"Sir Rayl seems like a very nice man. I wouldn't think that he would deny two young ladies like ourselves into his service," Karina smiled, "if you think about it, he should. I mean, he's a noble, and from the size of his house, I'd say a rather high-ranking one. He must need guards. Not only cavaliers and knights to guard his estate, but people like you and I, those without roots who can travel wherever he needs us to." her tone fluttered a but, toeing the line of concerned and anxious. She hoped that Rayl would take them in. Where else would they go?
"So this is a charming little town. If you need information, well, the best place to look first is a tavern," she added, pointing over to the town Inn. Inns almost always had taverns in them...

Chelsea nodded. "A Tavern does seem like a good place to start." As she led the way over to it, she wondered if they would actually find anything useful. Once inside, she looked around. It looked fairly nice and there were a great number of people inside. She was torn at this. She wanted information, but she was also nervous about being around this many people.
Nervous, she approached the first few people and questioned them. The more people she asked, the more confidence she began to gain. Unfortunately, no one seemed to know anything and more than once she was met with harsh words due to her homeland. Walking swiftly back to Karina, she said "Come on, let's go. There's nothing here..."

Seeing the child wave, she gave a small wave back at the child, accompanied by a pleasing smile. She turned away, offering a small shrug to the mother, knowing how she had acted, and was trying to be supportive of having her around. Sitting still in the chair, she finished her food off, and sat back, a hand resting over her stomach, while cleaning her lips off with a napkin. Her eyes wandered over the room while Rayl and her sat in silence. The people here seemed to be not as bothered by her since she was here now and would not leave despite their earlier actions.
When the waiter came by to see about dessert, she shook her head to both Rayl and th man, sitting back up once more. She had pretended not to see the man winking at her, but still, it made her laugh a bit. Humans were coy in their own way, not that she was much different.
"No, thank you..I'm quite full as is, I don't think I can eat anymore.."
She then turned to look at Rayl again and motioned with her hand.
"How about you? You having any dessert?"

"Hardly. Thank you." he then proceeded to pay for their meals, before sliding Saffra's chair from the table. He still had many things to do before heading out tomorrow. Bidding adieu to the owner, he was given a carrot, just a little something for Elibe, which he then proceeded to feed to the large horse.
let's see...first I have to...and then...followed by...oh I better not forget to do those...I'd also best do...while I'm at it... his mind ran through a long list of things he'd have to do, the patrols he'd have ride, until a guard came up to him, handing him a piece of paper, which he began to read:
"Sir Rayl,
In coming of tomorrow's mission, you and your men will be exempt of your duties for today." well then, that just wiped out everything he needed to do," Saffra, before I head to the ranch, is there anything you'd wish to do while we are in town?"

Saffra gracefully slid out from the chair, and followed Rayl outside. She rubbed her shoulders a little, looking back and forth down the fairly empty street. She smiled a little as Elibe took to eating the carrot, and found it kind of cute.
"Anything left to do? No...I didn't have anything scheduled at all."
Rolling her shoulders, she allowed her wings to form back once more, now that there was open space for them to breathe and not really disrupt too much of the locals. If Rayl decided to ride Elibe, well, she wanted to walk, but when she would get out of the city, she would go off and do her own thing, as a dragon, of course. her body ached to return to the form she was associated with.

Rayl eyed Saffra's wings for a moment before looking back up to her eyes," Well Lady Saffra, I'm sure you are acking to fly, just...make sure to go all the way outside the city before...going all the way...just in case." he smiled as he got up and onto the back of his friend (Elibe not Saffra <_<)," Well if you will excuse me, despite this leave of duties form, I still have some things I'll be doing before returning to the ranch." With this he began to ride off slowly, passing a small tavern on the way...back when he wasn't who he is now, that was one of his regular spots for...well, you know: drinking.

Saffra lightly nodded, and as Rayl began to leave, she did too, in a different direction. It didn't take her long to get out of the city, and she was relatively left alone other than people idly looking at her, and then the wings, then back to her again. Most had already heard of the notice that she'd be part of the citizenry now, so, that was a welcomed blessing.
There was nothing outside the city, absolutely nothing...it was a wonderful feeling, being away from all those snide looks and mumbling voices. breathing a content sigh, her body shifted back to that of a dragon, and walked a little off the road through the lush vegetation, ducking under low hanging (Low for this now tall height) branches. Within the brush, she simply laid down in the shade, curled head to tail, and decided to take a small nap. Really...no one would bother her as she was, would they?

Karina frowned when she heard the comment about Chelsea's heritage. When the archer headed out of the tavern, she asked, "why did those people talk to you like that?" She had never heard about people talking down to a Sacaen. She wondered if it was prevalent in the south. The only people she had contact with before setting out from Ilia were intellectuals, those who had no reason to talk badly about nomads.
"I'm sorry you couldn't find any answers..." she added in, putting her hand on Chelsea's shoulder. She hoped the archer would not give up hope. There were taverns to be searched in ever town, and people seemed to notice when Sacaens were around.

