From her perch, Jya would get a better view of the situation below her, though she still seemed unseen. Both of the priests were holding unique staffs, that much she could tell clearly. The men on the sides of the altar had bows, and one other man behind it had an axe. The priest behind the altar looked like he was around thirty or so. Middle aged.
However, the priest at the base of the altar was younger. Probably not even 20 yet. A head of blond hair, as he stood straight and tall, speaking up to the dais.
"...of course mean no disrespect, but certain questions must be asked."
[blue]"I have personally served the royal family for longer then you have been alive. What audacity to question me!"[/blue]
"I don't seek a conflict. I only wish to know the location of the armaments."
[blue]"Hmph, so you can surrender them to the rebels! Trying to upset legitimate government in Bern, you must be an Ertuian Spy!"[/blue]
The priest off of the platform took a half step back, eying the three warriors. The atmosphere seemed to be getting rather tense...

Jya stared down onto the two, her eyes furrowing in concentration. What the two said disturbed her immensely and she became more tense. There wasn't enough time or openings to kill both of them to be sure she gets her target... Then again why was she doing this again? She shook her head and focused in on the one to be killed.
Although it seems the older one was accusing the younger one of being the spy she wasn't bound to decide due to some conversation she sneaked in upon. Even if she managed to kill the man, what was to be done for her escape and the signal? Bah, she didn't care for the reward... Was this job worth her life in the first place? As her mind asked such questions, her instincts picked in. This was going to hurt but the adrenaline will help. As silent as ever she pounced down, aiming to land on the older priest, her killing edge drawn out. The right time to kill wasn't now but it was time to disarm the man and hold him as captive until she can kill him upon a possible escape route. That was the plan at least...

As Jya flew from the rafters, her descent seemed to catch everyone by surprise. Especially the elder priest that she had just pounced on. He toppled over, with her now on top of him, and an axe man approaching her from the side. The archers shifted their bows, but dared not fire for fear of hitting the older priest.
The younger priest looked up and saw her fall...she looked familiar. It took a second before he realized why that cloak looked familiar.
Because he had bought it.
What on Elibe is she doing here?!
He only paused a moment before he dashed to the side, cracking his staff upside the head of a surprised archer. He fell to the ground, and the other turned his bow to Valorian. He dove down, hiding among the pews as the arrows fired stuck into the wood.
[blue]"Unhand me! Get off of me, what is the meaning of this!"[/blue] The older priest cried, trying to reach into his robes.

Was that? Jya swore she recognized the blond priest that was talking to her target. It even warmed her heart a bit at the recognition but it wasn't enough for her to get jolt in her memory. She'll have to worry about one priest at a time, so she only pushed the blade closer against the man's neck. If she killed him now, she would soon follow him.
"Don't anyone dare move!" she hollered out fully serious, her voice booming throughout the church. She was dead serious here, if she made a false move it would be the end of her.
"You to," she whispered in her most threatening voice at the man. Before tugging at him towards the stairs.

Valorian stood up, looking fully at her for the first time. She hid her face behind a mask...she had a new blade, but there was no mistaking it. That was Jya.
He said nothing, just watching her. His eyes met with hers if she spared him a glance, and his expression spoke clearly.
Be careful.
Her bluff almost worked. The other priest was still, the axeman wasn't moving, but the archer turned towards Val and shot at him again. With a curse, Valorian dove back behind the pews as a pair of arrows zipped overhead.
The man with the axe was slowly following Jya as she backed up towards the stairs. The older priest trying to keep her from stabbing him.
One of the archers shots reflected off of a marble pillar and broke through one of the many stained glass windows. A scream from outside revealed that the arrow had likely surprised someone. It did not seem that silence would be something afforded them for much longer.

Isabel, more than a minute after Jya had arrived, walked into the church to find... What appeared to be a battle between a bunch of armed dudes, two priests, and Jya. Isabel took a moment to be stunned. "What in the---" she began to say, but thought better than to finish the sentence. It seemed that Jya was a little out-numbered... And whether she wanted help or not, the assassin was gonna get some! Isabel flipped open her tome for the second time that morning, and muttered a word. Another egg-shaped Flux formed, and flew into the ground. It reappeared a moment later underneath the archer still standing. While it didn't hurt him too badly, or did more than just stun him, which Isabel was rather happy about. Unfortunately, the archer's attention was then directed at Isabel, who just barely avoided the arrow sent at her. It had actually, Isabel would soon find out, cut through the cloth on her right shoulder and grazed her skin. But now wasn't time to be worried about such mundane issues. Isabel sent another Flux at the archer, which drained her almost as much as the bow-wielder. Dear god Tara even if you aren't good with that sword, please, please try to help!, Isabel thought as she dodged an arrow (this time with better luck).

