OoC: Hope you don't mind me stepping into this? Xavier'll be on the mounted bandit's side. Also, I'd like it if perhaps the conflict could end with Xavier joining the gang?
IC: Xavier was daydreaming again, he was probably in the deserts of Nabata, riding on his horse, enjoying the heat of the sun, looking at the endless amounts of sand dunes around him. He imagined what it would be like to be to just dive into the sand and he did, feeling the heat of the sand on his skin.........
......... Except, it wasn't the heat of the sand but the heat from the fire that a mage had conjured against the group of robbers that he had tagged along with. Well, so much for running away from his corrupt father, he had actually joined a group of bandits, highwaymen, no less. And the burns from the flames hurt, a lot.
"What the hell are you waiting for? Heal us, dammit!", came the voice of the leader of this pack, a voice that he knew all too well.
Slowly, still slightly dreamy, Xavier lifted up his staff and tapped into the healing properties of the gem at the top. "Heal!", he said aloud, and a soothing aura came from the tip, slowly reversing the effects of the burns on the group.
"S-sorry", Xavier said, looking genuinely apologetic.

OOC: Hello Xavier, mind if Sabin attacks you? As Sabin turned and hacked into the struggling bandit's head, he noticed a purple-haired person sitting on a horse still. He watched as some of the injured bandits came up to this guy and healed themselves up. Sabin knew what he head to do. If he was going to constantly fight rejuvenated bandits, he was not going to put up with it. He hoped that healer said his prayers. As he ran towards the mounted healer, he heard an explosion to his right and saw many people lying on the ground, burnt and unconcious. Boy oh boy, he definetly would not want to mess with Aaron now. All of a sudden he heard a grunt as another bandit rammed him from the left, sending Sabin plummeting to the ground. Using quick reflezxes, he gave a low kick to the bandit, right at the crotch. Yelping in pain, the bandit dropped his weapon, which alomst fell flat on Sabin's face, but thankfully he moved out of the way just in time, and then struck the bandit's head with a powerful blow from the axe. He then called out to the healer. "Hey you, purple-haired freak! If you want to live, you better run while you can, or I'm going to cut your head into two!" He had a fierce look in his eyes.

OoC: Not really, as long as Xavier gets to live
IC: "Hey you, purple-haired freak! If you want to live, you better run while you can, or I'm going to cut your head into two!", came a gruff-sounding voice.
At first glance, or was it sound, Xavier could tell that this man was probably not so much different from the company that he was with. Were these people bandits as well? Probably not, as only this man in the group seemed to be like one. What a weird bunch! Worst still, his hair wasn't purple! Purple was... a colour that Xavier hated. Of all the colours to mix his hair colour with, this guy had to do it to purple.
"My hair's not purple, dammit! Its dark blue, do you see? Dark blue!", Xavier's mouth blurted before he even knew it. Oh why couldn't he control his mouth just this once?
"Hey, umm, easy with that weapon there, I'm just a harmless boy here, kay?"

"You may be harmless in terms of combat boy, but you've been helping the wrong people. What kind of healer heals bandits and highwaymen, people who rob people of money and possibly their life!??" he asked, a little too rudely.
" If you value your life, you may run away from the battle field. You have a horse, don't you? I'll make sure these bandits don't catch up to you. If you're planning to stay here, well, luck be with you, kid, I hope you don't get killed by anyone here." he said as he saw another bandit coming at him with a sword. This was just too easy. He stood firm, tightened his grip and then swung his axe hard. BAM! The bandit was knocked back and fell on his knees, dropping his sword. There was a deep gash on his chest.

