To take back all that was stolen, though those words sounded good the actual task was quite daunting. The Lowlander family was no longer even considered a noble house, and to make things worse Bern was now under the control of Ilia. That was not even his arduous of task. Euphemious still had to track down the Champion's Sword and restore it to its rightful place, and to cap off his troubles he had to muster up enough coin to rebuild Lowlander Hall. A daunting task for one so young and so far from the power his ancestor once held. None the less he was determined to do and he had his cousins Axe and Sword at his side, though he preferred more sturdy soldiers.
Euphemious and the rest of the trio descended from the ruins of Lowlander hall and made their way toward a nearby village. With the Lowlanders no longer in power the roads in this region of Bern had began to suffer greatly from disrepair, and from bandits. This area came quite known for bandit attacks and busted wagon wheels to the point many merchants simply avoided the pass. All the merchant towns in the area dried up leaving only small farming villages and very small mining operations. As the trio traveled the road their eyes were constantly fixed on the trees and the many bushes that lined the broken paths.
"Why are these roads in such disrepair", screamed Axe as the group made their way through a patch of tall grass. "Seriously", she continued to shout. "You think the Ilian would at least maintain the roads if they want to lay claim to Bern."
"Hey Axe", spoke Euphemious in a more controlled tone. "Did I not tell you to keep your voice down? This is bandit country and I don't feel like getting in a fight with a butch lowborn dregs." As Euphemious spoke Sword bobbed her head in agreement.
"Sorry about that Euphy", spoke Axe in a more moderate tone. Her words prompted an immediate twitch on Euphemious face. It was soon followed by a light chuckle from Sword.
"Don't...Call me that", spoke Euphemious attempting to control his anger.
"What", spoke Axe without realizing what had upset her cousin? "What wrong with calling you Euphy".
The knight’s eyebrow twitched again as the cursed word came out of Axe’s mouth once again. "Don't call me that", spoke the knight in a louder tone of voice. It was clear now to Axe that here words were bothering the burly man. "Euphy is an abbreviation to a girl’s name. My name is Euphemious, not Euphemia. Please do not call me that, or other people will think my name is Euphemia. Even though I am using a fake name I still have a reputation to keep", spoke the Knight as he walked in front of his cousin.
At that point Euphemious knew he had a very, and he ment very long journey ahead of him.

"Well well, what do we have here," spoke a voice. Euphemious turned around to see a half dressed man holding an axe behind him. From nearby bush three more men sprung out.
"Ambush", spoke Euphemious as he raised his shield. Axe and Sword turned their back towards there cousin and faced two other brigands.
"Thanks a lot Axe", spoke Sword as she stared at a bandit.
"Hay its not my fault", she replied only to be shot down by the Euphemoius.
"It is your fault", spoke the Knight. Without another word Euphemious charged forward leading the way with his shield. His sudden charge caught the bandits off guard. They were usually the ones who initiated the attack and especially so when it came to knights.
As Euphimous encroached on the first brigand he lowered his shield to attack with his lance. The brigand quickly dodged and counted with a slash of his axe, but the knight quickly raised his shield. Euphimous struck out once more with his lance, and like the last time the brigand dodged again. It was clear that he was not going to hit his target with his spear.
As the brigand struck out once more with his axe Euphimous timed his strike. The moment the axe touched his shield he deflected it with his right side and pulled his shield forward. The hunk of steel smashed into the brigands head giving the unwashed bandit a concussion. Immediately Euphemious stabbed forward piercing the abdomen of the bandit killing him in one shot.
On the other side of the battle field Sword and Axe engaged the other two brigands. Sword and axe took on the other two brigands. The first died quickly as Sword dodged his incoming blow and slammed her own axe into his spine. The second however had an advantage as the more passive Axe struggled to fight. Once after another the brigand swung his axe attempting to hit the maiden. Eventually Axe found an opening and attacked, but her cut was to shallow, and the brigand caught her with a counter attack.
"Time to die little missy", he shouted as he brought down his axe only to be cut in the back by Sword.
"Pathetic", she spoke as she helped axe off the ground.
"Damn", spoke the leader as he witness the quick dispatchment of his boys. Without another word he took off leaving the corpses of his men behind.
"Coward", shouted Euphemious as he tried to follow behind, but the weight of his armor keep him from keeping up.

