Aura took in all the details about the local area with wide eyed attentiveness. He had not realized just where he was and to top it off there are much larger and grander cities. It was like he knew that, it was an obvious fact right? But he did not remember that all the same, it was odd.
"A trade town huh?" Well that was an interesting thing, and shoot, that was lucky for him! Sure, that Hildebrand character was not deterred from her crazy acts of maniacal violence that may or may not have been induced by him performing some sort of ritualistic brainwashing corruption on her, but with all those guards around he could theoretically be safe here. Or, there is the strong possibility even stronger and crazier individuals would come for him here. Yeah, it was best to keep on keeping on out of this place after all.
"So you, rigorously, tested a scientific theory on the theory of getting lost in the city?" Whaaaaaaat? He looked rightly confused, impressed, and skeptical. How would that work? "So, did you like-" He did not have time to ask his questions about this supposed experiment, like, how would she ensure she got lost if she actively knew where she was? How would one quantify statistic data? Woah, why was his mind getting all scientific all of a sudden? Did he know stuff about science and just not know it yet? He could be an alchemist! Full Aura Alchemist! He began to imagine all the things he could make with magic science. The more he did the more it all began to feel all too familiar and frightening.
When they got to the inn she asked the question, the big question. The question he did his best to avoid. "Uh well uh, you see..." He rubbed the back of his neck and avoided eye contact. "N-no, no I do not. I have no gold actually." He had long used what he had getting away from Etruria.
