Aleth had spent the previous night working her butt off helping with distribution and the like. Thanks to her constant exercise as a messenger it wasn’t anything she can’t handle. The lack of sleep was common for her as well, she didn’t make much as a mercenary seeing as she was more interested in helping out than actual fighting in the front lines. She was prepared now, she was in an army, and people are going to suffer on both sides. If things get to worst possible scenario she needed to survive the battle and get out. Her life was more important than money, even her ‘family’, quote on quote, ‘FAMILY’ agreed their own lives were more important.
--------------------------------------
Aleth woke up early in the morning as was her habit had allowed. The previous day’s exhaustion had dragged onto the next as she struggled to get up. After equipping all her necessary armor, she was ready to head out. Her armor had been cast aside right next to her, she was taught to keep everything reachable in a moment’s notice. If an attack, no matter how likely occurred one must be prepared. She had learned the hard way, one of the mercenary from her parent’s band constantly tried to attack her late at night ever since she learned to fight. War had brought out the worst of her memories.
Though she could have left and scanned the scenario in light she waited. It wasn’t until Lyar began yelling at Mavick did she decide to enter the scene. Her body was no longer drooped, she kept a straight face, and everything looked professional. Get a job, keep it. That was another rule she recalled. Taking a deep breath, she walked towards Richter.
“Sir, what are your orders?” she asked her voice study and ready to serve. Being in the army brought out all her habits and experience from her childhood, but it was better since she wasn’t with her ‘family’.

Mavick adjusted his robes a second time. "Well now, see how easy that was?" he asked. "Allright, fine. I'll teach you the basics so you don't go blowing yourself up." he agreed. "But don't get clingy. I don't like clingy."

Wow that actually worked!! And clingy? That won't be a problem.
"So what happens now?" he asked Mavick.

Richter felt like interjecting himself into his soldiers' conversation. He didn't want the two shamans to get ahead of themselves. There was still stuff to be done. "What happens now is that we make sure we're ready to leave," he said in an official tone, his hands behind his back. "I appreciate your desire to better yourself, Morgoth, but we're leaving for Sacae tomorrow, so I want to make sure everyone is ready to leave when it's time to go. I'd hate to hold up the commanding officer because I couldn't get my soldiers together." Richter nodded to his subordinates. "Once that's done, you two can go train in your magic, however you do that." Richter couldn't say he was all that familiar with magic; how it worked or how you used it. All he knew was how much destruction it could cause. THAT's what he was interested in.
The High Officer pivoted, turning to Aleth. "Those are your orders as well, but if my assumption is correct, you don't really have anything to pack up, do you?" He shrugged. "Since that's true, I really don't have anything for you to do. You're free until tomorrow morning. We're all meeting up with High Commander Ariston's forces." Nothing to do himself, Richter just saluted Aleth and wandered off.

Lyar gave Mavick a happy pat on the head before lumbering off after Richter. One out of site however he straightened his posture and cracked his knuckles," Commander Abend, what do you need of me? I may not be 'officially' in your service," in reference to yesterdays antics," But as my brother is charged under your authority, It's necessary that I do what I can to assist you as well. I could do some heavy lifting or something..." It felt great to have a break from his usual: 'hey look at me, durr' demeanor as he stretched some more in his rather haphazard armor...his old armor was similar to the uniforms of these men, couldn't he just wear that instead...? No matter.

The pink-haired High Officer shrugged. "No, there's really nothing to be done at the moment," he said casually, "and if there was, I'm not sure I could have someone in such a ridiculous outfit doing it." Richter looked Lyar up and down, eying the shoddily put together uniform. "In fact, not only do you look ridiculous, you don't look, in the slightest bit, comfortable. Would you like me to have a uniform tailored for you?"

