As Xeldine dragged Orcleous away the Champion noticed that Claira was acting a bit different. She seemed sadden by something, thought Orcleous did not completely catch onto it. All that mattered at the moment was getting off to meet this chief of the guard and then getting back. As Orcleous was pulled away like a carriage and a horse he stopped for a moment to look back. "I will be right back", he shouted and then he made Xeldine's work easy. "Fine, fine", spoke Orcleous as he marched on. He was not really in the mood for talking to somebody else, but it seemed that it was important. You never wanted to get on the bad side of the Mordor guard. The gates where nice a sturdy and if they wanted too they could banish you outside of them.
As Orcleous walked away with Xeldine his mother began to talk to Claira. "It seems you two are really close", spoke Mrs. Isengard as she watched Claira turn. "The way he was all frigidy and talking to himself I thought it might be a one sided affair." Orcleous mother was not the smartest women when it came to math or science, but she knew people. She had a gift for reading them and how they reacted. She understood all that went on in her household and a bit about stuff on the outside. "Speaking of which can you do me a favor darling", spoke Mrs. Isengard as she took off a crimson headband and placed it into the young thief hand. "You see this headband has been in our family for several generations. I received it from my mother and she received it from her mother. So it is a very precious item. It would be a shame if anything was to happen to it while I worked in the kitchen. So could you go and give this thing to little Orc. I know he will keep it safe from harm", she spoke as she began to walk back into the kitchen.
----- "So what does the guard captain want with me anyway", spoke Orcleous as the champion placed his hands on the back of his head. They where a good ways from the family farm now so she did not have a reason to drag him anymore.
"He just wants to question you about a guy you punched."
"Oh dear lord", spoke Orcleous suddenly with surprise. "Please tell me he is not dead."
"What", spoke Xeldine as she looked at Orcleous with disbelief! "No he is not dead. He just broke his nose and was kicked out the village for causing problems. The captain just wanted to know if there was any more information you could add."
"Oh", spoke Orcleous as he looked at his fist. "So they can't kill after all. That is good, well bad. Maybe a bit between", he spoke as he began to think on it.
"Orcleous some times I swear that you run on hot air", spoke Xeldine.

"Closer then one might think. We fought together and bled together. Even injured, he was always by my side Mrs. Isengard. and for that...I've admired him since we met." Claira looked back at Orcs mother as she explained about the head band and made the request for Claira to give to Orcleous so he could keep it safe. Looking at the old head band, Claira nodded her head. "I will give it to him Mrs. Isengard. Then I will be back as soon as I can." Lifting her red hood up, she ran off the porch like a red line of crimson. If she was to catch up them, she would have to run like her life was on the line. While running, her right side began to throb like before. Intense pain began to shoot through out her body. In her head she thought, "I can't stop. His mother asked me to do her a favor. Pain isn't going to slow me down!" Clenching her teeth together as hard as she could, the blonde hair thief kept up her speed.
As she ran, she could make out Xeldine and Orcleous walking. Breathing short but fast, she mustered up what energy she had for a final sprint. Bolting for them, she had the head band in both of her hands close to her body. She was keeping it safe. The pain started to take its toll making her running more sluggish. Claira was almost to them when she had to stop for a moment. Falling to her knees, she tried to get a lot of air into her lungs all at once, but started to cough heavily. Forcing herself, she tried running but was a bit slow. After she finally caught up to the two, she reached her hand out and ran into him while she slowed down. If it was a full Sprint, they both would be feeling it. But since she already was slowed down, she simply hit him slightly and was leaning onto him. Fighting to get her breathing under control, she held up the crimson head band to Orcleous.
"y...y..your mother...t..told me to...give this to...you for...safe...keeping." Was all she could say as hunched down breathing heavily. Her whole chest and her rib cage was going to cave in on her. Claira would force herself up onto her feet to head back to his families home. But she had to lean against something as her breathing was fast and a bit harsh.