The steed reared up and tried it's best to buck Grayson off. It had finally calmed down, but it had also realized that the person on top of it wasn't it's usual rider. The archer hung on for dear life as the horse hopped and rocked back and forth, doing whatever it could to rid itself of this stranger. Grayson's arms and legs began to ache and he knew that he would be walking bow legged for a week, if he survived.
Grayson was being tossed around so harshly that his hair, normally resilient to the worst of calamities, began to fall apart, tufts of it falling to the side and beginning to resemble some strange seafaring captain's hat.
"Come on, you bloody beast! StooOOoooOOOOOooOOOoooop!" Grayson shouted at the animal. It had seemed that the horse heard his cry as it suddenly halted. The steed reached around with it's neck and grabbed Grayson's cloak with it's teeth. Grayson was flung to the ground staring agape at what just happened. Then he saw it. He hadn't noticed before, but this horse looked familiar.
"Mr. Cobblepot?" the best seemed to nod in response. Grayson hopped back up and wrapped his arms around the horse's neck, "Well I never! We thought you were gone forever!" Grayson's eyes brimmed with tears as he embraced his favorite steed from his adolescence. Years ago, the Pintel family stables were ransacked and their most prized horses were stolen. The most magnificent, a white stallion by the name of Dandgo (Though his name was Mr. Cobblepot if you ever asked Grayson), was among the horses taken. Mr. Cobblepot was Grayson's one friend in those days. The two would ride for hours in the family's ranch that sat next to the manor. Back then, he could have been a champion at obstacle contests, but Grayson's riding spirit was broken for a long time after his faithful steed was taken from him.
"This is some sort of twist of fate! How I should happen to find you again! And you remember me, don't you? I can tell!" Mr. Cobblepot looked at Grayson, the look in it's eyes told the archer that his old friend did remember him. Grayson's watery eyes dried up and a smirk grew on his face, "Well, then. Isn't this amusing?"
Grayson, with some help from Mr. Cobblepot, climbed back on his horse and straightened up his hair.
"Alright, Mr. Cobblepot. Let's get us some bandits!" The horse neighed in approval and burst forward.

"How different are healers and bandits? Bandits openly extort money, healers swipe money from donations behind backs... There's no difference, is there?", Xavier spoke, his voice trailing away slightly as tears welled up in his eyes over the memories of his recent arguments then escape that had just made its way into his mind.
And then, in an even softer voice, "There's no place I can go back to anymore..."

"What the heck are you saying, kid? Healers are there to help people in need, not swipe money off like what you just said now! Since when did children like you learn about stuff like corruption?" Sabin asked, now puzzled.
As Sabin saw Xavier's watery eyes, he sighed. "Look kid, if you want to live, and you don't want to run away, you better stick with me. Heal me when you can, ok? I'm gonna guard you from these scum." he said as his axe and sword of another bandit clashed each other.
Sabin grunted as he struggled to over power the bandit. All he could manage o do was push him back, and then he kicked him in the shin, finally kicking him to the side.
He called out for Grayson. "OI, GRAYSON, I COULD USE A LITTLE HELP HERE!" he screamed.

"Look kid, if you want to live, and you don't want to run away, you better stick with me. Heal me when you can, ok? I'm gonna guard you from these scum."
Xavier looked up, wiping the tears that had welled up in his eyes before it had flowed down. It wouldn't look good to cry now, would it? Xavier adjusted his position, brushed a few creases off of his robe and said, "Well, at least you guys seem to be a better lot than them.", while at the same time trying to act as if he was not just about to cry, although, he carefully kept his head lowered in case he teared up again.
Xavier patted his horse's back, still with his head lowered, and got the horse to move slightly behind the rough guy wearing the blue shirt. Well, at least these guys might not treat him as badly as those bandits.
"I'll just leave the fighting to you." Xavier said, keeping the man between him and any of the oncoming bandits, especially trying to keep himself away from the lady boss of that group. She was a fierce lady and might probably kill him for what he had just done.