Chelsea gave Karina a weak smile. "A lot of the people here look down on us Sacaens simply because we're nomads. They find us... primitive or something. My parents used to tell me about them." She signed sadly. "As for answers... I won't give up. I'll find them somewhere..."
She patted Karina's hand and gave her another smile. It was nice to have someone to talk to for once. "Is there anywhere else you want to go? Or do you wanna just head back to the ranch?"

The sun was setting as Gabriel finished his training with Lady Lucy. "I...seriously can't take anymore" he said, breathing heavily, hands resting on his knees.
"It's okay, Gabriel. You did fine. At least you can make fireballs practically without fail now, and your aim has improved somewhat"
It was true. He had only failed at making fireballs three times in the entire evening past 4 PM, and he had only missed the target a bit over half a dozen times while he was running around, launching fireballs at the static dummy.
"If you don't mind I will head back to Rayl's ranch. We will set off tomorrow, right?" "That's right. In the early morning." "Then I'll see you tomorrow. Good night"
It took him nearly half an hour to get to the ranch by foot, and surprisingly, he was the first to do so. At least, it seemed that way. Rayl's dog, Dakota, had come to try and scare whoever it was, but upon smelling Gabriel, he barked and started running around the mage-to-be. Gabriel went to the kitchen, with nothing else to do, waiting for the others to get back. Time to juggle some fireballs.

Slowly riding back into the ranch, he was greeted by Dakota and Fang, as he rode through the pasture to the barn, before he dismounted Elibe and began the process of removing his friend's armor. Once this was done, he let Elibe back into the large coral with the other animals out and about, before going inside the estate. After wandering in it for a bit, he soon found his way to the kitchen, the apparently deemed gathering place, where Gabriel sat juggling fireballs, with more skill then he had been earlier,
"It is good to see you have improved Sir Gabriel, however, I'd appreciate it if you were to do that outdoors more than anything...It is hardly fun to be stuck inside a blazing inferno of a house...trust me on this one." with this, he took a seat, resting his aching bones for the time being, before he would go out, finish some chores at the home, tell his friends of his sudden departure and of their small chores while he was gone, then he'd go to bed," You excited about this trip, my young friend? We'll be heading dangerously close to Etruria mind you, once we get to Laus..."

Karina sighed and took in the world around her. "Let's just head back to the manor. Perhaps Sir Rayl will be done with his business, and we will have a chance to talk with everyone." she smiled. She could tell Chelsae was troubled by what happened at the tavern, but she didn't know what to say. She figured the only thing that would help her was to find her father.

Chelsea gave a little nod and started back towards the ranch. She couldn't get the words of the tavern-goers out of her head. She had known that they could be mean, but she had no idea how hurtful their words really could be. How could they say such things? They didn't even know her! What had her people ever done to them? As she thought of their harsh words, she feet carried her slowly back to the ranch with Karina. She even forget Karina was there for a bit and felt bad about it. She turned to her friend and gave her a quick hug. "Thanks."

Gabriel nodded, as he threw the fireballs up into the air and snapped his fingers, vanishing them into thin nothingness.
"Fine, fine. I won't do it indoors anymore" he said, reluctantly, and then replied to Rayl's comment about getting close to Etruria. "I don't mind. It's been over a month and a half since I left Delfia. Chances are that my father stopped actively looking for me. Knowing him, he probably thinks I was eaten by wolves or something."
"So, what is it exactly we are going to do? Relay a message to the kings and marquesses of all Lycian cities so that they join us to defend ourselves against Etruria? I've seen Kraft at work. He sell these...'soulnotes', I think he called them. The people of Etruria buy them for gold, in exchange for 'salvation'. All they probably do is get oneself out of Etruria's black list, though. If they believe in him and Elimine so much, we're not fighting against people. We are fighting against fanatics."

OOC: Time for an awesome 500th post.
"I hardly doubt I will need all the men in my division, however I will bring then along, and send a recruit back to Pherae with the other Marquess after we meet when them personally. It would be better if we were to speak at their front door." he laid the plan out before Gabriel.
"I too am well aware of what that man does. I have spent much of the past five years watching his moves, and learning all I could form refugees such as yourself but still, these 'soulnotes'...buying papers to guarantee one's place in heaven? I can hardly see the morals of such acts...he calls himself a religious leader, spreading peace..." Rayl would have gone on grumbling about The Prophet, and he very well would have too, if Dakota hadn't snapped him back into reality, barking.
With this he got up, and knelt down to the side of the table, before looking under it, and opened a small latch on the bottom, before pulling out a glistening blue gem, setting it down on the table," This was given to me upon knighthood...been saving it for a rainy day...may be useful later..."
OOC: Alright, not too epic, sue me...least I role played getting my Blue Gem -holds hands out expectantly-
