Valorian looked about the church nervously. Way too many people, and clearly the first time most of them had seen this. Wonderful, absolutely wonderful. "This is not the place for words. The guards certainly noticed the disturbance, and will be here in minutes. Let me think for a moment." He paused for a second. "Jya, you came from the roof correct? You should use it to leave. You two." He said, pointing to Isabel and Tara. "You were in the church praying when this broke out. Clean the blood off of that sword." He added to Tara. "You, Knight. You heard the commotion and were the first to arrive. Your position should give you some say in the matter."
He looked at the last pair that had walked in. "You two can either leave, or claim you just walked in at the end. Your presence here is minimal. I can talk my way out of the guards, so leave that to me."
He looked to Jya, the one in the most danger here. "You should go. I don't know why you were here, but I trust you. We'll speak later."
And with that he moved towards the doors of the church. If people wanted to worry about burying the bodies or whatnot they could. He had to worry about the living before he concerned himself with the dead.

Jya glanced at Valorian and gave him a nod. An assassin should't stay long after the job is complete. She sure hoped she got the right one at least. It was still nice to meet up with Mr. Food Man but she'll have to catch up later.
"I'll explain what I can, later at the inn," she answered to both Rayl and Isabel. With that she took her leave knowing full well that the knight did not know the name of the one they were staying at. With her quick feet she dashed forward, up through the top of the stairs. To not waste anytime she took out a piece of green cloth and tied it around the staff. When she reached the top she slightly hesitated. Once those who had hired her saw this they might either be happy she got the right one or angered that she made a mistake. Shaking her head, she needed answers and hanged the thing up at the designated location be fore escaping through the roof.

"I- Yes. He's right. We all need to leave quickly or start making a story." Riley spoke after Valorian. "I don't know what's going on, but it doesn't matter. A scene like this will leave lots of questions and doubts." He looked to Calvin and then to Isabel, "We could all meet up somewhere else. Staying here isn't an option. Or at least, it's not a smart one." The ex-nobleman then walked back out of the door and looked out at the streets. "No guards, yet!"

Everyone was together, amongst the bodies of Jya’s target and those who tried to protect him. Assassination was certainly a ruthless occupation, for now it was best Calvin knew nothing of it, and maybe even, never to. Valorian, Riley, Rayl, Isabel, Tara, Jya and Calvin, it was certainly an odd gathering to say the least. The intensity of the group conversation had Calvin distracted from everything, preventing his simple mind from piecing everything together. Isabel was fine, with her healthy sarcastic and bossy attitude, and Calvin was relieved when he realized this aswell as the fact everyone else was also unharmed. However this wasn’t the only issue at hand, guards would soon arrive and at that point everyone would have some explaining to do. However just then, a stranger spoke. He was a young blonde male who Calvin had yet to meet and sadly wouldn’t any time soon. The stranger tossed some quick thought out plans to keep everyone safe, that is, for now.
Jya told Rayl and Isabel that she would explain everything later, Calvin had to be there, and after all he was just as baffled as anyone else. With a saddened look on his face he stepped forward lightly as if trying to stop Jya, but letting her go instead. A mild moan of dissatisfaction and confusion escaped him as he watched Jya flee from the scene. Before Calvin lost track of what was happening, he was drawn back to the current events. There was so much to take in, Calvin had only been travelling a few weeks and he had no idea life was so fast paced outside a fence. Riley exited the church first notifying the group that the guards weren’t here yet, and there was still time to escape. Calvin quickly made his way over to Isabel and stood behind her waiting for her to lead the way. Before he left though he looked over at Valorian. He felt as if he owned him some form of thanks, but wasn’t entirely sure. He tried to thank Val but nothing really happened.
Calvin remained silent while he waited for Isabel to take charge of him.

And in an instant crazy things happened. Jya was up and gone through the ceiling, the bard and his l-man friend had arrived behind his men, and the young priest was describing some sort of plan," He has a point. My men will man the side of the doors while the guards arrive. You-" a pointed finger to Valorian...he kinda looked familiar..."-and I will explain the story of the conflict of the guards, and how I arrived to find you (again adressing Valorian) in hiding in that corridor watching the scene, where you'll then provide a fake description of the assailant. The rest of you...Well I need the name of this inn so we may speak later. Anyone have any questions?"
The man to his left rose a hand,"Uh...Sir? Why are we getting involved in this-"[/b] the other flagbearer chimed in, " It's the Commander. You haven't been signed up for long have you?"
"-The rest of you can make yourselves look like concerned citizens while we 'keep you away' from the scene while the guards arrive. Now then, into positions before they do." With this he and his men turned about, one on each side of the door while he trotted to the front of the door, facing down the path to the church...He could see the guards mobilizing,"Hurry up now!"

