While attempts to save the embattled town from a horde of Baels eventually failed, overrun by several gigantic monsters and a a new variant of explosive acidic Baels, the efforts of the group resulted in the safe evacuation of almost all civilians and nearly half of its defenders escaped alive. A significant blow was dealt to commerce and communication in a large area in Tuscana, but enough of the monsters were put down that the seemingly unstoppable tide was at least temporarily blunted, presumably to replace their losses.
The following characters were involved enough in the thread to earn at least 1 fame and some recognition from the people of Tuscana:
Others either failed to qualify in activity or left the site and thus do not qualify.
On a personal level, I would like to thank Vincent for running the first successful quest on the site and making it a great story for everyone involved. Just because we didn't win doesn't mean it was a waste of time, and in the future there will definitely be quests related to the results of this one!
The following characters were involved enough in the thread to earn at least 1 fame and some recognition from the people of Tuscana:
- Vincent: While his efforts were not enough to save the doomed town, the leadership and combat prowess of the young warrior have gained him some recognition in the embattled march. Some naysayers may deride his failure, but those whose lives he saved credit him for the fact there was a battle at all, and soldiers across the march are much more likely to look on him favorably now. His daring assault directly into the tide left a particular impression on those who saw it.
- Mila: the emerald mage's mastery of earth and fire magics left a profound impression on survivors of the siege, and the breadth of her knowledge of monsters and mastery of the healing arts made their impression as well. Her impressive aid in fortification will lead many towns to listen to her if she offers similar suggestion or aid. Some whisper that she knew just a little too much about those monsters, but by and large all involved in the siege remember her fondly due to her stalwart defense and aid to all.
- Althea: the dour dark mage's monstrous magics left some awed and others more suspicious of her arrival timed with the Baels. Those she helped escape the town think more fondly of her, but while few would accuse her directly, others believe that she may have had a hand in orchestrating the tragedy. The enormous torrent of dark magic she unleashed near the end of the fight is the topic of some discussion, little of it good, but those who took part in the siege remember her efforts in aiding the evacuation and healing others.