Tara had followed Isabel quietly into the church. She was taken aback when she saw what was happening A fight, in s holy place? What was this world coming to? She sized up the situation, trying to pick the easiest targets. Knowing priests could not attack, she considered taking one of those out first, but thought better of it. She couldn't stomach killing a holy man unless it was truly necessary.
Her attention was draw to an archer. He was a bit separated from the group, which made her start to think about targeting him. This was further compounded by the archer's next move; shooting at Isabel. That would not do! Tara made up her mind; she would try and take on the archer.
Isabel fired off a spell at the man as Tara ran at him, weakening the bow-wielder. Tara deftly drew her sword and made a sweeping motion at the archer. He jumped back, hardly having to try to dodge the novice's blow. Tara gritted her teeth, and with all of her might, swung again. She swung faster this time, making contact with the bowman's flesh. The sword bit deeply, killing the magic-stricken man. Short of breath, Tara said, "Are you alright, Isabel?"

Jya was caught by surprise that her other companions were here as well. She could not go by usual plan it wasn't the time for such treachery. She didn't abandon others at least not by choice. The priest was no longer useful for her, dead weight was the best way to go. Her muscles tensed as she pressed the cool blade deeper into the neck and moved outwards into a slicing motion. With that done, she flung the priest towards the man with the axe. Her blade was still bloody as she charged forward, her blade ready to slice through all those in her way.

Rayl smiled as the young man went on thanking him and offering to keep playing, but instead merely shook his head, "As much as I would like to it's been awhile since I've prayed, and I'm sure you were about to go somewhere before I arrived. Have a good day young man, perhaps we'll meet again soon." With a nod of his head he looked around from his vantage point atop the giant horse, before riding away from the duo towards the church's tower.
Upon reaching the Church's base, he dismounted from Elibe, patting the horse on the side with his left hand before moving forward to the gate, turning about to his two flagbearers. he knew they weren't exactly religious so he just held his free hand up for them to stop for time being: He wouldn't be long, right?
So he pushed the doorway open and stepped inside, looking down to the shield strapped to his right hand and at his boots while removing his helmet, and once he looked up to remove his helmet when the door closed and-
Well an arrow flew by his face into the door, and a second soon followed. He looked from the door quickly to the scene unfolded in front of him. A young man of the cloth hiding, a young woman pinning an eldery priest to the ground, an knocked out bowman, one firing and an axeman...oh and the woman firing dark magic in front of him. In an instant his shield was in front of him and the wicked lance upon his back now in his hand. His appearance caught the attention of the axeman who moved forward some more but hesitated, looking down at the green clad girl pinning the old priest: Was this knight with them or the assailants? Of course he was soon assailed by the body of the now dead old priest.
When Rayl stepped forward the door was kicked open behind him by a certain bernese charger, as the paladin remounted and blocked the door with his flagbearers: He wasn't exactly able to get into this conflict seeing as he didn't know who was who.

Valorian heard the archer scream in pain. It looked like Jya had help, but what was she doing here to start with? It wasn't like her to seek out trouble, normally it just found her. He peeked his head up and watched as Jya drew her blade across the man's throat. Well...looks like negotiations were over. He spied her attacking the axe man, and winced as her blade stole his life as well. That technique...it was merciless and brutal. But elegant at the same time...smooth and pristine, almost like a form of art. How odd to make the art of murder seem like something beautiful.
His mind snapped back to reality. Their opponents were down, but the problems were not yet over. He moved quickly over to the priests corpse and reached into his robes. He pulled a rolled up piece of parchment from inside, and looked at it. He smiled, exactly what he was looking for.
"We need to go. The guards will be here in minutes." He spoke, looking up at Jya, but not to the others. He wasn't sure of her association with these people, so he refused to identify her by name.
"Are you able to leave by the way you got in?" And at that note, the door flew open and drew everyones attention. Oh great...a mounted knight. And a high ranking one like that. Valorian held out his staff and began backing up, looking to the three ladies gathered there.
"Get out. I'll stall them. They are beyond you...go!" He commanded, and a small spec of golden light ushered from the staffs tip.

Jya looked down at the two dead men. Did she do the right thing here? Her stare only lasted long enough for her to grab the man's staff. After holding the thing a horrible thought crossed her mind. What if her target was indeed Val? That would mean she needed to kill him? No that would never happen, he was a friend and she would do some extreme stuff for her friends.
She looked over as the knight came in. At a glance he was just another enemy but something about him seemed familiar... She knew him to some extent yet the question was where? It must be in her past.
"Wait Val!" She called out, standing between the priest and the knight.
"I know you!" She stated back at the armored one, her face twisted into contemplation.
"Food man?" She managed to ask remembering a word describing him.