Valorian watched Jya leave. It had been a while since he'd lost contact with her in Laus. What had happened? It did his heart good to see her safe, and a smile graced his lips before he heard the knight speaking. He turned back to him, nodding at what he said.
"I agree. We can discuss the truth later. For now..." He moved back to the old priests dead body and returned the scroll he had found there, before returning to the door. As if on cue, the sounds of booted feet outside drew his attention. Four soldiers, and one Captain, entered the church, looking about at the signs of battle.
[red]"What has happened here?!"[/red] He directed the question to Valorian, who looked most of all like he actually belonged here. He moved towards the Captain and bowed.
"Oh thank the heavens you are here! The priest, he was attacked by some unknown man. He came from the rectory in the back, killed the guards, and then fled through the back!"
The Captain growled. [red]"What reason would someone have to kill a priest. I've never seen you here before..."[/red] He remarked, eying the boy suspiciously.
Valorian looked panicked, that he could fake well. "I do not know! He said something about killing traitors, killed the priest and his guards, and then ran out the back when these Knights came in." He said, gesturing to Rayl and his Honor Guards.
As the guards turned to Rayl, Valorian allowed a small smile to take to his lips, as if to say

As the attention turned to him and his men, Rayl gave a bow from atop his horse to the footmen before him, before waving a shield baring hand behind him," My men and I were returning to Lycia after an audience with the Illian Emissary. We made our stop here to pray and grab something to eat before continuing. When we arrived we found this scene: The dead men on the ground, and a man about 'yey' high with red hair in a brown cloak leaping out the back as this young man was hiding behind a pillar." He waved a hand back to Valorian, then directed it towards the others before him,
"My men and I felt it best to keep your civilians in check and stand watch until you arrived to check the scene, you know how they can be as well as I do... and some people may try and take things from within the temple, as I'm sure you are well aware of."
the guards looked over at each other and smirked: Guard talk, you know how that is,"Yes, well we have it taken care of from here go about your business, Lycian." The man spoke with his thick Bernese accent with a smile, before waving to his men,"We'll check out the back of the temple in case the assailant may be in the area, then we'll head out after him. Come on, men!" with this the guards made their way into the temple, past the bodies, and soon were out of sight inside.
Rayl looked back to his men, then to cast of characters before him,"Alright then, we'd best be moving out to that inn."

As the guards moved by, Valorian let them pass and said nothing. Once they'd moved into the back he started to leave the church. "Nice work there." He remarked, taking a step into the street before realizing he had no idea where Jya was staying. He turned to the other people gathered behind him, and spied the shaman first.
"Since you helped me, I can assume you know our little green friend. Would you be so kind as to lead on?" He asked. He hoped she wasn't going to be too difficult to convince to help, he didn't feel like trying to deal with these headaches right now.

Isabel, once again dragging Tara (I'm noticing a trend here...), went to pews as the guards came in, pretending to pray. In reality, she was silently swearing in a whisper that not even Tara, sitting right next to her, could hear. Once they had left, Isabel stood up, and gently touched her shoulder where she had received the scratch from the arrow. She frowned, and then sighed. The blue-haired pupil, addresed by the priest, looked at him. "Hmm... Yeah. Our little green friend... We stayed at the Blue Heron last night." Isabel snapped back into focus, and then walked back to the doors. "Will we all head down that way? Maybe we can continue spreading that rumor of the man who killed these people while we're there." she suggested, and then stepped outside, waited a moment for the others to follow her, and then set off back to the inn.

Jya continued to dart through the roofs, considering what had happened and the consequences of her actions. There was an uncomfortable feeling in the pit of her stomach. It was either she her illness or a sense of guilt. The man had to be guilty though for her own sake. There was no way that she'll accept Valorian as an enemy. They had been through quite a bit, not as much as Alcibie, but enough that she trusted him enough.
In her thoughts she missed a step, tripped and almost fell onto the ground, barely grabbing the ledge on time. This was no time to think about such matters, if anything she needs to clear her story. Her mind raced, organizing different thoughts and how she should explain it. It would be easier to just show everyone the letter but it might harm her chance in finding out the sender. She'll just have to tweak the contents and such a bit...
It wasn't long before she reached the Blue Heron. It was already an exhausting as she dragged herself into the darkest area she could find, taking a seat with a heavy sigh. She cracked her neck a bit and stretched out her muscles. It helped the ache she was feeling from all the tenseness that was going on at the church. Killing people in the church didn't seem like a good way to get in favor of Elimine... What kind of mess did she get herself into now?