"Foolish little girl take the hint", spoke Mrs. Isengaurd as Claira vanished from her view. She thought it would only be proper if the maiden followed the two of them, but it seemed that she only saw it as busy work. On well, she could only prey that Orcleous caught onto her intent. "Well I better go check the oven", she spoke as she vanished into her home. Some of the other man folk started to come up to the house from the back door.
As Orcleous walked him and his apprentice talked. "I swear that you run on hot air", spoke Xeldine when Orcleous felt somebody run into him. At first he thought he might have been stabbed. However the lack of pain and familiar breathing caused him to turn around immediately.
"Claira", spoke Orcleous with horror and surprise. The Champion rushed over and grabbed her, helping the maiden to her feet. "What in the world are you doing", spoke Orcleous and then she gave him the headband. What in the world was his mother thinking, thought Orcleous. Why would she send her to give him this and now. It made no sense to him. It was then that things clicked in his mind. "Oh come on mother", spoke Orcleous.
"What is wrong with her now", spoke Xeldine, but a glare from Orcleous told her to shut up. The Champion then turned his attention to Claira.
"Hey Claira give me your hand", spoke Orcleous as he made himself a object for her to lean on. "With you injuries you should not be running around", spoke Orcleous. There was no way he was going to let her walk all the way back to the house in her condition, but at the same time he could not go back. Giving off a long sigh Orcleous took the headband and wrapped it around his hair. "Me and mom need to have a talk when I get back", spoke the Champion. "Hey Claira you might just need to come with us. I don't like the idea of you walking back in your condition, or the stain it would put on my personal honor. What kind of man would I be if I like my ...," the champion stopped for a moment. He was never good with his emotions or the idea of himself being in a relationship, stil. "What kind of man would I be if I let my girlfriend walk back home in this condition."
His words caused Xeldine to clench her fist and flinch up. "I thought you said that your relationship was completely platonic", she spoke in a very uncommon calm tone. The change was noted by Orcleous, but the Champion knew there was no way around it.
"Sorry, but things", spoke Orcloeus as he thought back to the incident in the hallway. "Well things change", he spoke as he rubbed the back of his head. The Champion wanted to punch somehting, but there was nothing to punch. Xeldine however simply stopped and took a deep breath.
"Hurry it up", she barked as she pushed forward. "You two are going to make me late for my route", she spoke. Xeldine made sure that she stayed in front of the duo.

Holding his hand, she was stabilized. But when he called her his girlfriend, her eyes lit up brightly as she smiled. He actually said it in front of his novice. Nodding her head to her to go with them, she wrapped an arm around him. Following behind the young novice, the thief could feel the tension coming from her. It started to worry her a bit. Then thinking about what his mother said, and said out loud. "My mother gave it to me as her mother did before her...is she..." It finally sank in. Looking at him, she'd smile again and say to him. "She already knows...it wasn't for you...." But she wasn't going to take it off hum since he was wearing it now. Thinking about it made the smile bigger. But her mind went back to Xeldine. Claira would have to talk or deal with her some how,"But how can I when she's already like a brick wall?" She thought to herself. Looking up at him then at Xeldine, Clairas griped on him a bit tighter, she finally asked. Not really caring if it was bad timing or not, she wanted to know what her beef was and to see if the two of them could work it out.
"Xeldine, what is your problem towards me? You don't even know me and yet you judge me quickly. Is this why you keep trying to keep him away from me?" Claira said it without emotion. In fact, her voice sounded cold. Her eyes were on Xeldine like an arrow to a bullseye. The pain seemed to disappear while walking with the two. If Xeldine was to look back, the thirds face would be blank. Her eyes fixed on the novice. While walking, the Captain of the guard was walking up to them. "Ah Orcleous, just the man I wanted to see. I didn't know if you were eating or not. So I decided to take the time to walk to your families home and ask you there. With all the commotion about this young ladies health here, I know your probably worried. So let's leave the young ladies here and take a stroll around town to talk." Claira broke her gaze from Xeldine and looked at him smiling. "I'll be here when you get back...Love." Leaning up, Claira kissed him and didn't care what Xeldine would say or do. "Besides. It may give me and Xeldine time to talk." Looking back at the red haired novice, she began to eye her up like a predator to its prey.

