When he heard the boy was the leader Piggy laughed a little on the inside. Actually a lot. Well better the boy than the girl. The boy seemed way more trusting. "We should get away from the fire before some fat, ugly bandit comes and sees us. And where do you guys plan on going. Are you outcasts just running away from someplace particular."
Papilion was an outcast too because it was becoming common knowledge that his uncle kicked him out for not believing in Elime.
After grunting several times and after awhile he finally got back on his horse.

Errol continued in the direction he had seen the smoke rising from. Even as he concentrated on reaching his destination, he considered his next move. 'If I'm lucky enough to find allies who'd be willing to help me, what then? I hadn't even considered what I'd do after leaving Delphia... perhaps I could really go to one of the neighboring countries and join the opposition to Etruria that has surely formed by now. But then there's the question of which one...'
He as distracted from his thoughts by a sudden snap behind him. Turning back, he saw a group of three brigands a few trees behind him, clearly following him. 'Oh blast!' By now Errol was very close to the fire he was looking towards, but he had also led these bandits right to it.

Jya took back her short sword and stood into a fighting post. She swore that something other than an animal is near, there was definitely a sound off in the distance. Perhaps it was the experience with working with bandits that made her so high strung almost all the time.
"I'm not made for being a leader, if there is any tip I can give you...just don't trust me." she told Gabriel. Truthfully she didn't trust anyone, but the cleric she practically worshiped five years back.

Errol rushed into a clearing and stopped to size up the people gathered there. The most noticeable one was an unbelievably fat man on a very underfed horse. A black haired girl in green seemed ready for a fight with her sword ready. Completing the trio was a red haired boy with no weapons visible (another magic user perhaps?).
Errol turned back the way he came to face the bandit in the lead. "Heh. You really think hiding in the woods would save ya, city boy?" the brigand taunted, "We live here. O' course we know how to get around in it." "Leave." Errol said coldly, "I have nothing of value for you." "Well what can I tell ya? It's a harsh world out here. If all you can give us is target practice, then we'd be fools to not take the chance." the enemy said, readying his axe. Errol followed suit by adopting a casting stance. He had little choice but to stand and fight, whether the three travelers would assist him or run was their own choice, he would not force them to his aid.
(Heh. The bandits want our exp. points)

After seeing Jya go into a fighting stance, Piggy looked back and noticed a mage being attacked by three bandits. This was a scary sight for Papilion. "Aaaaahhh!" he screamed very high for a guy. He then proceeded to ride and cower behind Gabriel.

The bandit leader leapt into the air, coming down axe-first where Errol had been standing a second ago. The mage took another step back and summoned a fireball which rocketed forward and hit the brigand in the chest. Meanwhile, the other two stepped out of the cover of the trees and considered who to go after first. One decided to try to rush the girl, the other decided the lump on the horse would be an easy fight.

Jya frowned, how troublesome, the bug guy wasn't much of any use, but at least he looked tough. Thats one trait that keeps you alive in the world. As the other man charged with his axe, she managed to dodge one of the swings and punched the guy under his chin. She didn't think if she should kill or not, but oh, somehow killing became much more entertaining and disturbing at the same time. Besides, survival of the fittest! That was how the world always been.
The punch recoiled the man and perhaps surprised him as well.
"Humph, little girl, do you have any idea who you're messing with?" he asked trying to be intimidating. Taking the advantage of his ego, Jya managed to get a stab in the left arm. That got her a kick in the stomach and she practically went flying. Used to the pain, she quickly got back up, knowing every second counted, once again charging.

Gabriel stood up right after Jya did. Whether there were bandits or not, he needed to be ready. And so, four men appeared from the depths of the forest. A mage, from the looks of it, chased by three bandits.
Great. Just what we needed.
"The hell!?" Gabriel reacted as soon as Papillion hid behind him. "What are you doing!?" he asked desperately. Then, he saw Jya being knocked back by one of the bandits. Another one had just gone around them, ready to charge at Papillion, while the one that seemed to be their leader fought against the mage.
"It's now or never!" Gabriel said, taking out his magic tome, gathering all his strength and concentrating on a single point, just as the teachers back at magic school had taught him.
"Oh, spirits commanding the fires of hell, bring forth thy flame!" he shouted, as a real fireball was shot from his hand right to the face of the bandit that had attacked Jya. "Yeah! I did it!" he said rather cheerfully for such a gloomy moment. Hopefully, 'Piggy' behind him would be able to defend himself.

