Saffra could hear the flapping of wings even before they were upon her, but to see the dragon fill the sky as he did, was still shocking. Saffra's demeanor was more clam that she would have known. Her eyes opened a bit, then softened as the dragon's body filled her view, blocking the sun and making it easier for her. Her wings flexed for a moment, if uneasily, but then opened wide and at full wingspan.
"Child..?"
Saffra tsked quietly to herself. By her age, she was no child, and was just barely considered an adult...but this one...she knew he was older...had to be. She shook her head and embraced her dragonstone tightly within her hand, but didn't draw on its power to change into her dragon form, instead, with her wings, she flew up somewhat close to his eye level but stayed just below, as if not to challenge him.
"Acting foolish? How do I do so, is it perhaps because of the fact they know what I am openly?"
She didn't want to sound offensive, but her question may come off as such. Where she had been raised, regarding your elders was of great importance, it wasn't a good idea to start being disobediant now...

Chelsea wiped her eyes quickly on her headband as she heard footsteps approaching. She looked up to see Kelvin approaching. She gave him a weak smile at his question and shook her head. "Not at all." She was surprised how soft her voice sounded, a result of her crying. She hoped he wouldn't notice that her eyes were red. Before she could say anything else, a huge roar went up from back in camp and she jumped. "W-what was that...?"

Kelvin had just sat down and was about to talk when a loud noise rang out. He leaped to his feet. "What was that?" He looked back towards the camp but could see nothing. "I can't see anything. Can you?" Kelvin strained his eyes a little harder, but still couldn't see. "What do you think we should do?" he said, looking her in the eyes.

The roar made Yaen's cheerful expression turn to one of stunned silence. His eyes went blank as he stared at the dragon in an almost trance-like manner. After a few moments, he recovered, and his hands instantly flew to his wyrmslayer, brandishing it without a moments notice. A bead of sweat ran down his face as he just stared at the dragon, swallowing visibly.

Chelsea stood up too, hoping that maybe her archer's eyes might be of some help, but sadly they weren't. "I can't see anything either..." She noticed her feet wouldn't move. Was she really that scared? "I-I don't know..." She wanted to run over there, where all her friends were and make sure they were safe. But at the same time, she didn't want to meet whatever made that noise. "I... I-I..." She was afraid.

Kelvin knew that whatever was in the camp, it wasn't friendly. And while he wanted to face it, he wanted to make sure Chelsea wasn't harmed in any way. "I don't know if we should go down there. Whatever it is, it sounds mean, and I don't want you to get hurt. But we also can't leave our friends to die. Whatever you decide though, I just want you to know, I'll be by your side." Kelvin gave her a small smile.

Rayl had taken off. Left them all behind. maybe he'd flee to the village he helped Matis build in Sacae...yes, that would be good...be away from everything...peaceful...
And then he heard it. The roar...THE ROAR! The roar that had soon been followed by fire. FIRE! EVERYWHERE!
But at the same time, Rayl heard Barigan's voice, and this calmed him down, to the point he and Elibe exchanged a look, before turning abruptly around, and charged back to the others...and soon the arrived, and the dragon...there was no doubt. He grabbed his shield, but did not ready his lance, as he took a deep breath, shouting out to the dragon and the heavens above,
"AERIOUS! DRAGON OF OLD! YOU FLY TO US NOW, FOR WHAT REASON?" the closer he got, he got quieter, until he was finally with the others. This dragon...here...why? Fire? FIRE?!

Aerious was about to respond to Saffra when he noticed the Wyrmslayer drawn out. He made a backhanding motion with his claw, as if to slap Yaen away.
"Rat of Hanon! Have you forgotten what it means to fear us?!" He roared, before turning back to Saffra.
"You see? Humans fear us, humans persecute us, and humans will kill you. If you wish to live among them, as you wish, but maintain your secrecy child, there is a reason we hide ourselves. A 'witch' running around in the lands of Roland with the mark of the dragon has reached me all the way in the Grand Desert, you will draw far more attention then I, and far less pleasant I promise you. Perhaps one who wants your hide or blood, or the true treasure you carry. Or perhaps they simply fear their pathetic mortal enemies using your power."
He glanced around the company. "This form is too tiring..." He rumbled, as his body seemed to fall away into a storm of lightning and reform into a rather humanoid shape.
"Why do you think our ancestors devised the ability for us to take this form? The world of humans is no place for a dragon to walk openly."
At the shout of his name, Aerious turned to the cavalier, and blinked twice.
"You know me...well enough to have learned my true name...there are very few mortals who can claim to know that...and you are neither Sacaen nor The Wyvern Rider." He glanced at the symbol of Bagian on his shield, and growled.
"If you seek to address me boy, you'd be wise to put away that eyesore...I've had more then enough trouble from that man's legacy."