As Claira spoke Xeldine stopped. It seemed that her words hit a mark. Orcleous picked up on the tension and realized something was about to happen. Before he could say anything a word slipped out of Xeldine's mouth. "Vixen", she spoke. It was clear that there was going to be more, but the captain walked up. Orcleous was not sure if he was a life saver or just another problem. It was clear that he wanted to discuss something he figured was of value, but Orcleous was not so sure that leaving the two of them alone was a good idea. Sitll he knew the captain would not accept no for a answer. "Just play nice", spoke Orcleous to Claira as someone else was dragging him off. This seemed to be a reoccurring theme around here.
As Orcleous vanished from ear-shock Xeldine opened her mouth to speak. "I hate your guts", she spoke plainly. Her back was still turned toward Claira. The young maiden did not want her to see her eyes. The tears that had formed where to embarrassing. "You know when I first meet Orcloeus I was trapped inside of a carriage. Monsters had attacked our caravan and one of them bashed the door shut. For two days I sat in that carriage scared about the thought of the beast returning. Then, on the third day, Orcleous showed up. Almost like a hero out of a story book. It was then in that moment I realized that he was special and that out meeting meant something. After we traveled together for a while I understood what I was feeling and the feelings I had toward him. Then once everything seemed to be going great you show up", she spoke.
Xeldine then drew her sword from her hip. The maiden's blade shinned in the bits of light remaining in the sky. "You know the first thing that came to my mind was to simply chop you up and be done with it", she spoke as she turned around and faced Claira. Tear streaks could clearly be seen under her eyes as she looked at the thief. "However after thinking I realized that it would be pointless", she spoke as she put her sword back up. "Killing you won't change his feelings, nor will it get me closer to my goal. I would only dirty my blade", she spoke as she began to walk off. "The day you screw up I will be there to take your spot", spoke Xeldine as she began to move to her assignment.
------------------------ "So what do you want to talk about", spoke Orcleous as he looked at the gaurd captain. It was clearly important since he pulled him away from home to talk. Though Orcleous was starting to wonder if the conversation was truly going to be about the man he punched or something else.

Claira bit her tongue as Xeldine was talking about how she had feelings for Orcleous and how much the novice hated her. When Xeldine went for her sword, Claira's reflexes kicked and drew her two steel daggers. Again another volley insults and the novice sheathed the sword. With her daggers in hand, Claira would reply to her insults. "Don't pull your sword out if you don't intend to fight Novice. Try being a slave, try being branded on both your chest and on your back, being cut up from wrist to shoulder for 6 years by a slaver Xeldine. Then try to be hunted down for another ten years. Barely able to sleep, always running, no stopping. When I met him, I've been awake and running for almost four days straight. He defended me against...who am I? You already have your mind set against me and wouldnt care to hear about how my life was nothing but hell until I met Orcleous. The person who I've fought alongside and bled with...we saved each other's life..." Putting her daggers away, she stood there watching Xeldine walking away from her. But her left hand would stay behind her, holding the handle of one of her daggers. With her right hand, she slid the hood off.
The guard captain was walking as he said. "Well first off, I'd like to thank you for knocking the guy out when you did. We heard how he was acting and thought he was going to attack someone." As they continued, a group of people getting done work past them by. The captain raised his hand to greet them. "Second, what do you know of him. Third, how's your companion doing...and for the fourth subject of business Orcleous." He would stop dead in his tracks to face him. The older man took off his helmet. With a piece of cloth, he'd wipe the sweat off. "How would you feel joining Mordor's town Guard? It's a lot less risk to your life being here and you'd be close to your family and close to Xeldine. The wages are decent for a new comer. You've proven yourself to be a great fighter Orc. Its said you've saved not just Xeldine's life, but your blonde friends as well? That's a good track record for you." Looking at Orcleous, the guard stood watching for a response then added. "What do you say Orc? Will you help protect your village when it surely needs the man power? I would ask others, but most of the men here can't or don't want to even think about fighting and possibly taking someone's life by their hands. Just...think about it. You can find me at the guards tower. Better go check up on your friend Xeldine, hopefully they are playing nice." Then the guard left Orcleous alone