Jya's opponent was knocked over with quite a bit of fire. 'Ouch, that must have hurt.' she thought. As the man laid sprawled over on his back, she approached cautiously at first. Here left eye started to twitch, there was a slight movement of the hand, getting down close she checked for a pulse, few seconds past and there was a heartbeat. Now here comes the final question...kill or not to kill? She wasn't sure if any of them were used to seeing dead bodies, than again why does she care about them?
In the moments of deliberation against one-self, the man almost chopped her head off, as she practically jumped off from reflexes. The blade grazed her neck and only left a thin cut, even so it left an uncomfortable minor wound. He charged again, at her, axe at hand, she couldn't dodge, knowing he would be just as satisfied with going after Gabriel. Again, why did she care? Ducking the initial swing, she made a large gash at the man's leg, tripping him. With one final swoop, she charged down, her short sword aimed at the bandit's exposed neck.
(OOC:This might be one of your guy's chance to stop her from killing this bandit person. Sorry Gabriel for ruining your pure noble image or something like that...)

"Great, this is just great!" he muttered as a bandit charged him. Knowing he couldn't do anything but fight he finally brought his lance in a battle position as well. The bandit came from the side and struck for Papilion and missed him only because his horse backed away involuntarly.
Unfortunately Papilion didn't expect his horse to jump back and lost his balance off his horse. Fortunately the bandit charged Piggy again instantly after he missed and moved right on the spot Piggy was about to land.
"Arrggh" the bandit screamed after who knows how many pounds landed on him.

Errol and the bandit leader glared at each other. Judging from the sounds of battle behind him, and the scowl on his opponent who was facing it, Errol figured that the travelers were putting up a good fight. Still, he had to make his next move count before the leader got a lucky hit in.
Errol dashed around the brigand so he was facing the thug's side, and was out of leaping range, and sent another burst of fire his way. Hopefully the bandit wouldn't be strong enough to cut him down with one blow once he managed to cross the few yards between them...

Jya's sword cut through the bandit's neck as if it were butter, sending small burst of blood everywhere. Gabriel stood back to avoid being splashed all over and took a quick glance around him. One of the bandits was down, a second one was being crushed by Papilion. Literally. And then there was their leader, still fighting against the mage that had got them into this mess to begin with.
The newcomer showed much more skill at the arts of anima than Gabriel did, even though they both seemed to be of roughly the same age. Reason enough to impress him, even if only for a little while.
After staggering for a second or two after Errol's last hit, the bandit leader decided to charge at the mage. If no one did a thing the newcomer was done for. This was it. One more time...
"Fire!" Gabriel shouted, only managing to come up with a few sparks, but even that may have been able to distract the bandit long enough for someone to get a hit in.
Just don't come my way now...Please

The distraction was enough for Jya to charge towards the leader, using her speed as the force. It knocked him over before he could swing the axe at the mage. She also managed to get a good stab through one of his ribs. However her luck soon ran out as he grabbed her hand that was over the blade. Now she can't let go, but that doesn't mean she can't fight back. She had learned in time of many desperation techniques. Opening her mouth she bit the man's shoulder. The taste of blood filled her mouth once again, at least it wasn't her own blood this time.

'Time to finish this.' While the brigand was occupied with the thief, Errol Ran behind him and sent one last fireball rocketing at the back of his neck. The magic fireball burned through his spine, leaving him falling backwards at Errol's feet. Dead, of course.
"That's the end of that," he breathed in relief, "Looks like we were lucky." He then looked around and spoke up. "Are you all alright?"

"I...I guess so" Gabriel said, still shaking a bit from the experience. He never had the chance to use his magic in combat, so this was a first for him. He was kind of happy on the inside, though. This was actually the second time in his life that he had managed to form an actual fireball. The first...he swore to forget about long ago.
"Who are you, and why were these bandits following you?" he suddenly asked the newcomer. Today was quite the busy day for a forest in the middle of nowhere.