When the blond haired man turned to face them, apparently readying his staff, the knights behind him readied their lances, as did the paladin in front of him. But when the green garbed assassin walked up to him as if to surrender she said two words while looking directly up at him:
'Food Man'.
"Food Man?" "Food Man?" The two knights looked at each other, and even Elibe looked up to his rider as if to say: "Food Man?"
Rayl looked down to girl and squinted slightly, his mind flashing back to a young girl coughing and hacking before jumping up to cling onto Alcibie,"...Jya? Really?" She'd grown, he couldn't even RECOGNIZE her from the scrawny sickly little child, but a smile came to his face anyways, "You've got some explaining to do. I'm out of my jurisdiction mind you but the guards will be here any second, you should head out while you can, perhaps with me and my me-"
He had to look back so the man and woman behind him would stop their faint snickering. He was in charge of their salaries, mind you.

((oh poo, i missed everything, no matter probably wouldn't have fought anyway))
The formative man lingered over Calvin and Riley, offering a gentle smile. He didn’t want to hear another song; he was off to the church. Fortunately, so were Calvin and Riley, but before Calvin could really react the man was off in a trot. Calvin turned to Riley and smiled.
“He was nice, I wonder who he was… It’s ok we have time for questions later! Let’s go to the church first!”
With that Calvin put his flute away and quickly chased after Rayl. During all these introductions Calvin’s travelling companions were experiencing a whole different world. Though instead of harmonious music it had the clashing sound of blade on blade and the shrieks of life lost.
After losing track of Rayl many times and having to follow Riley’s lead he eventually saw in the distance a church. It was quite extravagant to say the least. Two horses stood by the entrance but after some moaning and mumbling Calvin managed to squeeze his way through. Unfortunately for him the beauty of the church was hidden by the stains of battle. His eyes widened in surprise and a high pitched “eep” escaped his mouth for a split second before he covered his mouth with his hands. For a few minutes he stared at the bodies before he caught sight of Isabel and the others.
“It happened again! So many of them… gone! It’s so sad.”
A tear escaped Calvin’s eyes. He never thought sadness could be on his journey, but after shaking away the tears (for now) he made sure everyone was ok.
“Is everyone ok? Jya? Isabel? Tara?”
He even turned his head towards Rayl.
“Mister?”

Another man came onto the scene and offered his own opinion of the fine tunes. Before Calvin or Riley could say much to him though, he mentioned heading toward the church himself and was off. Riley simply shrugged as Calvin turned and smiled to him and then talked about his curiosity of who the guy was.
"Right, off to the church we go!"
Riley moved quickly after Calving, sometimes having to make sudden changes in his path to accommodate people walking around. After a moment though, Calvin seemed to have gotten lost and Riley was quick to give him the right directions on where to go. What came next though, was most definitely a shocker. The church had many battlescars, fresh blood among them. Riley began to frown intensely, worried of just what was going on. The Mage looked over to Calvin, who seemed to catch sight of the people he had been talking about earlier. He started speaking to them, Riley dead silent the whole time.
This whole scene was very unnerving. And suddenly, he began to remember the words of the Sage that had taught him when he was younger. The older man had spoken many times of the more gruesome side of war and battle. The looks upon the faces of the young and old as they lay on the ground, dead or dying as their comrades could do nothing for them. Riley was speechless at this sight, his mind drawing a blank when he tried to say anything.

Isabel began to answer the usual 'yeah, I am fine' response when she realized he had gotten scratched. Now, it wasn't much of a wound at all, but it was still more than she was used. Isabel was quiet as she realized that if she had reacted any slower, she would have an arrow in her arm right now. She frowned, and then stood, brushing herself off. "I appear to gotten a scratch, but nothing more. It should stop bleeding soon." she said, with an almost irritable undertone in her voice. And then the church had bunch of people. Jya called someone food man, that knight guy who ha entered was talking to them, and then Calvin and some really feminine man followed the bard. Calvin asked her if everything was okay, invoking the sarcastic reply. "Yes Calvin. Everything is just dandy. We came in here and found dead bodies, so we're going to bury them. No, everything isn't really okay." the blue-haired girl snapped, and then went over to the knight. She wasn't really interested in here he had come from, but she did agree with something he had said.
"Yeah, Jya. I think you have some explaining to do." Isabel huffed, and then backed down. The knight made a good point; they should probably leave now... But Isabel wasn't leaving until she was totally certain her little group was with her. Whether that meant Calvin's new friend or this knight guy with his back-up were coming with them or not didn't matter... It was probably time to leave.
