((This takes place right when Synkkis leaves his hometown for Sacae.))
In the grim and frostbitten forest surrounded with mountains of southern Ilia, a local man stumbled through the cold. His fingers and toes were numb and stiff. He trudged through the knee-deep snow with the harsh wind whipping his eyes and the unforgiving freezing temperatures penetrating his body. He was masked by a red bandana and a purple hooded cloak that flew about with the wind. His eyes watered and blurred his vision.
He didn't care.
Everything inside of him cried for the comforts of home. Family, friends... Everyone. Everything. He had been out in the wilderness for two weeks now. The death of his sister, Audri, was too much for him to take. He had to escape. He couldn't take the pain anymore.
Resting up against a snow-covered tree trunk, Synkkis Nil Kyyneltya could see his village of Talvikyla. His aching and shivering body burned into a primal desire to get inside immediately. He slowly made his way down the mountainside towards his home.
Home... The familiar. It felt like ages since he had seen everyone. Everything here. Nearly crawling through the snow, Synkkis finally reached the back entrance of the house he grew up in. He made his way silently into his room, where he found a package laying on his bed. He lit a candle, which illuminated his room dimly.
--timeskip--
As he had packed everything he needed to journey on and escape into the night, his head swelled. Should he stay? Go? What about Alaric? Olivia? They'd be messes without him. He was practically the rope that held his siblings together when things got rough. How could he leave?
After a few minutes of mental debate, Synkkis walked out of his home. The wind died and all was silent and still. He looked towards the mountains. The sky began to warm into a purple as the first signs of dawn ran across the heavens. Alaric was probably at a friend's house... Maybe he left. He didn't know. It didn't matter.