Valorian walked silently with the small entourage. He had nothing to discuss with them out in the open, that would be rather foolish. When any that wished to do so arrived at the inn, he walked in after the female shaman. He looked about the inn, scanning it for Jya. He couldn't see her, but that didn't bother him. He walked up to the bar. "Barkeeper." He spoke, throwing a few coins on the counter. "A bottle, make it strong." He placed his staff on his back and took the bottle from the counter, moving into the recesses of the room where the torch light seemed dimmest. Sure enough, there was a familiar figure in the shadows, and he half grinned at seeing her.
"It's been quite a while. How are you?" He said, approaching her and sitting down across from her.

Well, this last burst of activity was... Riley couldn't even quite think of the word for it. Enjoying a bard's music, finding a church filled with dead bodies and an assassin of some kind, and now here they all were in this inn. Riley had no damn clue this morning about how deep a mess he would come to find himself in today. "Okay. So. What just happened?" There really wasn't much else he could think to say at the moment. Except to get something strong to drink.

Jya looked over at Valorian with a small smile on her face. She felt strained and somewhat forced. Now as she recalled it was Valorian who read her the contract thing... How should she tell him about that throbbing and the rushing to kill? Whatever happens it can't be helped and lying is a drag sometimes.
"I've been fine, maybe even a little healthier than usual," she began taking a deep breath to tell him about her advancement.
"Umm, about that piece of paper you read to me a long time ago," she said, rushing a bit and hoping the priest forgot about the ominous message.
"I was in a really desperate spot and I signed it, then it stuck to my hand and then the pounding in my head and blood and killing and wanting to," she rushed over the last part quite quickly, hey she wasn't lying.
"Other than that I'm good!"

Valorian listened to her story. So, she signed the contract...he figured it would have come to this. She hurried to explain herself, but he raised a finger to her lips with a small smile.
"You never need to explain yourself to me Jya. You aren't some horrible person, I know this. Do you honestly think I would have traveled halfway across Elibe with a common thief?" He remarked, taking the top from the bottle and taking a small draw of it. "We've all done things that we aren't proud of...some of us more so then others..."
He paused for a moment, considering. "But...where there is life, there is hope. As long as we are alive, we can make amends, and do some good in the world. I don't know why you were there, but that man in the church...at the very least you probably saved my life. And if my information is correct, you could have saved hundreds of lives. Not like that is how people will see it..." He said, looking coldly around the room.
He looked to her, offering her the bottle. "Once I did believe that violence was the weapon of a fool, but I've had time to reconsider that. There is a time and a place for it, and sometimes it is needed. Just do me a favor, and don't forget who you were when you started." He said, looking about the bar to see if the others had moved over.

The group managed to escape suspicion of the guards and more importantly Jya was safe, for now. Although a skillful assassin like Jya should be fine, this was her job after all. After just a short walk from the murder site the entire group had made it back to the familiar Blue Heron. It wasn’t until that point a smile had returned to Calvin as he realized how hectic his day had actually been. Only this morning was he to leave for Bern with Isabel and Jya, that was until the commotion outside and Calvin saw his first kill in the group’s successful attempts to save Tara. After that Jya had left to do some work while the others split to examine the town. That was the moment everything changed, scratch that, everything changed as soon as he met Jya. Jya left to do her job while Calvin met Riley and Rayl where they then arrived at the murder scene and met Valorian and all of a sudden everyone was involved.
Unfortunately the peppy smile on Calvin’s face didn’t last long as he thought about all the people who had died today. The world was certainly a cruel place, and of course to make matters worse Calvin had yet to find out this was happening all around the world. Calvin’s dim trail of thoughts had shortened the road, but now after only a short break, it was time to revisit what had just happened. They sat in the dimly lit corner, Jya explaining everything that had happened, Calvin listening deeply in hopes of figuring it out. He still had no idea what an assassin did, but from the looks of it he didn’t like it. That was his first thought however, his opinion quickly shifted as the priest from earlier spoke to Jya explaining that had in fact saved lives, through the death of others. It hurt Calvin’s head and maybe even his heart to think about it, but for now everything was going to be ok. He leaned forward on the table, folding his arms and resting his head on them.
“Jya saved everyone. Jya is a hero!.... I hope…. I hope that Jya will always be my friend!”
