In FE the blazing sword hector as well as various other people say well met when they first meet people. I was wondering why they don't just greet people by saying hello or hi like people actually do? Even if it is a long time ago i still doubt people would actually say that. I dont know why i'm so bugged by that and I should probably not care but I've not liked that ever since I heard it and I wanted people to be aware of my hatred for that phrase.

Well met was actually used quite a bit back some hundred years ago, so it's not actually surprising it's used within the game.

Matis and Kenshin are correct. Phrases such as that were in fact used in older time periods. It's to give the game a more immersing feeling then if Eliwood walked up to someone and said"Yo, what up?"

It was also more commonly used among nobles and royalty. Not that others didn't say it, but it was less common. I read a lot.
