"I was the same way once, but when I went to get revenge, something happened. I'm a bit foggy on the details, but I remember falling asleep for a long time. A couple years even. When I awoke I found out that the people I had been with already took their own revenge on the bandits. I'm sure that you aren't too young to remember that awful war more than five years ago."
The bandit war always seemed to be a bad subject to bring up with people, so Ralph decided not to dwell on it too long. "I was upset that I wasn't around to do my part, but I felt alright knowing that true heroes had done the job."
And now... he thought to himself, I can never be a hero, can I?

Vadim nodded. ”I do remember it, it’s part of why I got into fighting when I came of age. You say you slept for years? Were you hit on the head maybe?” Vadim asked managing to pull his lance free of the stump he had got it stuck into. ”I haven’t been home in months, maybe I should there soon and see my parents. Dad will be fit to be tied, knowing that I left the city without telling them.” Vadim sighed, speaking mostly to himself. ”So, Ralph, shall we look for your friend before night comes? Or do you think he’ll be back on his own?”

"I don't think I was hit on the head..." Ralph said, uncertain of himself. "The sleep came over me slowly I think, not all at once."
He scratched the back of his head. He hadn't really thought about the subject for a few years. Maybe he hadn't forgotten so much as he never really bothered to look back. If only he could see, maybe that would retrigger his memories.
Suddenly, his thoughts turned to what he was currently dressed in. He didn't even know what color the clothes Jya had picked out were. Ralph's only specification was that it wasn't red because of the poster's description.
"Oh, Caecus?" Ralph replied. "There's no use 'looking' for him. He'll see me long before I see him. I just hope that my dress change has made him confused."

"So I'll just go in, I'll go in and say. 'Dad, I'm back. I don't care how disappointed you are. Wait, but, yeah. I know dad but... I suppose... Yeah you're right.'" He muttered to his self, walking ahead blindly and fighting with some imaginary figment inside his imagination. Also losing to it. He headed down the road, looking at the cobblestone beneath his feet, worn from years of wear and use. He gestured wildly in the air, talking hushedly as if someone was listening closely to every word he said. His syllables hanging with a distinct regret to them, this was not going well at all.
Not far away from where the mage rambled quietly to his self, a solid steel grey steed watched almost curiously. He found something interesting in the mage's demeanor and the fact that he ran every time the horse got close. Along with all the shouting and yelling that made him more funny then scary.
"Alright, I understand. You're right. I'll... Wait." He suddenly stopped, taking a look around. Something was missing, the soft clip clop that became as natural as his heartbeat as he marched forward. He turned around, looking more and more frantic by the second. "But, what, wait, how?" Dragging a hand up his forehead, pushing the wild red hair up as he stared in disbelief. "WHERE DID THE ROAD GO!?"
It was no where in sight, anywhere. No sign of anything, civilization or other wise just what in the how? Wait there was people over there! Salvation! He hurried as fast as his little mage legs could carry, trying to get closer. He stopped suddenly, looking at the trio, Elias appearing as if he just smelled something most foul. His nose upturned, his face scrunched in disgust. Green[/b]. Wait, no, Elias stop that. You're being dumb. You aren't an elitist anymore, but it's green! It's just soo.... greeen. Green was the arch enemy of red, Elias was sickened every time he looked in the mirror at his horrendous eye of a monster. Still... He pulled his new WHITE cloak tightly around his self and tried to shake out the malcontents.
"Excuse me!" Walk don't run... "I seem to have... wandered off the road. Do either of you know where it is? I can't find it anywhere. I was on it just a minute ago and now I have no idea where I am."

A new comer arrived, it seemed that Ralph wasn't the only lost one out here. "Hello there." he called out, waving his arm. Ralph just noticed that he had subconsciously tied his red blindfold to his arm, now how did that get there? He knew that it had some significance in his past, so maybe his subconscious was telling him to keep it close to him? Well, that was a good place for it anyways. If his glasses ever broke he would need that as a replacement.
"I'm a lost traveler as well. This young man said that we were near Laus and we were thinking of heading there soon if you wanted to join us." Ralph stood up from the tree he was under and looked at where the voice had come from, doing his best to not appear blind.