OoC: Yeah yeah... This is a self glorifying post. Lol Aaron promotion He can have the whole explanation and speech and stuff deal later.
BiC:
Aaron didn't know what to think of Grayson's mad charge off the road. The horse had gotten spooked, which was exactly the response which Aaron had been wanting... ...But he hadn't planned on Grayson being atop one. Ah well, there was no time for worrying about that now.
Aaron noticed the healer in the instant after the lad did his work. That wouldn't do, but it looked like Sabin had dedicated himself to that issue. Other than that, the bandits had thrown themselves at the travelers, and been beaten back so soundly that they'd lost whatever cohesion they'd had in the moments before. It was almost unrealistic how easily these hardened thugs were being repelled. In fact, it looked like nothing so much as a turkey shoot to the mage. The enemies were scattered.
"What are you doing!?" Aaron heard the voice of the woman who'd rode up, leading one of the bands. She was shouting at the blue-haired healer, who seemed to have switched sides. "So the moment things get scary, you leave? Go kill him!
Apparently, more riders had shown up somewhere in the fray of things. Things were supposed to get better with time.... Not worse. Well, he'd just have to fix that.
"Perhaps, you ought to think about leaving, as well!" The woman turned as the mage's voice cut through the din of the battlefield. It almost had a musical quality about it, but if it was music, then it was not the kind which brings joy to those who hear it. Aaron was gripping his Elfire tome in one hand. In the other, he held a solid red orb which seemed to glow as if from unfathomable depths.
"Kill the mage first!"
So much for common sense.... was what the mage thought to himself. Outloud, he gave bandits the benefit of a bit of help.
"Let me give you a hand in the right direction. Away is that way."
The green-haired mage swiped his hand through the air, leaving behind a glowing blue strip where it passed. Power. Power in a visual form. That's what he'd just accessed. And that's what he forced into the magically created orb still in his hand. As he released the orb, it shot toward the horsemen, and exploded viciously.
The force from the fire bomb was enough to cause quite a bit of wind turbulance. Aaron even felt his ears pop when it went off. Hopefully, Grayson wouldn't be sent on another joyride. The bandits Aaron had hit certainly wouldn't.
I'd say they're done... ... Well done, even.. Even if it was about other human beings, Aaron couldn't help but thinking that last bit as he waited for the dust to clear.

Grayson decided to answer Sabin's plea and jumped Mr. Cobblepot into the fray. A well timed hoof the back of one of Sabin's assailant's heads sent him earthbound. Grayson wheeled his steed around and kept one of his legs extended, catching another in the neck. The swordsman he managed to clothes line with his leg was able to catch themselves, unfortunately, and slashed at Grayson, ripping his slacks as he sped away. Grayson's heart jumped at his near injury. Had he not been on Mr. Cobblepot, he would have surely been wounded or even lost a leg.
The pompadoured hunter steered his steed back around and flattened himself on Mr. Cobblepot's back as he sped toward Sabin again, holding out an arm.
"Sabin! Get on!" he shouted as he galloped forward.

Sabin saw Grayson speeding forward, stretching his hand out after knocking out the bandit magnificently with just a kick from his horse.
"Alright Grayson! Thanks a bunch!" Sabin cheered as he got on the horse. It was a little too wild though, and Sabn almost lost balance and fell off the horse.
"Er.. Grayson? Maybe you should tell the horse to slow down a bit? Whoah!" Sabin shouted as the horse took a wild turn and he almost fell off.
He watched the kid still saring into dead space. "Hey, you! Are you gonna follow us or not? She's coming after you!" Sabin screamed in horror as he saw the woman coming closer to the boy.

Xavier stopped himself from his daydream in answer to the rough voice of the man from earlier. He looked around and barely had time to escape the thrust of the bandit leader's blade that had been aimed for his head.
The blade missed his head but had managed to create a deep gash on Xavier's left arm, which was fortunately not his dominant arm. Clutching his left arm with his right arm, Xavier lost control over his horse and had fallen off the horse. Unfortunately, Xavier's legs were still strapped to the horse and as the weight he had on the horse shifted, the horse started to grow slightly angrier and start rampaging with Xavier being dragged along with it.
"Stop, stop, stoooop! Dammit! Ralph, stop!!!", Xavier screamed, trying to get the horse, Ralph to stop, only to have it become even angrier.