"Unfortunately I can't tell you much", spoke Orcleous as he looked at the captain. "I did not know much about him myself. To be honest the only reason I punched him in the face was because he came slamming on my door. You can only take so much from a guy. However by the way he dressed I would say he was probably on the bad end of the mercenary scale. Most mercenaries who want good paying jobs wear Red, Blue, or green. He was wearing black which meant he wanted to either blend into the darkness or go stand out. People who wear darker colors usually get more gritty jobs. What he actually does I could not tell you. As for Claira well she is doing alright", spoke the Champion.
As the conversation thicken the captain brought up a very serious subject. He offered Orcleous a chance to join the town guard. Joining up with the guard would be a good way to settle down. Not only could Orcleous use his skills with the blade, but he could also protect his home village. At the same time however Orcleous would be stuck here for a very long time. His days of wondering would be done. Wondering in itself is both annoying and exciting. It has its perks and its disadvantages. One disadvantage of settling down however is the fac that Orcleous has enemies. Staying in one place makes it very easy for them to find him. Not to mention Claira. The two have just entered into a steady relationship. If Orcleous stayed here then she would never get a chance to get back at the slavers. At the same time however it made it easy for her enemies to find her. There was also the case of that thing.
"Sorry, but I don't think it is possible", spoke Orcleous to the guard captain. Before he could say more the man told him to think on it and walked away. It was true Orcleous was shooting off the hilt, but on one hand Orcleous knew what he had to do. As much as life was looking up for him at the moment he still needed to go back and eliminate that thing. If he did not then who knows what kind of damage it could cause the world. Orcleous could not simply go back to his hometown and act as if there was no abomination walking around. Lycia was in danger of being swallowed up my monsters. If Lycia fell then every other nation ran the threat of falling. Bern is far too weak to take on a monster. Shoot the few badies that wonder around now cause enough trouble. Think what would happen if a army of them came marching out of Lycia. Yes Orcleous had to go back. There was no beating around the bush on that one.
"I wonder if I should tell her", spoke Orcleous to himself as he began to walk the path back to there he left the two of them. There where a lot of things Claira did not know, and a lot of thing he thought she should not know. His family had a idea of what Orcleous saw in Lycia, but the only one who truly knew as Xeldine herself.
"Yo Claira", spoke Orcleous as he arrived back at the location.

Claira watched as Xeldine didn't say anything back, just walked off. To herself, Claira would say. "Just like a child...I will sit down with her...even if it means I strap her down and gag her." Looking around, the whole village was quiet on the street. The pain began to break through the emotional wall she had up. Putting her arms around her ribs and slightly squeezing her sides, it helped her breath a bit better. The thought of chasing the young novice down did cross her mind. A guard in a state she is in a bit risky. Xeldine could attack someone out of anger or making defending more tricky. This was very disturbing that she was acting like this, especially taking her sword out saying she wanted to chop up the the thief. If not Claira, then someone needs to talk to Xeldine. "I will feel sorry to whoever talks to her if not me." Claira said out loud. Before she could start moving, she heard that all to familiar voice.
"Yo Claira." Orcleous said as he walked towards her. The Thief looked towards then moved to him. Stopping just in front of him, she would say to him. "I hope your little chat went better then me and your novice's. Now I fully understand where she stands regarding me...and towards you as well. I'll tell you when we get to the Inn...don't want people around us ease dropping about it."Shaking her head slightly, she looked at him and tilted her head to the right. "Looks like you got something you want to talk about. Lets head back and we can talk about it along the way hun. " The Thief would smile up at him as she let one of her hands go from her side, and held it out to him. But Claira had the feeling someone was watching them. If not Orcleous, then just Claira. This feeling was strong, making her want to look around. The Thief knew if she started to look around, then the person would get spooked. If she could catch him or her in the act, then she could catch the snooping person.
Mean while, outside the Village walls.
The man with the greatsword looked at the wall before him. He had travel a great deal before he could circle around to the village side to make it seem he was fully gone. "They are hiding behind thee walls. If Raven is here, then I will set the town a blaze. Dad wants her dead or alive...but I think I'll just bring back her head! Hahaha!" Taking a few steps back, he bolted towards the wall. Jumping up, he grabbed the edge of the top and pulled himself up. Hopping down, he made a slight thud in his landing. Staying in the shadows, he began to sneak through the village avoiding the guards. Rat stopped when he saw the back of the maiden with red hair from before. Reaching up, he placed a hand on the handle incase he was to be made by her. He would show no mercy.

