[Continued from Even Saints Can Die by the Sword ] From any side of the battlefield, it looked as though the two young people were merely galloping around casually. The fair-haired girl at the head of the horse did not seem to be in any rush at all. Once the pony reached the edge of the battlefield, though, it took off in a mad gallop towards the fort. The girl lifted up a staff and made it glow, while still spurning her horse forward. An arrow whizzed past her, nearly hitting the man riding with her, but thankfully the other arrows that were shot missed widely. Once the horse reached the fort's gate, the girl began to bang on it loudly with her staff. "Let us in! Hurry! Before they catch up!" she cried. The girl's voice was desperate, and she was clearly in distress. "Please! Commander Abend is going to kill us! Let us in! We are not enemies!" she begged. "For the love of Elimine, open the gate!"

Shouting was heard from the walls and the men looked down at the newcomers. They were very suspicious, but on the other hand there were only two of them. An officer barked orders and suddenly one of the two gates creaked open. Behind that gate was another gate, but it remained close. The soldiers gestured at the couple to come in.
It was tense situation. Many men were watching the couple enter their fort. Since they knew Rayl and the traitor were close, they were very jumpy. Most of them feared an attack. They said that that traitor Abend was chasing them? Men were frantically running towards their posts, readying themselves for battle. After the couple entered through the first gate, it was closed.
A sergeant looked at the lady and the young man. He shrugged. "Open the other gate! We'll frisk them inside! We've got little or no time before the rebels arrive!" The second gate was opened in a hurry as well, before being closed behind the couple. An Assistant Commander walked towards the young travellers.
"This way, the Commander needs to see you. Leave your horses here."

OoC: Aw, I wanted to name the thread: "Somebody poisoned the water hole."
Wow, what a big fort, Tuatara thought. Must be lots of places to hide here. I don't think our plans going well, I don't think they're supposed to think they're under attack. Once things are explained I bet we'll be in trouble. Tuatara thought as he and Evayl where whisked farther into the fort, almost shoved. So when am I supposed to be poisoning the water? And how to get myself in jail....
"Uh, nice castle," Tuatara said."Bet you all get nice food and sleep in beds instead of tents. Must be paradise here." Well, lets see if there's friends among enemies, he thought. Now how to do my job and SHINY! Tuatara watched as they passed nice wall ornament type stuff. We must be getting closer.

The soldiers walked through yet another gate before entering the restricted area of the fort. Only officers and the Commanders most trusted men were allowed in there. They entered a building that was sobre, yet had a nice touch to it. Symbols of the Prophet, Saint Elimine, the Inquisitional Army and the Church were everywhere. They climbed a few floors before stopping in front of a door.
"Now, sir, ma'am, we'll have to search y-" The officer was about to say before he was cut off by a voice from inside.
"Nevermind! Let them in, you fool! I have plenty of guards here." The thief and the troubadour were ushered in and heard the dry thud of a the door closing behind them. Inside the faces of various guards and officers who were hunched over a table glared at them. Behind the table was Ariston, who seemed to be studying a map.
"Well, now, where will this attack be coming from? Don't waste time, for Saint Elimine's sake! The traitors may be here any minute now!" He was fully dressed for battle, as were his officers.

OOC: Maybe that's what we should name the escape thread!
IC:
Evayl's face and body remained completely tense. Fortunately, that was appropriate for the situation. "They sent a few soldiers after us. Now that we're in here I'm sure they've retreated." she said. "I apologize for getting your soldiers into defensive positions. My guardian and I were very anxious to get inside." Evayl gave Tuatara a sideways glance and then looked back at the man at the head of the table. "I'm Evangeline, and this is Tuatara. I was a prisoner of Rayl before Tuatara released me. We can repay you for the confusion, though, sir. We have some information on the status of the enemy army, and some general hints. Also, I am a Cleric of Saint Elimine. I can heal your soldiers." Evayl held her staff forward for the man to see. "Please, let us join you."

Ariston at first became very angry with the duo, starting to grunt halfway their explanation, but his anger seemed to flow away when she mentioned that they had information about the status of the enemy army. AND that the girl was a cleric of Saint Elimine.
"Oh, Cleric, please do join us." He smiled mildly, and then gestured her to come closer. "Now, see this map? I want you to point were exactly they are. How many men do they have? How many wounded? Is the dragon still in a condition to fight? Come on, tell me everything. You too, young man." He spoke in a friendly, yet stern tone. He was a man that was really concentrated, fixated on reaching his goals. Then he suddenly looked back up from the map.
"But how did you get in Sacae, if I may ask?"

Evayl sat down next to the man and examined the map. She slowly traced her finger over to where she knew the group was. There really wasn't much point in lying; finding out the truth wouldn't be very hard, and she'd just get into a lot of trouble. "As for how many men they have...I never counted. But I do know that they have quite a few wounded. The rest are fatigued, which is why we were able to escape without being caught. But they may be recovered by now...As for the dragon, they made me heal him some time ago. I haven't seen him since then, though."
After all of those questions, the man still had one more. How did she arrive in Sacae? "I am searching for my mother. I heard that she had come to Sacae to help the people here, but thus far I have yet to find her." Evayl said. A lie, but a decently told one, she believed.

