Tamaya looked around. So this was Bern...? There was not much here besides mountains, sky, and forest. It was peaceful. She could see no signs of the "rebellion" everyone was speaking of; it just looked to her like the land was in balance with the sky, and the people in balance with the land and sky. It seemed to be a place close to peace, where men flew through the sky on Wyverns and children played in the grassy meadows.
The nomad woman sat eating blueberries in the field, Shikoba grazing near her contentedly. It was a beautiful morning, and she was enjoying her breakfast before getting to work. She had to fletch new arrows for her bow, especially since many had been lost and broken during the Siege. Thank goodness those monsters were repulsed... That was a frightening ordeal.
But now all was well. She was unharmed, none of her clanspeople had died, although a great many sustained some sort of injury... She was indeed blessed. And so she was at peace, even though there was still violence and strife in the world. All was well, for now. The nomad smiled.
Taking out her bow and arrows, knife, feathers, and wood, Tamaya began to craft new arrows, carefully shaping the wooden shafts and then attaching the iron points to them before setting the pointed shafts aside. Once she had fixed the points to them, she would begin to attach the arrows in her peculiar pattern... She had found it increased flight distance and made them sail strong and true without extra effort.

So, this is Bern, the homeland of my father Marcus thought. It's so different from Lycia. There seems To be nothing but mountains and forest for miles. He tightened his trip on the hilt of Tsurugi, still wary of bandits. Ever since the plains of saecae, they had been everywhere. He continued to wander for a while, seeing nothing but plains and a mountain range in the distance. He looked up to see the sun in the middle of the sky. It must be around noon, he thought. He took a swig from his cateen. He was getting low on food and water. He scanned the horizon. Nothing but mountains. There had to be a village SOMEWHERE around here. If he didn't find one soon, he was as good as dead.
He continued wandering towards the mountains as the day dragged on. Eventually he saw what looked to be....a Horse? Looked like the breed used by the Sacaens. That either ment it was bandits or a saecaen. Oh in the name of St. Elimine don't let it bandits. Please don't let it be bandits. But as drew closer, he could tell that it was a blond haired woman sharpening what looked to be arrows. Blond hair...not that was not common among saecans. He waited till he was a few yards to speak. "Hail, Sacaen, if that is what you are". He tightened his grip on Tsurugi. "If you are a sacaen, show some sign. If you are a Brigand, prepare for battle, But if you are a sacaen, I mean no harm.".

"...?"
Tamaya looked up to see a man approaching, his sword drawn. Her first instinct was to nock an arrow in her bow and stretch back the string, which she did without thinking, training the point of the arrow at the man's arm. She would shoot to disable, not to kill... Her clanspeople said she was too generous and peaceful. But why kill if he meant no harm? Ask first, shoot later was her philosophy.
The man's greeting caused her to pause... He meant no harm...? As far as she could see, they were alone, with nothing but meadow around and the village in the backdrop. So she was relatively safe, unless there were airborne bandits... Nope.
"I also come in peace. I am Tamaya of the Cathecassa clan."
Lowering her bow, Tamaya returned to her crouch, continuing to add the feathers to her arrows. She only had a few more to go, and then she would be all set.
"The morning is still young... Seek you food and shelter, or simply company? I can direct you to the former and provide the latter. You are safe with me. I just need to finish my arrows... Were you at the City of Heroes? When the demon hordes burst forth and the land was dark with evil? When Hargus attacked? Were you there, you of Sacaean blood? Did you fight for your people? Did you fight for your land? The dark evil that shrouded our land is gone... But the ground is scarred deeply.