As Claira spoke Orcleous raised a eyebrow. Clearly some words would be spoken, but it seemed that they where far more intense than he thought. Looking at her Orcleous noticed that there where no marks or cuts on her, that where not already there of course. So he figured it all stuck to words. still the fact that Claira mention they needed to talk about it made Orcleous a bit worried. Still that was a topic for behind closed doors.
"The guard captain offered me a job as a gaurdsmen", spoke Orcleous as he looked at Claira. "It is a good job for anybody looking to settle down, but I am not sure if I should settle down at the moment. I still have a promise to keep with you and I still have things that I think I should handle."
Orcleous was never one for six senses. He was good at noticing changes in the environment like misplace candles or robes where there should be none, but he was not so good at noticing that he was being watched. Even more so when he was talking to somebody. He placed a lot of attention into his word choice and when speaking to Claira it was made even worse. Still that was one of the main reasons Orcleous liked to keep a breastplate. When he did get caught off guard he could use the steel as a shield and skirt off a blow. Most weapons his breastplate can handle and anything that could pierce it was usually to big for him not to notice.
Looking at Claira Orcleous realized that something was not right. He did not notice it, but she did. You probably could not notice it from afar, but you could see it up close. "So at the moment I am not sure what I should do. I could look around and check out my options or I could simply charge head first toward my problems and knock them down. What do you think", spoke Orcleous. The champion gave a bit of message in his last few sentences, but he was not sure if she would pick up on it. It kind of flowed a bit too well with the conversation, or at least in his eyes it did.

The Rat heard the man who had punched him in the face was talking to someone and the maiden in front of him was watching something from a good distance. Quietly, the man snuck up on her putting a tight grip on her throat and his other on her swords handle so she couldn't get it. Whispering in her ear he would say. "You make a sound, or even just a peep. I will snap your neck and drive my sword through your pretty little face. You play nice and follow the rules, you will survive the night. Now, nod if you understand my terms." His eyes looked out at what she was watching. It was the champion and a woman wearing mostly red, but couldn't see her face. Just that she had golden blonde hair. Feeling the novice Nodding her head, he would slowly let go of her throat and took her sword from her sheath. "Now little guard, I'm looking for someone my boss wants back. She's called Raven. Last heard, she was traveling with him." Then he'd point at Orcleous. With her sword aimed right at her own throat now, Xeldine was put into a problem that could kill her. His face was cold and scarred. The arm that held her sword had a branding of a Rat exposed. "I want everything you know...so talk quietly or you get impaled to this wall and left for dead."
Claira put her hand into his and said to him. "That's great to hear! But it's a choice you'd have to make. But why charge after something you can't yet see? Fate has made mistakes when it just...pops out. So please be calm dear, we will have the time together if you choose to stay and take up the position as guard. It would also give you time to train...Xeldine.By how she's acting...she needs you more then ever Orcleous." Looking up at him, her smile would falter a bit as she began to remember what had just happened. Letting out a sigh, she began to explain while now looking down. "She told me she hates me greatly and wanted to chop me up. She had took out her sword and explained that she didn't because my blood would make her blade filthy. That once I make mistake that will cause you to leave...." Not finishing the rest, she just stopped talking while looking down at the dirt road. But her eyes would begin to scan the area as the feeling of more eyes on them creeped up her back making her to shiver a bit. Claira looked at his chest and said, "It seems that I've made things here worse Orcleous." Wrapping her arms around him, she would hold onto him tightly.