[OOC: welcome ] Vadim nodded when Ralph said that there was no need to look for his companion, the bird would find him easily enough. ”Fair enough.” He added, remembering that his nod would not be seen. Before anymore could be said another young traveler came into view, also lost. Vadim couldn’t help a small laugh to himself, was everyone lost today? Ralph answered first and the recruit looked to the newcomer and nodded. ”Aye, I can help you get back to the road, stranger. You aren’t too far off but the trees are thick, I only know the way since I grew up around here and I come to this spot often. Sit and rest if you wish first though, otherwise I suppose we can go if you are both ready.” Vadim said, standing and picking his lance up, laying it across his shoulder until he got an answer.

"Near Laus? LAUS! But I'm headed to Ostia! How on Elibe did I wind up in Laus! That's complete lunacy! I blame the horse! Stupid horse, I told you to stop following me I HATE YOU YOU HEAR! Now... Now I'm in Laus, perfect." He fumed screaming at the steed, who was hiding and was no where to be found. Made him look crazy...er. Suddenly he looked as if he was struck with a bolt of lightning. Hastily he dug in his bag and returned with a thick tome. Looking at it for a moment. "Oh. OH. I forgot, Laus is on the way to Ostia. Nevermind then. Yeah I'll come along."
"I'm Elias, by the way. The Cri- The mage. Just the mage. Nice to meet you."

"The name's Ralph, Elias THE Mage." he said, grinning. He wasn't sure why Elias had said that, but if it riled him up, it would be fun to tease him about it.
"So, what's this about a horse, and why has he been trouble?" Ralph had always just assumed that most people got to places faster with horses. He was fast on his feet, so he'd only ridden a horse like once. Maybe? The memories were foggy once again...

[OOC: Sorry for the delay :/]
Vadim placed a hand over his mouth to hide the grin there as the newcomer went off on a small rant when he was told where he was. When he blamed a horse Vadim glanced around, what horse? Wow this man needed to calm down some, blaming a horse that wasn’t even there. He did finally figure out though that Laus was on the way to Ostia and decided to come along. ”I’m Vadim.” He replied with a curt nod, leaning back on a tree while waited to see what their next move was.
Ralph questioned about the horse and Vadim grinned. ”Aye, this horse seems to have caused you a great deal of trouble.” He said, now unable to stop his grin from appearing, too funny. Vadim had never ridden a horse, never really wanted to either, it’s not that he didn’t like them, he just wasn’t interested. "If and when you two are finished talking, shall we head out?"

((OoC: If you'd like, I don't mind. It'll give Ralph a chance to show off his class changed power.))
"Horses are the hands of the devil, or whatever evil demonic being that Elminites worship. Or hate. I forget. Still, beings of the void that have wormed their way into our society as 'friends' it sickens me." He crossed his arms with a small grumble of dissatisfaction. He let out a small sigh. "Well that isn't really important. The point is that this solid gray stallion has been stalking me ever since Sacae. It's weird, and a bit disconcerting because I swear he's laughing at me all the time but we all know that's impossible as horses don't have the mental capacity for anything that isn't being a dumb animal or committing horrible and evil deeds." Ruffling his own hair in irritation just thinking about it. "Stick around me a bit, you'll see it."
"Well, Laus is this way right? I used to live in Lycia." Yeah, he used to live here but he still got lost all the time. It's the map's fault.

Ralph stood and followed the sound of the two men's footsteps.
Elias had mentioned this horse, but Ralph couldn't smell any animal nearby. Horses are very easy to smell. "You used to live around here? Mind me asking where? My home is in Pherae, but I guess I can't go back there now..." he said with a sigh.
"Vadim, you're alright with leaving? I thought you wanted to practice some more?" Ralph didn't mind either way, he just needed to be sure that he wasn't moving too slow, or else the law would catch up.

~ Wow he talks a lot.~ Vadim thought of Elias as the man kept prattling on and on about how he became lost. Vadim glanced to Ralph when he said he couldn’t go home. ”Mind if I ask why that is?” He questioned. ”I’m from Lycia as well, Laus to be more precise.” He said as they started to walk, Vadim had his lance over his shoulder, making sure to know where it was so he didn’t hit either of the other two men. ”Hm? Oh, ya, I’ve had enough practicing alone, I need to find someone who can help me. Stabbing a stationary target with only self done injuries to know when you are doing it wrong doesn’t work for too long.” He replied, but it had a small grin and a light laugh to it. Vadim led them on through the trees until they were back to the main road again. ”Here we are… what the hell?”Ahead was a cloud of dust and it was coming closer and closer until a horse and cart appeared. It was thundering down the road as fast as the beast could run, but it was tiring and quickly. The old man on the cart waved at them to get out of the way as he spotted them and came closer. “Please, help me!” He cried and Vadim looked behind the cart to see what was following. Two more horses, two men on each, chasing the cart, swords and axes raised as they charged ahead. Vadim looked to his companions as the cart and its driver rolled past them. ”You two looking to help out?” If not, Vadim was out of there, he had a hard enough not hitting himself in a fight against a dummy target let alone four armed men on horses. If they both decided to fight Vadim would at least try to be helpful and not get in the way. [OOC: I gotta check this more often, you 2 are faster then I thought ]