Kenneth trotted up on Dinami, his horse, to the ruins of the castle. He hoped he could further his training at these ruins that maybe had bandits or monsters. Kenneth stopped and looked at the fallen castle.
Intimidating the squire thought. He urged Dinami forward into the ruins. He horse fought him a little. Kenneth rubbed his horse's neck.
"It's ok, buddy, let's get moving."
The duo trotted into ruins. Kenneth looked in awe at everything around him. This was a castle in ruin, but it still held so much splendor. Kenneth almost didn't feel Dinami tensing up a bit. He looked at his horse. His ears were pricked and he looked on edge.
"What is it," Kenneth asked when he heard shouting and the clanking of metal. He looked up and saw a man running with a knight in hot pursuit. The first man seemed more... evil, so Kenneth drew his lance and spurred Dinami. He charged the bandit, aiming his lance at his enemy's chest.

Immediately Euphemious noticed the squire charging with his lance. Another one he thought and immediately stopped his pursuit. If this was another bandit, than he may be running straight into an ambush. Nothing was worst than being surround by a bunch of axe crazed brigands. Even more so if one of them had a hammer. Euphimous did not want to damage his armor more than necessary.
The knight simply pulled off and watched the squire movements. If he was on his side he would engage the bandit, and if needed Euphemious would join in to help take down the creten. If he was a bandit however he would simply wait to he was near and impale him off his horse as he passed. It was all up to the squire.

The bandit was more focused on the knight and didn't notice Kenneth.
All the better for me the squire thought. Kenneth could use all the distractions he could get for his enemy. He hefted his lance and stabbed it right into the bandit's chest. Kenneth reared Dinami back as the bandit stopped short and gurgled, staring at the lance in his chest. Kenneth twisted and pulled it out. The bandit dropped to his knees and Kenneth slashed down with the lance to finish the job. The squire resheathed his lance and looked at the knight.
"Seemed you needed a little help there. Think we could talk and not kill each other?"

"So you are not with the brigands", spoke Euphemious as he lowered his lance. "Sorry for the rude introduction, but you can't be too sure around this area. I figured the craven would be leading me back to more of his men. When I saw coming over the horizon I assumed you were one of them. I am glad my assumption was wrong." As Euphemious finished talking he walked up to the corpse of the bandit and stabbed his lance through his skull. Better safe than sorry he always said even more so when it comes to bandits.
As Euphemious withdrew his lance Sword and Axe came over the horizon. It took them a minute to catch up as they were on the other side of the Battlefield. "Let me give you a proper introduction", spoke Euphemious. "My name is Euphemious, and the fair lady to the right of me is Sword.
"How are you doing", spoke Sword as she stopped catch her breath.
"And the lady to my right is Axe."
"Wow is that a horse", shouted Axe as she ran forward and began to examine the steed.
"Don't mind her childish behavior", spoke Euphemious as he placed his hand on her head stopping her from getting to close to the boy's hoarse.
"May I ask your name", spoke Euphemious with his usual stern expression.

Kenneth laughed, "I'm in no position to judge childish behavior being a child myself, but it's ok for her to stroke him . He's a big softie."
Dinami stretched his head towards Axe, begging to be stroked on his nose, "My name's Kenneth, and this is my friend, Dinami. I just left my home of Laus to further my training. I want to become a cavalier in Laus' army and someday, I want to be great knight or a paladin, I haven't decided yet."
Kenneth had ambitious dreams and he was determined to get there. That attack on Laus had had a very large effect and so had Captain Hagnar. He rubbed Dinami's neck.
"Shall we check for any more bandits?"

OC: Fill free to talk and interact with Sword and Axe as you please. Axe is childish and less serious. Sword is very serious and blunt.
BC: "Laus", spoke Euphimous with a bit of surprise. It was quite a way to travel especially for someone as young as Kenneth. "Came for the bandits I take it", spoke Euphemious as he pulled Axe away from the horse. "To tell you the truth this area has been overrun by them ever since the Lowlander family fell."
Sword looked up at Euphemious as he mention the House Lowlander. It was rare for him to talk about. Even rare for him to bring it up in front of strangers. "Well I say it is about time we did some cleaning", spoke Euphemious as he pulled on Axes hair.
The maiden struggled for a moment before breaking free of her cousin's iron grib. "If we are looking for bandits", spoke Sword as she pointed toward a pillar of white smoke. "Then I suggest that we head in that direction."
"Right", shouted Axe as she slammed her fist into her hand. "Time to hunts some bandits." In truth Euphemious wondered how she could be so cheerful about fighting, especially since she was the first to fold in a fight.
"Axe", spoke Euphemious as he held out her iron axe. The maiden had dropped her weapon when she posed and forgot to pick it back up.
"Yikes", spoke Axe as she rushed back to retrieved her weapon.
"I swear to god", spoke Euphemious as he led the way. "Don't mind us Kenneth", you can scout ahead if you want, but let me warn you not to engage the bandits without our backup. I don't drought your skill with horseback fighting, but remember the lance losses to the axe. It is always good to have another blade at your side."