Just as Aaron turned away from his last bit of work, his eyes were greeted by the sight of his allies charging... somewhere... on horseback. For the most part. Some of them, namely Sabin, and the new healer person, didn't seem to be charging very successfully.
Everyone's on horseback Where's my horse? Aaron looked around, but Fable was nowhere to be seen at the moment. Ahh... That horse is a chicken when it comes to magic. He did see Wyatt as well, off doing something involving his hammer, and bandits. He wasn't on horseback.
Slipping his Elfire tome back into his bag, Aaron pulled out his old, familiar, fire tome. It's worn pages had served him well over the years. He practically knew it backwards and forwards.
With a tossing motion, the mage took off towards the healer, and his horse Ralph, tossing a fireball towards the remaining bandit leader, as he rushed towards the horse.
The fireball quickly expanded out into a wide wall of flame, blocking the mounted highwaywoman (was that a real word? It was a mouthful, just the same.) from pursuing the healer. Steering around would take a few moments, while going through would be painful and stupid. The green-haired mage intended to make as much use of his purchased time as possible.
Just managing to intercept Ralph, Aaron grabbed hold of the horses bridle, and, for lack of time, wrenched the horse's head to the side, bring it to a halt after a more steps were taken. Aaron, meanwhile, was pulled along pretty well for those last few steps, but still managed to break the beasts forward movement.
"Whoa, time to stop, Big Fella." He said to the horse, before looking down to meet the healer's gaze and starting to untangle the young man from the mess. "You should get up too."
Now that was an obvious statement, if ever there was one. Behind them, the firewall sputtered and went out, allowing the bandit leader forward again.

As Xavier was dragged across the ground, with the blood from the wound on his hand bleeding away, he could just barely make out a man, perhaps a mage, conjuring a wall of fire with which to slow the bandit leader.
The mage then came forth and patted Ralph, getting Ralph to calm down slightly. From the look of the mage, he was probably more refined and learned than that... ruffian who had talked to him before. And at the advice of the mage to stand up, Xavier was about to retort that it was almost impossible for him to get up himself with his injured left arm when he saw that the wall of fire had been extinguished and saw the bandit leader heading his way.
Grunting, and wincing, at the pain, Xavier used his left arm to support his weight, feeling the wound open slightly larger as he hurried used his right arm to pull his entire body weight up, panting with the effort as he righted his position on Ralph.
Looking down at himself, Xavier saw that his clothes had been dirtied with all the muck and grime on the floor and worst of all, the blood from his wound in his left arm. He examined the wound on and saw to his horror that it had gotten worse than when he was cut. It had been opened deeper from his overexertion of his left arm as he was climbing up and was probably infected after the dirt from the ground had gotten in.
"Thanks...", Xavier responded in a weak voice to the mage that had just helped him get up, and proceeded to rest his left arm on the horse, leaning forward slightly and slowly in order for him to still maintain his balance on the horse.

OoC: Mr. Cobblepot is not wild, but I guess Sabin would have trouble because he's a very fast horse and Grayson likes to ride at full clip most of the time.
Grayson had Mr. Cobblepot stop a bit off to the side of the main group. He was surprised by Sabin's difficulty in handling his steed's pace. Of course, many did back in the days he still belonged to the Pintel family. He was a fast horse, and still was. Not to mention, riding bareback wasn't an easy task. Grayson motioned for Sabin to get off, now that they were out of immediate danger.
"You doing alright, Sabin? I think that they need us over there." Grayson pointed at Aaron and the mounted healer. Taking inspiration from the archer he stole his horse back from, he produced his bow from his back and drew an arrow. Pulling the arrow back in his bow, he attempted to aim at the leader. Though this proved to be incredibly difficult. It was difficult enough for him to aim on land, but now he was trying to aim on the back of a very anxious horse and holding his balance thanks to his lack of a saddle. Realizing that he wasn't going to line up a shot that way, he replaced the arrow in his quiver and hopped off of Mr. Cobblepot's back.
"Alright. I'll cover you as you meet up with Aaron and the others. I'll be down there soon." Grayson explained as he fit an arrow again.