The archer took a deep breath. "We have to go back. Like you said, we can't leave our friends out there to be hurt." She looked up at him, a resolute look in her eyes. She thought of her friends once more and that sealed. "Let's go..." With that, she finally got her legs to move and started off cautiously back to camp.

Kelvin nodded, and headed towards the camp keeping pace with Chelsea. They arrived at the camp, but found no sign of any beast. They moved towards the spot where a group of people stood. He could see Rayl and the dragon woman, plus a third person he didn;t recognize. "I wonder made that noise," he said to Chelsea. "Come on, let's check it out."

Yaen's eyes widened as the dragon turned its eyes on him. Not here, not now! He wasn't ready to fight something like this yet! He couldn't even make himself move as it swung at him. He felt a powerful impact, then the feeling of flying, and then he landed on something. He wasn't sure what it was, but it was covered in metal. He was too zoned out to realise it was a man. The only thing he could think of was irony. Five years ago, he'd been mercilessly beaten by humans for defending a manakete, and now a manakete just mercilessly beat him for preparing to defend himself if neccessary. Where was the justice?

Chelsea nodded and slowly inched forward. Her eyes darted around the camp, making sure everyone was ok. Karina? check. Gabriel? check. Saffra? check. Rayl? check. Wait, Rayl? "It's Sir Rayl! He's back!" She turned to Kelvin. "When did he return?"

Rayl looked Aerious right in the eyes, matching the fiery glare of his own, before tossing the shield to the side," I seek not to harm you like the two whom thou hath mentioned, Aerious of Dragonkind." he dismounted, and walked forward, his legs shaking just slightly at first, before nothing was left: no fear, as he unsheathed his sword, and dropped it near his shield," You may not believe me, and I know full well why you would not."
You could hear the shouts of soldiers as they began preparing for a potential battle with the mighty creature, but he soon shouted out to them to stay where they were: they could do nothing against Aerious," My nomadic friend, stand down: steel and claw are not the answer to everything." this was addressed to both parties, " Now look here, Mighty Aerious, and I pray what I say does not fall upon deaf ears: you believe that mankind and dragonkin cannot amend from the past, and yet here Lady Saffra is with us: humanity. She is a dear friend of mine, and of the people of Pherae. While there may be people who may wish her ill, she will always have a home amongst my kinsmen. I know that this too you will not believe, but it is the truth."

Kelvin was about to respond to Chelsea's question when something hit him, which he was pretty sure was a man. Kelvin wasn't really hurt, just knocked down. The man rolled off of him and Kelvin stood up. "I wasn't aware that Rayl had returned. It sure is good to see him back though."

Saffra's eyes widened as she too, saw the Wyrmslayer. She knew full well what that blade had been for, having seen one of it's kind once. She gave a small shiver as Aerious attacked Yaen, but nothing more. She listened softly, and felt her heart sink a bit, knowing well what people have said over the hundreds of years she had been among the world...there were people who sought that kind of thing. She too, took and landed near Aerious, and allowed her wings to disappear, feeling a touch embarrassed.
When she heard Rayl's voice shout out the name "Aerious" she then understood...so this was the dragon whom attacked Bern...the dragon she was blamed for...she would have been angry...but she could not understand what the attack had been for, and wouldn't jump to any conclusions. Her eyes went to Rayl, and was a little surprised to see he was even back.
"Rayl..?"
She looked to the group of people, an suddenly felt so alienated for some reason. She kept her ground, but she wanted to move closer to one of her own kind, for comfort in kinship. As Rayl spoke, she looked a bit determined. What Aerious had said was true...there were those who wanted harm to her...but she didn't want to be afraid...she was no coward...
"I...know why...I just don't want to hide what I am, I am tired of shielding what I am to human eyes. Let them fear me, let them hate me, I am, what I am...and if one has a problem with that, then I would destroy them before they destroy me.."