"One could say I came for bandits," Kenneth replied,"I just happened by and saw the ruins. But it was good to meet you all."
He almost asked about this Lowlander family, but held his tongue when he saw Sword giving Euphimous a strange look. He puzzled over why he began pulling on Axe's hair and nudged Dinami forward enough so he was within Axe's arm. Kenneth nodded at Sword's suggestion.
"Good idea, miss," the squire said as he watched Axe pose and drop her axe. He stifled a laugh as she floundered when getting it. He looked back at Euphimous and nodded, "Well said. It would be good to scout and your suggestion is wise. I should bring someone. Miss Sword, would you like to come along? You would be a most valuable ally."
Kenneth extended his hand to the maiden.

"Oh", spoke Sword as a small blush crossed her face. "It looks like someone actually knows how to treat a lady."
"I hope that line was not directed toward me", spoke Euphemious. Sword turned around and gave him a smug grin.
"Maybe", she spoke before being interupted by Axe.
"No fair", she shouted in protest to Sword riding with Kenneth. "I want to ride on the horse."
"Silence Axe", spoke Euphemious cutting off Axe's winging. "You are the last person he should take with him. You would be to busy admiring the horse or dropping your weapon to guard him proper."
"It was one time", spoke Axe in an attempt to defend herself.
"One time that was a few seconds ago", spoke Sword as she took Kenneth hand.
"Come on", she shouted as Euphemious grabbed her hand and pulled her away from the horse.
"Come on Axe we have ground to cover. We can't let them get to far ahead of us", spoke Euphemious as he began to take the moving across the field heading for the pillar of smoke.

Kenneth helped Sword onto Dinami. A tingle ran through him as she wrapped her arms around his waist. He shook it off. Last time he had been distracted, he got a huge scar on his face.
"Hyahh," Kenneth shouted as he spurred Dinami out of the ruins. The horse ran out and galloped across the field. The smoke grew closer and closer, but the two came across a forest. Kenneth grumbled. Dinami could make a lot of noise going through there. He couldn't leave Dinami, though. Kenneth only knew horseback combat. He looked at Sword.
"We're going to need to be very quiet and pray that Dinami doesn't step onto to many sticks," he told her. He leaned down to Dinami, "OK, boy, try to be very quiet or else we're not going to need to be if we aren't."
Kenneth urged Dinami into the trees. They slowly walked along, but luckily Dinami seemed to be watching his step or found a path for his hooves to follow. They continued, Kenneth watching his horse's ears for signs of hearing something. Soon, Dinami's ears pricked up and he turned his head to the east. Kenneth looked over and guided Dinami to a clearing in the woods. He could see the bandits from the trees and he stopped his horse. He slowly lowered himself down from the saddle and helped Sword down. They quietly creeped up to the edge and watched the camp. Kenneth was glad he hadn't brought Axe along. She seemed clumsier than Sword. They stayed hidden in the bushes and viewed the camp. Five brigands, two soldiers, and three mercenaries. They say around the fire, laughing with one unhappy looking brigand guarding a bound and gagged person. The person looked feminine and young. Kenneth nudged Sword and motioned back to Dinami. The pair walked back to the horse and got on. They snuck out of the forest and galloped back to Euphemious and Axe. Kenneth reared Dinami when they got to them and he told them what he and Sword saw.
"We best get over there," Kenneth said as he turned Dinami, "We need to be quick, though, so you'll have to run, Euphemious. I'm sorry, but Dinami can't handle the weight of your armor, but he can still carry Axe."
He extended his hand to the maiden and smiled, "You can ride Dinami, now, just like you wanted."

"Hmm", spoke Euphemious as he heard Kenneth report. Kenneth spoke as if time was a major factor, but to Euphemious it did not seem so. This person he spoke of was gagged, and they had a bandit guarding them. This told Euphemious that they would be there for a while, or at least long enough for him to pull off a decent strategy.
"Yeah", shouted Axe as she rushed forward, only to be grabbed by Euphemious.
"Hold on a second", he spoke while staring at Kenneth.
"No fair Euphemious. It is supposed to be my turn to ride the horse."
"Quiet Axe", spoke Sword. "Can't you tell our cousin has something to say?"
"Thank you Sword", spoke Euphemious as he began to speak again. "Listen Kenneth from what you told me they it doesn’t seem like they are going to be moving anytime soon, and from the fact the person is bound and gagged tells me they not going to kill him. I know you want to rush in and save the person as quick as possible. I do to, but now is the time to employ some stratagem. Me and Axe will sprint over to the other side of the bandit encampment and grab the enemy’s attention."
"No fair Euphy", spoke Axe, but a death glare from Euphemious shot her down.
"At that point", he spoke ignoring Axes comment. "You and Sword rush in and saved the prisoner. Take the route you did last time. When you here the fighting the other bandits should move away. This would be the time to strike. Let Sword engaged the guarding bandit as your rescue the prisoner. Once that is complete join sword in finishing him off and move to ambush the other brigands in the rear flank. We can catch them by surprise and destroy them with a pincer attack.”