"That is quite alright Commander Abend. I already went to get the request, but...well, I guess Etrurians don't really reach my height, so they had to put this together...I'd rather so wear my own armor but...battle tactics and what all...." he shrugged, then rolled his right arm in discomfort from the two different sized shoulder plates," Besides we hardly have enough to time to get one tailored for me, seeing as we will be heading off tommorow." he paused for a moment, before deciding to shoot the breeze with Richter instead of just talking about military related issues,
"So tell me commander, how did you find the book I gave you? I'd have read it myself but..." it was obvious he could not read or write.

"I enjoyed it," replied Richter. It was nice reading something from Rayl. It told Richter that the cavalier was still in good condition. "It brought back memories, to say the least." The High Officer paused, glancing around. He wanted to make sure they were alone. "You do know what's in that book, right? That just possessing that book is an act of Etrurian sedition of the highest degree?"

Lyar nodded his head. He may not have been able to read, but he heard things, and Mavick had read it to him," Yes Commander Abend, however I cannot be tried for treason as I am not even part of you company, so to speak...however, you..." Lyar knew something, as a smile spread across his dirty yet oddly innocent face, "I recognized your name in there when my brother read the book to me, hence why I let you borrow it on the assumption it was, in fact, you who were mentioned in it...why would you be serving the man you had sought to kill?" it was the type of situation that made no sense in Lyar's mind, but then again not much did...while he was smarter than he let on, in the end he was still just slightly smarter than a simpleton...most the bigger words he used often times he didn't know.

"But of course, sir." Mavick replied. Trusting Morgoth could hold his anticipation, the shaman went about collecting all his books and maps and what-not. As he looked through his pack, he noticed one book was missing. "Lyar..." he muttered, rolling his eyes, his mouth almost curving into a smile. Stepping out of the tent, he approached his brother just as the giant posed the question, and nearly paled. "Lyar." he called, calm for once. "There are some questions that should not be asked at certain times." Approaching the giant, he held out his hand. "Also, I'll need that book back, dear brother."

"I'm going to have to agree with your brother," Richter replied. "Such a topic isn't really something that can be safely discussed here, or ever." It wasn't really the time or the place for him to be spreading his treasonous guts all over the floor. He wasn't sure if he'd even be able to succeed having nobody know his true intentions. If that information got out, Richter'd be dead in a minute. "I'd also appreciate if you wouldn't spread that..." the High Officer paused, "...sensitive...bit of knowledge. It could have dire consequences for the both of us."
Richter turned to Mavick. "Keep that book safe, and hidden. I wouldn't want our superiors to be getting their hands on a document like that."

"OKIE DOKIE!" Simultaneously as Mavick arrived Lyar switched back to dumb mode and charged on off in a random direction, soldiers eying him for a second, shaking their heads and going back to their work. Once Lyar had returned to he and his brother's tent, he began to throw off the makeshift armor given to him, before donning his original set. It was more appealing and comfortable than the one made for him, plus it looked enough like the armor of these people for it to pass by, and thus exited the tent in comfort before learning against a large rock. Ha ha ha, another successful getaway without ruining his secret.

"The way I see it, sir..." Mavick began, tucking the book away, "I'm just a wayward tactitian in the employment of a crusading commander. If my employer should be found out for treason, as his tactitian, I could be held as an accomplice. Therefor, I feel it is in my best interest to do what my employer is paying me to do, and leave his personal life alone." The little shaman gave him an all-knowing smirk. "Now, by your leave...." Inclining his head, the little mage wandered off to find his brother. Someone had to pack up the tent, and it wouldn't be him.

Morgoth stood by Mavicks tent, waiting for him to return. All he had to was take his tent down, we had gotten used to in his early days of his life. I'm wearing my cloak, my notes are hidden, and my tome is in my pocket. He stood there, wondering what he was going to learn and how he could get Mavick to teach him more.

"High Officer?" Clair was finally getting used to calling her commander by his Etrurian rank, rather than commander. "Should I accompany you on your trip to the center of the camp?" They, at one point had been on the way to the treasury, but, as he said, they did have plenty of time before the next day.
She would need to pack her own things at some point, and she still had to check on Corona. Maybe she'd even take him out for a quick flight.