"Pshaw, that girl", spoke Orcleous as he heard Claira speak about Xeldine. Orcleous was not a idiot. He knew she liked him, but as he said before there relationship was not going that way for him. Orcleous however knew where all this was coming from. Xeldine always had a fearsome tong on her, so the insults where common. However the fact that he thoughts immediately moved to the sword was probably his fault. Since the two meet Orcleous had been telling her to channel her anger toward her blade. It was a good way for him to adapt with situation so naturally he passed it over to her. Now she was reacting to anger with violence, which was not a good habit to have. Even still Orcleous was happy she did not actually attack Claira. She had some restraint. "I am going to have to have a talk with her", spoke Orcleous as he moved to rub the back of his head. Feeling the headband Orcleous took it off and placed it into his pocket.
On the other side of the dark alleyway Xeldine played nice. She was walking her beat when she came upon the two talking and her own emotions made her stop. Because of that she was not held up by a brigand with her own sword. Despite her agreeing attitude a fearsome stair filled Xeldines eyes. She looked into the man's eyes as he made demands and made it clear that she was not as scared as he thought.
"So you want to know about the blonde women I take it", spoke Xeldine as she looked at the man. While the man held the sword at Xeldine's throat the maiden moved her left hand toward the bottom of her armor. Just bellow her belt line she kept a few throwing picks. They where small and inconspicuous enough that she was sure he would not have noticed. Especially since he came from behind her.
"Let me guess you are looking for a women who use to be a exslave right. She has a raven brand on both her back and her chest and has blonde hair. If that is the women you seek then you best turn around and head to the inn behind you", spoke Xeldine as she motioned her right hand up in a pointing manner. The moment the man turned his head Xeldine quickly pulled her hand down and grabbed onto the blade. Gripping the sword around the edge of the blade and not the blade itself, which she thanked Orcleous for showing her, she then pulled the sword forward and moved toward her left side. With this motion she let the blade slam into the stone and attempted to throw one of her throwing picks at his eye.

As he turned his head, the female grabbed the blade and pulled it. Once she started to pull it, he let go of the handle and brought his shield up. Both the sword and the picks made loud noise once on contact of either stone or shield. Taking his shield, he would ram her into the wall. Then reaching down for her and grabbed her. With little effort, he threw her out into the street. Taking out his Greatsword, Rat walked out into the street and looked at the three of them. "I gave you a choice you now choose your death little guard...and as for you punching man. Where's Raven at? I want her now!" Lifting up his shield aimed at them and had the blade of his sword resting on top of of it aimed. "Tell me where she I...Oh! I guess you are here Raven" The Thief looked at the rat in surprise. She drew out her daggers with the man standing there ready o stroke or to be struck.
Claira examined the man and saw the rat brand. "He's trained for brutal snatch and grabs...a Rat he is. Xeldine, since this doesn't concern you...I'll deal with him since he wants me. Orcleous, get her out of here if she doesn't leave...please..." Hunching down a bit, she had to prepare herself. The man began to laugh as he said. "That's right Raven...think about your training....call upon your demons Raven. Show me what you got." Growling out loud, she ran for him. With how big his sword was and where he had the shield positioned, she had to get around them. His sword slid forward at her.Spinning out of the way, she thn went for him again, this time she was in strike range of her daggers and his shield. He would shove his shield into her when she was close. The impact got her in her chest making her ribs blast her insides with extreme pain. Making her fall to her knees. Rat would lift his sword slam it down at her. Hearing him shift, she rolled to the side and took one of her daggers and rammed it down into his foot when his sword impaled where she was. Screaming in pain, Rat would smack her across the face making her fly. Landing hard, Claira rolled a bit as the pain throbbed inside her harder and harder.
Standing up, she had her other dagger left. The Rat yanked out the dagger and slowly marched after her with a limp. His focus was now solely on her. He didn't pay any attention to the others. His grip on his sword was tight enough that his reaction speed was now a bit higher.

"What the", spoke Orcloeus as he saw Xeldine fly into the street. The moment she hit the ground her longsword flew out of her hand and bounced on the stone street. Coming from the darkness was a man holding both a greatsword and a shield. It was a great sign of strength and power to combine the two of them, but it was a poor choice. The first thing that came to Orcleous mind was the amount of time it would take for him to swing that sword of his. Even if he had the power the length of the blade alone would make it difficult. Before Orcleous could answer the man or Xeldine rearm herself he started to spit out stuff about Raven.
"Oh so you are one of those" spoke Orcleous. The Champion moved to touch his sword on his hilt, but before he could move Claira sprung into action. Barking out orders she told the Champion to get Xeldine and get her out of here, but that was not going to happen. Orcleous knew how damage she was and he knew letting her fight this man would be a bad idea. She already hurt herself earlier running here and now she was about to enter into battle. Xeldine could handle herself. Orcleous was going to hae to take the center stage, or at least he thought that.
"Son of a #$%^", shouted Xeldine as she grabbed her sword and charged back in like a reckless idiot. The maiden had her own pride and this man had greatly insulted it. "Hey Rat man", she shouted grabbing the man's attention. The maiden brought down her steel longsword aiming to cut right down the man's shoulder. Her attack however forced him to turn and block her.
Looking at the situation Orcleous decided that he was going to sit back and watch. The two of them seemed like they could handle it, and Orcleous wanted to see how much had Xeldine improved since he left. Before he left her in the village that throw into the street would have done her in. Now however she was getting back up and striking again. He was not sure what drove her to get better, but he could see the results. The maiden attacked with a ferocity he could only see in his own swordplay. She was truly a quick learner.

