you mean the good sir who gave me the letter initially. Yes he did seem like the body guard sort." She seemed to nod in agreement.
"So the man died and then became a reanimated corpse. Hmm.. was the infection the cause of it or was it something done after death? There are so many questions." She wished she was there to see a man turn into an undead. Well, that's not true. She HAD seen that before but the way Mr.Bar made it sound.. well it wasn't like her experience. She was used to seeing men turn into ghouls in the middle of the battle. And they had to promptly be put down in battle with little to no chance to fully research them.
"Ah.. well my research.. my involvement in it. Well the story behind it is a bit depressing now that I think on it. I became a scholar in Eturia. One day my colleagues were tasked to investigate a ruin in Nabata." Her gaze shifted to the empty mug of tea. Her face a bit more serious then it was a moment ago.
"I won't.. go into to many details. But.. there was an accident and I survived. My physical recovery was fine.. but the mental recovery was not." She still wasn't fully recovered in the mental health department. She had a persistent fear of thunder, darkness, and confined spaces. The nightmares of the event like to show up occasionally.
"I had lost a large chunk of my drive and passion to research things. Osita fell and then the monsters started to show up. I think.. it was because they were such a new phenomenon.. it woke up my drive to do things. And well.. here I am." She glanced back up at her guest.
"Sorry I didn't mean for that to get awkward." She grabbed and nibbled on a biscuit.
"So there are other's out there who are researchers? I will admit I haven't met too many others who specialize in monsters."
