Alphonse nodded, took his staff in his right hand, and slid it through his hand until he was grasping the edge. He then swung it back, slightly bending his knees, and then swinging it forward and letting it go, spinning rapidly in the air. It landed with a thunk near the edge of the water only a few meters from Shadow's belongings. Alphonse looked over to Shadow,"Ready when you are."

Shadow's arms were so pale in the sunlight. It was weird to not have his cloak on. He felt... naked in a way. He always traveled with the cloak on, now, he was exposed. This made him feel awkward. So when he replied to Alphonse, he avoided eye contact by looking over to the opposite bank, and saying, "Yeah..."
He then neared the edge. It seemed deep enough to dive. He wasn't going to plunge himself into the water, as he was going to go forward, not down. And this he did. He jumped far enough in the water, when the water engulfed his body. The cold was a shock. He wanted to hug himself to get warm. Shadow fought the feeling, and continued to swim. Brining up one arm, then the other, pushing the water behind him. Swimming was fairly easy for him. It wasn't too long before he made it to shore, shivering. Now, he stood there, waiting for Alphonse to get to his side of the river.
OoC: Did you want to know the style of swimming, or can we just let that one go?

OoC: We can just let that go, it doesn't really matter.
BiC: Alphonse looked over at Shadow, laughing inside. Alphonse had never seen him so exposed and vulnerable; shaking and shivering without his cloak on; which is usually the opposite of his dark and intimidating look. Alphonse smirked and stretched his arms, letting pop a few times. He backed up a little, then ran forward and dived downward into the water. Alphonse went quite deep into the water , almost touching bottom, then started swimming forward, being a bit limited by his robe. When he reached the other side of the river he swam back up, and when reached the surface He stood up in the water and walked onto the sure kneeling onto the ground and panting.
Alphonse flipped his hair back, stood up and took his robe off. He walked over to to his staff that was planted into the ground and hanged his robe on it. He looked over at Shadow, let out a breath, and smiled.

Shadow didn't mind being cold. In truth, he'd rather be cold than hot. Any time, any day. But this was humiliating. Here he stood, the once frightening Shadow, now a shaking, pale, and rather thin person. Sure, he liked swimming. But swimming with someone was different for him. Perhaps all those years in the wild really changed him.
He met Alphonse's smile with an icy stare. He pulled away from their meet, and grabbed his bundle on the ground. Instead of just opening it, he placed it away from the river, on the ground. He looked up a bit to say to Alphonse, "We need to get dry clothes on, or we'll get sick for sure." Shadow would wait for a response before he continued with his business.

When Shadow gave Alphonse that cold stare, he laughed inside even more than the last, trying not to let it show on his face. With Shadow the way he looked, and then you look on his face, he couldn't help but find it all funny. Alphonse nodded at the shaman's last comment, he took off his boots and placed them near his staff, he then walked over about 5 meters away from the shore and laid down in the sun, with his legs crossed and his hands behind his head with nothing but his pants and shirt on.

Shadow was fuming at Alphonse. He could tell when someone was saying something behind his back, but he never was laughed at before. This got him to turn a bit red in the cheeks. When he started feeling the blood rising, he turned away, going back to his own business.
Shadow unfolded his cloak. Inside, he had a smaller, navy blue bag in the center. He always kept some extra clothes with him. and the bag was barely noticeable under his cloak. He took the bag, and undid the strap that kept it closed. Inside, his extra clothes. He grabbed the clothes out, and started walking behind a few bushes. He just said, "Just so you know, I happen to like my privacy while changing..." Shadow didn't say it too loudly, just so Alphonse could hear him.

Alphonse heard Shadows voice from above him on the bank; all he could make out was "privacy". Alphonse let out a "Mm hm" and stayed in his crossed-legged position. He enjoyed feeling the sun again, especially after the cold swim. He could hear Shadow rustling in the bushes above him, but tried to not take any notice to it.

Shadow, while changing, tried to keep himself quiet. And he did, for most of the time. Then he tripped trying to put his dry pants on. As he regained his composure from falling, he looked around for his shirt. Shadow looked, and realized that he must have left it back in the bag. He was just going to walk over there, when Shadow stopped. He looked down at his chest. That long, terrible scar was still there. And Shadow knew that if Alphonse saw it, he would ask about it.
One quiet step at a time, Shadow carefully snuck over to his bag. He didn't want Alphonse to notice him at all. He finally was right over his bag, as he reached down slowly. He felt the linen shirt, and pulled it out. Shadow turned away from Alphonse, and quickly pulled the dark gray shirt over his head, hiding his scar.
Now, Shadow could finally put his cloak back on. He let the sides of the cloak lightly flap as he twirled the cloak around him, once more presuming to be a scary, dark shaman. Shadow then looked over to Alphonse. He seemed to be enjoying himself.

Alphonse suddenly woke from his day dreaming when he heard Shadow making some stumbling noises behind him. He looked up and behind him, seeing Shadow searching for something, and since he didn't have his shirt on, he assumed he was looking for his dry shirt. Alphonse froze for a second, starring at Shadow with shock, and then went back to his resting position when he saw the Shaman look his way.
He heard as Shadow slowly and quietly walked past him and rummage through his bag for only a second. Alphonse looked up to see Shadow putting his shirt and then cloak on, twirling around. Alphonse would of laughed at this, if he hadn't seen Shadow's scar that ran across his chest. Alphonse laid his head back down, dodging from Shadow seeing him looking at at him, and to think about what he had seen...

Shadow stared at Alphonse for a bit. He then looked back at his clothes. Shadow wasn’t about to traveling with stinking, wet clothes. So, he started laying them out on the ground, in the sunlight. Hopefully, when they were going to continue traveling, they would be dry.
When he got done laying out his clothes, he sat down next to them. Once more, he looked over at Alphonse. He still was where he was. Instead of tending to his clothes, Shadow took out a book. The book was about Roland and the great heroes of the past. The book had stories of their victories from fighting the dragons, centuries ago. Shadow read it plenty of times. Instead of reading it intently, he listened. Shadow listened to the surroundings, like the birds, the river, and the wind whistling through the trees. He felt at peace, almost serene.

Alphonse opened one of his eyes and looked around, trying to find Shadow. Once he couldn't find him, he opened both eyes and looked back up the embankment to see Shadow sitting in the grass, reading a book. He sighed and lifted himself up into a siting position with his arms wrapped around his legs. He starred into the water, thinking about the scar running across Shadow's chest; wondering how he got, where it came from. He knew that he shouldn't ask about, he was definitely curious about people when he met them, but Alphonse knew when to draw the line.
Alphonse stood up and stretched, making a slight groaning sound. He looked over at Shadow again,"We should get going," Alphonse said in a calm, lazy voice. Alphonse climbed up the bank and walked past Shadow, looking down at him. He gave Shadow a slight smile and continued on walking. He looked up at the sun, which was just about straight above him.
Alphonse took a large breath in and closed his eyes, his thoughts of the last few days running through his head. He looked back at Shadow, who had now stood up, put his book away, and was now looking at him. He gave Shadow another smile and looked up into the sky seeing smoke in the distance. I wonder if we'll meet anyone else.