The Rat swung his shield around, blocking the red haired maidens attacks. "You got a good fire in you...you'd be a good bear. If properly trained. That's if you survive." When she came back down with a vertical slash, Rat slanted his shield a bit and thrusted it at the Xeldine's blade. The sudden impact caused her sword to bounce backwards. With the sudden opening, he'd swing the greatsword aiming to hit her at her waist. Claira had to buy her time. Running at him, she brought the curved dagger back. Lunging at him, she swung her right arm aimed at his back. The dagger pierced into his ribs. Yanking the blade out, the thief would leap back. Yelling heavily, he looked at Claira. "Now...you die last!" Picking up her other dagger, he'd charge after Xeldine first. Swinging like a wild animal. Using both his shield and sword like they were part of him. If he kept up his assault then Xeldine was going to get injured. Claira made her choice.
"S$@#!"Claira thought then just ran for him again. But this time, she just collided into him. Both of them fell and rolled on the ground. His sword knocked out of his hand. Claira rolled further then the rat. Wrapping her arms around her ribs, she curled up into a ball. Her mouth opened, but no sounds came out. Shooting dust off the road as she tried to breath. Rat was stunned at what happened. Slowly getting up, he now went after Claira with her one dagger. Grunting a bit as his face was bright red with anger. His eyes were narrowed and went after the thief who was down. Using one arm, Claira would begin to pull herself on the ground. Watching him get closer. Taking her last dagger, she would throw it at him. The blade got him in the right chest. Now, he jumped onto her with his left hand gripping the thiefs throat. Orcleous would see him raise the blade over his head. Reaching up, she grabbed the weapon that stuck out of his chest and began twisting the blade. Her vision began to go in and out as the last thing she saw was him bringing the dagger down.

At first Orcleous simply watched the fight. Xeldine held her own and he was sure when she jumped in that the two would end the fight quickly. However this... rat, they where calling him, seemed to be stronger than Orcloeus thought. He fought with ferocity and power and his assault beat back both of the women. To make it worse he seemed to be throwing off his stab wounds like a while beast. It soon came clear to Orcleous that he was going to have to step in and end this. It was a miscalculation on his part and if he did not hurry the two of them where going to pay the price.
Seeing a opening Orcleous rushed in to end the fight. The Champion was not wearing his armor so he did not have to worry about it slowing him down. At the same time he did not have Xigshaw, the weapon he probably would have used but most definitely should not have used, so he was not held down by its weight either. Crossing the space quickly Orcleous drew his new longsword. With a quick sweeping attack he choped off the man's hand as he rose to stab the maiden with his attack. "Hands off my girl", he spoke as he kicked the man in the chest. The force of the kick knocked him into the ground.
"Finish him", spoke Orcleous as he placed his magical longsword back into its sheath and picked Claira up in his arms. This was the second time she strained herself today. The road to recovery was going to be long and from what Orcleous could tell he was going to need to be more vigilant now. The fact that one of the slavers got into this village told him much. This city was not safe, or at least not safe with this level of guards. They where going to need to up there patrols. Mordor's guard force had gotten lazy.
Walking over to the man Xeldine stabbed her sword into his throat as she watched Orcleous pick the thief up in his arms. The sight ticked her off and as a result she twisted the blade to make sure the job was finished. "Orcleous", she spoke, but the Champion cut her off.
"Xeldine, tell the guard captain what happened and bring Claira's stuff in the Inn back to the house", he spoke. Orcleous had deemed the inn now unsafe and figured it would be better to have Claira looked at from his family home. He should have done this sooner, but he came complacent. Complacency nearly got his girlfriend killed. After walking her back to the family farm Orcleous sent his brother out to get the doctor. He preyed that nothing was worsen by this recent attack.