Tuatara decided to answer the last question first. "I was on my way to see family in Bulgar." Man, if that guy's smile isn't creepy then whose is? he thought. "I'm not sure 'bout the rest, was just there long enough ta rescue Evayl here."
Tuatara tried to be discreet as he looked around the room. It's gotta be here somewhere, he thought. Although hiding it here would be to obvious. Who knows. Now let's go over the plan. Poison water, get in trouble, get in jail, escape, get Marcus, what a nice office, get dragonstone, open gate, kick butt, show book to Aeros. Well, that's about it.

Ariston looked kind of surprised.
"You were chased? And that man saved you? Was it close to the fort? I was informed that you were in a hurry to get inside. Pray, please try again. You must have a vague clue were these men are. It is important, clerc. But you know that."
Ariston stared at the two. It was in his character to expect something fishy, but he could not sense anything. It seemed they were telling the truth. But he still needed their information. Outside, the men loosened up a bit. No attack was coming. Yet.

Evayl smiled. "I might have been unclear. Tuatara released me from the tent they were keeping me in, and we stole a horse. They chased us out of the camp on the other side of the battlefield. I believe they gave up after a short time, since we were so far ahead and it was dangerous territory. If I had to give you a place where they are, there's a chance they might be lingering in the battlefield, possibly searching for our bodies, as there would be reason to believe you would've shot us down. Which you almost did, but that's neither here nor there." Evayl brushed her hair over her shoulder and looked back at the map. "That's where the battlefield is, correct? Then yes, the camp and the people who followed us are on the other side." she said, pointing to the spot.

Ariston merely grunted at the words. He'll have to take her word for it. He'll send scouts the next day. It was too late and too dangerous out there to risk sending troops now. He smiled at the two newcomers.
"Very good, then." He looked at a priest to his right.
"This man will escort you to the church grounds. You will be given a bed and a hot meal in one of our barracks there. You might want to catch some sleep after such an awful day. But don't worry, we'll catch those heretics, sooner or laiter. May the Saint bless you."
Ariston then leaned back over the map and started discussing the new facts. They were in for a long night, they'll have to form a perfect plan to destroy those rebels. Evayl and Tutuara were escorted to the Church area. Even though it was called like that, it was still heavily guarded and soldiers were patrolling everywhere. But it was getting dark and the soldiers started helping themselves with torches. The patrols became less frequent because the walls were heavily guarded, and noone expected an attack from the inside.
Evayl and Tutuara were given two rooms, next to each other, inside one of the barracks. The rest of the rooms were filled with sleeping guards and priests. In the hallway, a soldier was standing guard. Or rather, he was sleeping on duty. What did they have to fear? Nothing. Right?

Tuatara looked around his room. Operation save the day, commence he thought to himself as he cracked the door to check the guard. He's asleep!
Tuatara crept out and knocked on Evayl's door. "Pst, Evayl!" he said. The guard stirred and Tuatara flung himself against the wall. The guard looked around and resumed sleeping. That was close. I need a torch.
OoC: So convenient. What would be more convenient is that after we poison the water Marcus has to kill again. *hint hint*

Evayl sat on the bed that had been provided for her. It was comfortable, rather more than she'd expected. Had they intentionally given her one more comfortable than usual? No, don't be paranoid. Still. It made Evayl uncomfortable that she had not seen any women during her time here. This wasn't a good sign.
Evayl heard a knock on her door and Tuatara's voice. She immediately bolted up and opened her door, as quietly as she could. She reached out and felt around, and felt Tuatara's sleeve. She grabbed it and pulled him in. "We need to get started." she whispered. Evayl sat back down and crossed her legs. "But I don't know where to begin. We have to find the water source. You'll have to do that. I stick out like a sore thumb here, but you can blend in." she said. Evayl walked over to where her leather sack was and pulled out an empty bottle. "I think I have an idea. Go outside and ask the guard where the water is. Tell him that I am thirsty. Do you have the poison?" she asked.

"Yep, the poison's in Bob," he said. "Alright, I'll go alone. Don't wait for me when it's time to open the gates." And with that said, Tuatara took the bottles and walked out.
The guards still asleep! Tuatara thought. "Uh, Evayl needs something to drink," he said, nudging the guard.
"Huh, what? Oh," the guard said with confusion. " 'Ere's a map or sum tin'," he said and tossed a paper at Tut before nodding off. Well, here goes nothing Tuatara thought as he began to follow the map.
OoC: Would like a Clair-ification of what the water place looks like. Please. ;D

Tuatara finally found the well in the center of a clearing in the center of the fortess. How to get the poison in.... he thought. Oh, I know! Tuatara was in a side passage where no one could see him. He laid his satchuel on the ground and began looking for the poison. He took a tourch from the walk after having trouble seeing, and moved farther from the tunnel opening. First he pulled out an ax, and then several other item's before saying,"Why is the world always against me?!" The very second he finished saying it, it started to pour(Helm's deep!). "You stay out of this!" he said looking up at the celing. Suddenly, a book caught fire from being to close to the torch. "No, that the book for Aeros!" Tuatara exclaimed as he stomped it out. Soon the book was ingulfed and he reached his hand in and came out with a sliver of paper as the book crumpled into ash. Tuatara slumped to the floor and knocked over his satchuel, the poison falling out. Stupid poison, he thought. Because of you Aeros can't get his memory back. He looked at the paper and saw what it said. It contained two words, one in english(or what ever language), and another in a strange one. The english said: Aeros. Tuatara smiled. Well, better get a move on.Tuatara took the poison and stuck it in his pocket, and held one in this hand, and held the bottle in his other hand. Well, the rain 'll make good cover.OoC:I'm a laughin Kraft