Kenneth nodded. Obviously this man knew his tactics. He turned Dinami towards they way they came.
"We'll wait for your signal," he told the knight. Kenneth spurred Dinami and galloped back to the forest. They reached the edge again and snuck back into the forest. Dinami followed the same path and soon they reached the clearing again. Kenneth had brought Dinami a little closer and drew his lance. They crouched in the bushes and waited.

"Come on Axe we have to move", spoke Euphemious as he began to sprint across the field. The lady brigand followed behind complaining the whole way. Euphemious arrived in front of the bandit encampment in twice the time it took Kenneth. A horse was a useful companion, and Euphemious took great note. He and Axe hid on the opposite side of a hill for a few minutes allowing themselves to catch their breath.
"Ok Axe", whispered Euphemious. "On the count of three we are going to rush over the hill and take out their sentinel. Once he is down we are going to let out a shout and begin to attack the others."
"Right", shouted Axe in usual cheerful manor.
"Hay, who goes there", spoke the bandit sentinel as he began to approach the hill.
Euphemious only stared at Axe, but his facial expression showed the intense anger that was building up inside of him. Immediately Axe moved to apologize. "Sorry Euphy", she spoke further angering her cousin. Unfortunately for the bandit he crossed over the hill at that very moment. Without hesitation, or mercy Euphemious stabbed his Iron Spear through the chest of the brigand. The spear pierced straight through the other side of the brigand. The sight of it sent a cold chill down Axes spine.
"Move", spoke Euphemious. Axe immediately jumped over the hill and charged the enemies position. After a moment Euphemious followed. "Charge", he shouted at the top of his lungs signaling their attack, and expelling the anger Axe had built up.
Things when just as Euphemious predicted. As he let out his battle cry the brigands rushed into action. They assumed they were facing a larger force and sent all of their troops forward, with the exception of the guard. The first reach the field of battle were the Mercenaries, as they were the fastest. Upon seeing only Axe and Euphemious the three swordsmen became arrogant.
"What only three of them", spoke the first Mercenary as he charged in? He focused his attacks on Axe as he had the advantage against her. However the full hardy swordsmen was cut off by Euphemious who to his surprise was quite nimble in his armor.
The mercenary attacked, but was soon impaled as he raised his sword. The second Mercenary attacked Axe, and immediately gained the advantage. Axe could barely hold off his assault, but the ever watchful Euphemious stabed him in the side. The third swordsman, seeing the quick departure of his two comrades, waited for the brigands to catch up.
"Pop open that armor", shouted a Brigand as he pointed toward Euphemious. Three of them charged while the other two joined the swordsman in attacking Axe.
"Axe", shouted Eupemious, and without another word the war maiden moved in closer to her armored cousin. The plan was going as he expected it. What Kenneth and Sword did next would change the tide of battle.

(I hope you don't mind if I can control Sword for right now) Kenneth heard Euphimous and Axe shout loudly and the sound of battle followed. He jumped up, ran to Dinami and hoisted himself up.
"Let's move," he shouted at Sword. He charged out of the woods and at the guard. Kenneth was able to land a quick stab on the surprised before having to ride away before he got slashed. Sword charged up and finished the job. Kenneth pulled back around and trotted up to the bound figure. He removed the rag around her eyes and mouth. The girl glared at Kenneth and began kicking him.
"You bandits aren't going to get anything from me," she shouted. She was screaming loudly so Kenneth quickly threw his hand over her mouth and pinned her legs. They couldn't be discovered yet.
"We're not bandits," the squire explained, "We're here to help you. Now please be quiet."
She continued to glare, but let Kenneth untie her. She rubbed her wrists.
"Thanks, I guess."
"No problem. We'll talk more later, right now we've got a few friends to help."
Kenneth jumped back onto Dinami and spurred him towards the sound of battle. Sword sprinted behind him and so did the girl. They crested the hill and saw Euphimous and Axe back to back fighting.
"Sword, take out the ones with lances. Try to give Euphimous and Axe some space. You, whatever your name is-"
"Jinala," she replied.
"Jinala, take out the ones with axes so Euphimous, the knight can focus elsewhere."
Both of the maidens nodded and took off. Kenneth spurred Dinami and galloped at the last mercenary. Kenneth stabbed him in the side and trotted off, then came around for another stab while he was recovering. The mercenary fell and the remaining two jumped back in surprise. Kenneth smiled at Axe.
"You looked like you could use some help."