"Well..." Ralph thought about how to approach the question without getting himself turned in.
Thankfully, a distraction. He concentrated his thoughts solely on the sounds. A horse pulling a cart, followed by two other horses. All were moving very fast. It wouldn't be long before they passed by the three men.
"Wait for it..." Ralph said, unsheathing his slim sword. The two horses were slowly gaining on the cart. Right as the cart passed them, Ralph ran forward and jumped into the two men on the nearer horse. The startled horse flung all three of them off of its back, and they tumbled onto the road.
Ralph leapt to his feet immediately, trying to regain his bearings. One of the men he had knocked down swung at him with some weapon, a sword, Ralph learned after blocking it. The two matched strike for strike for a short time, metal clanged against metal.

"Where am I from? Oh all over, we moved a lot. My dad's living in Ostia right now, so I'm headed there." He stopped for a moment and thought, then waved it off with a shrug. "He's a Druid, I mean he's not IN Ostia. It exploded. He lives in the area though for whatever reason, his name's Heath." He thought about it for a second, wondering if the whatever country they are soldiers would find him, but that was silly. His father was more then capable of taking out a few soldiers by his self, if things got too bad he would had left long ago.
Of course what he was talking about didn't prove very relevant, as it was quickly dropped with the advent of advancing BRIGANDS. The green cloaked man attacked one of the horrible creatures, oh and the Brigands. Aligning themselves with such monsters, he misunderstood just how despicable bandits could be. He thrust his arms out dramatically, his cloak billowing and flowing in response slowly settling over his outstretched arms. In his right arm was a tome of magic, as he gestured in the air and summoned it's arcane powers. The other horse thought it was soo good, so full of itself.
A sphere of flame was spontaneously combusted and launched itself as if from a ballista, and crashed into the earth in front of the other horse, it rearing back in fright and knocking the second of two riders off with a thud. Quickly Elias turned on the spot and change his position and another sphere quickly appeared and shot forward like a snake made of flame, wrapping around the grounded man and then exploding like any fire spell does. He was still living, but slow to get to his feet. Shooting Elias a horrid look, sans eyebrows, he picked his singed body off the ground and lost all focus on the fleeing civilian. He wanted to Axe this prissy mage in the face instead.

Good, they were up for it. Ralph led the charge by jumping at one of the horses, knocking off the riders. Ralph seemed more then capable of handling himself at the moment so Vadim watched as the mage did his thing, casting the fire about the bandits. Vadim looked back in time to see one of the bandits advancing on him. ~Uh oh.~ He thought and got his lance ready, just in case.
The man drew a sword and moved closer, but Vadim levelled his lanced and jabbed at the bandit. He backed away from the long slim lance once, then twice as Vadim jabbed at him again. But when the sword connected to the lance, Vadim, thankfully, did managed to hang to it, but it was easily knocked out of the bandit’s way. That allowed him to advance further making Vadim retreat backwards a few steps at a time. ”Ahaha, can’t we talk about this instead?”
“No.”
”Damn, thought as much.” Vadim sighed as he continued to step back and then yelp and roll aside when the attacker charged at him, and he lost his lance in the process. Now unarmed Vadim watched the man carefully. The man smiled and charged again, sword swinging in a wide horizontal arc.
Vadim rolled out of the way again, but he couldn’t keep this up forever. Upon stopping his dodge he found that his lance was by him again. Grabbing it, Vadim spun and managed to get lucky, finally. His lance found flesh, albeit not much, poking into the bandit’s left arm. He backed up, and a small trickle of blood started to slide down his arm. He looked at the hole in disbelief, while Vadim had a large smile on his face, before looking back to the requite and snarled. Vadim’s smiled disappeared quickly as the swordsman started to charge again.
